Resort Change by Disney

Oh my, I love you!!!!! After 2 hours on hold and being disconnected I tried that number and it was for guest services, who picked up immediately. They said they could move me from Music to Pop. Waiting on hold while they do that.

omg, that number worked!! You guys are the best!!

hung up my original call that was at 2:37 hold (407-939-1936)

and had a backup because I was disconnected so many times yesterday, that call is at 1:28 and still holding (407-939-5277)

Just called the 407-939-7866, had to call about 15 times before it connected, was on hold for less than 10 minutes. Now, my guest services rep has me on hold while she sees where I can be moved to. She even took my # and blocked her line so if we get disconnected she can call me back. Please let this be the end of this mess! fingers crossed that I get a little bit of Disney Magic and there's still somewhere to move my two GF rooms to.

I basically told him I wasn't happy with the room I was given since I felt like it wasn't an equal accommodation and he said "Well, not everyone will be happy with what they're given. If you aren't, then don't come. There's no penalty to cancel! We'll be here next year!" I just asked to be transferred to GS and now I'm on hold for an about 30-minute wait.

What are your dates? If you are going prior to some of the deluxes opening, they may not have a king bed with a view room available for you. July inventory is getting very, very tight. I think it may become a matter of either taking what is offered or modifying your dates.

If anyone else had a CM tell them last night that they'd call them back today, can you report back here when they call back? He told me it would be no later than 5pm but of course as I read this morning of more issues/less availability, waiting makes me nervous. But he also seemed way more flexible with what he was going to try to do for me than others have reported so I want to hold out to see what he says

So my sis, who is a TA, said that she was told that if no action was taken by a guest with an existing reservation (i.e. they don't call to change their resy), that they will be automatically moved to an upgraded room, no charge/price increase. I'm sure that you get whatever room at whatever resort they choose to give you, and by waiting you may run into availability issues, but still. Anyone else heard this? (If this has already been mentioned, I apologize, lot of pages in this thread ha).

The website says you will be canceled if you don’t contact them. So, from their official policy, a guest must initiate things.

I'm going mid-August. I was told yesterday that the Contemporary would be fully open but I would have to pay to be moved to there. But now I'm on hold with GS to sort this mess out.

I am also a TA, and this isn't true. They are absolutely planning to cancel our clients' reservations if we don't contact them on behalf of our clients and initiate a resort change at least 7 days in advance.

I think that they ran out of DVC rooms in July through the middle of August because those were the only open resorts for them to move people to. As it gets to end of August, they might get more DVC rooms from breakage, and can move Deluxe resort guests to them? Perhaps people will have more luck at the 60 days prior to the last day of their stay.

DVC book up rooms in the fall pretty much at the 11 months mark as it is called Fall frenzy.

So, the options for DVC will be slim to none. Right now, there is very few things left so not much to send for cash, especially studios.

If anyone has had experience with Disney initiating a resort change, I would appreciate your thoughts. Yesterday it was mentioned that some of the resorts would not open. If my resort was not going to open, is it possible that Disney would just move me to another resort of their choosing, or do you think I would have some kind of choice?

I called disney yesterday and changed from POR to Caribbean Beach for my Sept 2020 trip. I did have to pay a slight difference in cost
