No, unfortunately they can no longer be used for gift cards.

Happy Gift Cards Add New Brand: Happy Birthday

Happy Guy and Happy Holidays gift cards are no more, but a new Happy brand is on the scene: Happy Birthday. Unfortunately from a gift card reselling perspective it’s not particularly interesting seeing as it’s only eligible at the following retailers:

• The Cheesecake Factory
• Macy’s
• Dave & Buster’s
• Panera Bread
• Ulta Beauty
• Regal Cinemas

So we knew about Happy Guy gift cards getting axed, but now it looks like Happy Holidays is too.



According to GC Galore,
It sounds like Happy Holidays gift cards are no more too, at least for now anyway. If you try buying one from a store that still has them on their gift card rack, it apparently won’t activate. This is a shame as the cards could be used at both Lowe’s and GameStop, so we’ll hopefully see them making a return later this year during the holiday season. Link

It looks like Best Buy is back up to 10% cash back on Retail Me Not. It still says Top Deal Products, but this has always worked before for me when buying DGCs for in store pickup and for shipping (YMMV).

Interestingly, I see that they now have digital gift card delivery as well for DGCs. I'm going to take the plunge and give it a try with a $50 card and see if it tracks. (They also have $25 denomination.) I'll report back.

I have a couple of the Happy Holiday ones I got that I haven't used yet. I was planning on using them for gardening supplies this spring. Hopefully there won't be any issue since I bought them by redeeming URs when they were on sale a few months ago.

I think Happy Guy is gone for good but I wouldn’t doubt Happy Holidays will be back around Christmas time.

Happy Birthday looks cool but they definitely could’ve added a few more exciting retailers.

Interesting. There were a ton still out at my Kroger last weekend. I may give it a shot and report back. I'll probably wait to see if they do 4x FPs though...

right now they have 200 fuels points for all happy card > $10. So a $25 card is 8x. Through 3/9.

coupon plus another coupon to save $5 when you buy 2 happy cards totally $50. So I think you would get 2 card for $45 and get 245 FP.

Nice if you actually have a ShopRite that allows buying GC with a CC. I gotta do some research see if I can find one in another franchise, maybe they'll let me use a CC. All my locals are debit/cash only for any type of GC.

DGC question - I now have $5000 of DGCs on my Disney gift card account (saved on 5 gift cards). I need a bit more for my trip, but 5 is the max # of cards I can have on my account. Should I just sign up for another account using a different e-mail address? I assume that's my only option but wanted to check with you fine people.

I've been using the Mr. Rebates 5% back at Raise, then buying Walmart GCs at Raise for 2% or more off (I watch the site often and jump on them when they appear at a discount above 2%), then use those to buy at samsclub. com to get DGCs for 4%+ off. All in, I'm getting I'm getting 11-12% or more. I don't see this strategy mentioned on any of the pinned comments, but it's a solid, and easy way to exceed 10% consistently.

Anyway - now I need to combine my remaining DGCs from sams club - hence my original question..... (thanks!)

As long as you have those 5 physical cards, you don't need to leave them on the website. I never leave them on the website, I transfer amounts to combine them, put the physical card with my trip stuff and delete them on the website. I had my account hacked once already, but since I keep nothing on there, I didn't lose anything.

As an FYI you can always put a GC back on the site if you need to for any reason.

Interesting, I have bought gift cards at Shoprites, in NJ, NY, and DE and have never encountered one that didn't allow you to use a credit card to buy a gift card. If your ShopRite doesn't allow you to use a credit card, you should definitely try another Shoprite.
