SWGE AP previews - Meet Ups

We are making the 9 hour drive on the 16th (we couldn't find cheap plane tickets like many of you were able to!) so getting there pretty late maybe early morning on the 17th, staying at Music. Probably going to sleep in then go straight to DHS when we get moving. DD LOVES Star Tours so we will probably try to get on there a few times before our preview from 1-5. DD kinda pretends to hate Star Wars but loves that ride, so we want to get her pumped before the land. After that we will just be playing it by ear. Maybe if we get to overstay our welcome a little in SWGE that will give us stuff to do :poop:. We have to drive back the next day on the 18th so it probably won't be a late night for us.

We are leaving on the 16th for an 8 hour car ride straight to MK for the Halloween party.

The 17th we will rope drop HS and see what we can do stand by before our 1-5 preview. I have a 4:45-5:45 FOP FP so we will probably leave around 4:30 to drive over to AK for our 3 FPs for the day. Then we will get up on the 18th and have Boma for breakfast before driving home.

Glad to know we aren't the only ones driving a large distance for basically one day :darth:

We already had a trip planned from the 10th -16th and extended a day to attend the preview. We’re doing Wild Africa Trek at AK on the 12th, have BoG for lunch on our MK day, and a bunch of FP at each park. We’re hoping for a laid back visit since it’s just the 3 of us (DH and DD 8). We haven’t been to Disney with just our family since we’ve had APs so it will be nice to go at our own pace and really take advantage of our APs to hop in and out and take time for Disney Springs and lazy days at the pool. Excited to check out Coronado on our last night (OKW wasn’t available for a good price for the day we added). The pool looks pretty cool.
The pool at Coronado is awesome! The pool bar food does leave something to be desired though lol

Original trip booked for the 25-29th. They announced the opening on Aug 29th - the day we leave😩. Added on to the front of my trip two days because I got a good deal on flights and pass holder discount for my room. They announced AP previews for 17-21....the day before I get there😞
I was able to snag a preview spot for 5-9 on the 21st...so rebooked flights, single night AP discount room. Nothing like a 4 day trip becoming an 8 day trip😂

My husband insisted I fly ($40 on spirit!) from Atlanta while he drives so I can have en extra 5 hours in the park, otherwise we totally would have driven as well! The 16th will Be our first ever MNSSHP and I’m only feeling 900% guilty doing it without my 2 and 4 year old....lol

Trip planned for AP previews.
DS7 and I fly early the 18th, staying at WL. (1st time!)
Snagged SBD for 5:35 a few days ago, so debating doing it again (did it Spring Break) Probably pool and to bed after watching fireworks from WL.
Monday EMH @ AK for EE/Dino/Safari, leave right after those for break.
Snagged Scifi for 2:40, so head to DHS for that. FP ST, then head to check in for 5-9 preview.
Tuesday EMM MK, WCC lunch (1st time) MNSSHP!
Wednesday flight home at 12:35.

Back in November. :)

My sister's upset that I'm not doing the 6.5 hour drive (I'm solo!) because she decided last minute she wanted to come but didn't want to pay $100 RT airfare. I feel like $100 is worth it between the time lost driving, cost of gas, and tolls (literally like $30 there & back), but I can't convince her to buy the plane ticket. Her loss!

Ugh if we could find RT for only $100 we totally would have flown! Definitely worth it then! We couldn't find anything less than $250 a piece, and for 3 of us we couldn't justify that for a weekend. Not with the lightsabers 🤣

Our flights were around $250 from Chicago!

Got them anyway!

:D

I am totally not complaining but flying in on the 21st our Frontier flight was $68 each for one way....yesterday I looked and we could have flown this same flight for $28 IF I had waited to book it. No way I would have waited to book but the two of is could have flown for less than the price of one! No way would dh drive that 15 hour trip from StL for 1 day!

We arrive on the 18th...afternoon and evening at MK. EPCOT maybe the morning of the 19th? Then 3 to 7 GE with Oga’s. Then DAH at AK...so excited for this too! Flying home way way way too early on the 20th.

We are also at DAH at AK on the 19th ! We have the preview GE on the 20th from 1 - 5, just me and youngest dd. Sadly my older dd who snagged the reservation for us has to fly home that morning as she couldn't work it out with work!

Oh, that’s rotten luck for your older daughter! Have you done DAH at AK before? It’s our first time trying an after hours event! We should run into each other! :hyper2:

My dd's have done the MK DAH and loved it so I am excited to try AK. We did the Harambe Nights way back when and it was awesome so I am excited to be in AK late at night with minimal crowds again + Pandora :)

My dd's may Disney bound "light" if so I will let you know their plans so we can spot each other?

What non-preview plans does everyone have for their preview day? Have we talked about that?

I'm flying in late Friday the 16th and flying back out early Sunday the 18th so I have a very small window. We usually take breaks, but plan on going pretty hard the 17th because it's just the one day.

Currently we plan on doing EMH at AK for Everest/safari/dinosaur (we aren't bothering with Pandora this time) and then heading to our 1pm preview slot. We have some FPs at HS for star tours and TSM currently. We plan on ending our day over at Epcot to catch one final showing of illuminations - our next trip isn't until October.

Quick weekend for me too. I'm driving down on the 16th, staying at SSR and leaving on the 18th. I have an 11am time slot on the 17th so will probably head to HS when it opens and do what I can until it's time to enter SWGE. Will probably see Illuminations that evening unless I get down there early enough to see them on Friday.

I will be back on the 28th for a few days so most of my plans for this weekend are pretty flexible except for the 11-3 in SWGE. 😀

Crazy quick trip for us, too. Our preview is saturday the 17th from 1-5.

Plane tix were insanely expensive, so we're taking the car train (18 hours) from fri - sat, get in to sanford FL about 9 am sat morning, by the time we get the car and drive to wdw we'll just go right to GE, spending one night at the contemporary, and driving 14 hours back to DC on sunday.

DH and i both have a training the week before, and he is starting a new project on mon the 19th, so we couldn't be gone from work longer than that. Our friends think we are crazy. 😏

It’s totally too big on her but she doesn’t care. She’s ready for her visit. She doesn’t know we’re going to SWGE, just thinks she might be able to build a droid outside the area and go on Star Tours.

So cute!!!

You are among friends here. My coworkers think I'm crazy too.....and I'm not even telling anyone else, lol.
