What Rides / Attractions Are You "Retired" From???

I so agree with Space Mountain. I'm done with that ride way to bumpy and jerky.
Next is Tower of Terror. Tried it 3 times and it still scares me so I'm done with it lol.
Astro Orbiter has been one haven't rode is 6 years I'm not sure if I'm done with it though but I do not like it.

Space Mountain is certainly the hands down winner.
I love TOT, but I agree that if something scares you that much... why even waste time getting on it - that time in line could be better spent on something else that makes you feel good. Or if you just don't like a ride.
I really just don't care for BUZZ. I have my must do list and my afterward list. And I'm not even putting it on my afterward list now. Even if I just take a break and relax, and people watch... that we be more appealing and satisfying for my MK hours than getting a ride I don't like. Downtime is important at Disney.

I have said I was swearing off Space Mountain due to how rough it is on my back and legs, but last month on our family vacation there I was like a happy idiot riding Space Mountain. Once per trip is enough for me though.

I can't think of other rides I feel that way about

I actually told myself that I would swear of SM too. But after my last ride... i mean it. I just think my aging body can't handle it anymore.

I was one of those odd people who really enjoyed Stitch until I had an allergic reaction to the Chili Dog scent and haven't been on it since.

lol. You probably enjoyed stitch because you are a stitch fan.
(I'm a Lilo fan. Ohana is a must for my visits!)

Great thread idea!

  1. Any water ride where you get soaked - hate walking around waiting to dry and/or worry about seeing through my clothes (yes, this happened once, had to wrap a towel around my beige shorts)
  2. Mission Space - both sides
  3. Star Tours - kills me because I can't see the upgrades!
Never have been on the teacups so those aren't technically as much retired as they are a "never was" due to the spinning.

Wow another person who has never done the teacups. They are a blast... you should try them!
Both sides for Mission Space!? Wow. Whelp... we all know our limitations!
My biggest fear is a ferris wheel. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Too high, too slow... dangling from a flimsy metal seat. I don't think so.

I will not ride any thing that spins makes me feel sick, Retired from space mountain to jerky for me.
I will not sit through tiki room or country bear jamboree does not keep my attention
and if I sit down to watch a show I have to sit in a seat with back support like a rail or a wall. any thing really I can lean back on.

Pretty much all roller coasters and rides that jerk you around severely. I've got osteoarthritis in my back and neck and don't want to cause any problems.

Fantasmic was a one and done for us, along with Nemo at AK (I fell asleep three times.) A Bug's Life is the same way.

1. Teacups
2. Primeval Whirl
3. Mission Space

My last time on Mission Space (orange) was so bad I can't even stomach the thought of doing the green side any more, so no Mission Space for me AT ALL. We rode it fairly early in the day and when I got off I was so sick we went back to the room and I stayed in bed until the next morning. Had to miss my coveted Le Cellier reservation.

Mission Space Orange- It was a one and done for me.

I'll still do Mad Teacups for my kids at this point, but I'm retiring that ride as soon as they're old enough to do it by themselves.

Since having vertigo issues, I have done very few of the coaster/spinning type rides. I don't want to take a chance. I have episodes that reuire serious meds and can last weeks.

My first trip to WDW was in 1975. I was 19 years old. The only park was the MK, of course. Over the past 42 years DH & I have visited many, many times by ourselves, with our children, and now grandchildren. I am now 61 years old. I have never shied away from anything (although I have never been a fan of the Teacups). With that being said, I am beginning to slow down a step or two and some rides are beginning to not feel so good to this body. I remember my mom used to complain that some of the rides were too much for her. Now I am beginning to understand what she meant. (Miss you, Mom!)

I hear ya!
Tiki...never again.
Country Bear Jamboree... haven't done it ...never will. A waste of my Disney Time!

Great post. God Bless you! Love it. Thanks for sharing.
I'm a healthy 57. But I think Space Mountain owned me this time. Bowing out gracefully!

I think I must be a big kid. I don't think I'll ever tire of the Teacups!

Oh My Goodness! That was awful. And missing Le Cellier. So sorry it was that bad for you.
I am doing TEPPAN EDO this trip and planning LE CELLIER next go round. Both have been coveted for me.
I cancelled them my last go round because I had too many ADRs that were screwing up my park time.

OMG. I forgot about FANTASMIC.
Former Hubby and I did it on our first visit. Bored Silly. Never did it again. Never will.
I actually like not liking an attraction. More park time for other things.

There are some rides I won't do any more because they bore me now. However I think that this thread is about what a person can't do so easily mostly for physical reasons?

I won't go on Mission Space Orange any more because it makes me feel yucky. The green side is one of those boring attractions but it's changing soon so I'll have to check it out again.

I would also prefer to never go on Space Mountain again. All of that bumping around in the dark does nothing for me.

If I do include boring attractions I would add Stitch, Imagination :( , Nemo, Little Mermaid (both) and Kali

I've ridden Mission Space, about 8 years apart and refuse to go on it again. I refuse to go spinning and didn't care of the less intense version either. I only went on it the last time because DH and the girls wanted the spinning version and they boys didn't. I often pass on Tea Cups because of the spinning. I don;t like ToT but get roped in because DH refuses to do it and the younger kids need an adult sacrifice for it. I still ride Space Mountain but will close my eyes during the light tunnels because they trigger migraines. I rode Alien Encounter and Stitch once each and that was enough. The harnesses trigger panic and the hot dog smell from stitch is gross.

My brother-in-law raved about how good Fantasmic was and how much him and his family loved it, so on our first trip to DHS, we tried it. I kept thinking during the show, we gave up going on attractions and going home for this? Fortunately for me, my wife and kids all had the same feeling! :teeth:
