I am kicking myself for not booking a studio villa when I had the chance. It was almost the same price as the garden view that I actually booked. Now there aren't any left!

We have reservations booked for the last week of August. The last time we stayed at YC we had a nasty encounter with a man at the pool. He and his family took the last row of chairs. When we took the chairs in front of them he got very ugly and aggressive about how we were blocking his view of his kids in the pool. There were no castmembers around, so rather than get into a physical altercation we left the pool. My spouse is worried we'll encounter that attitude again. It was a Sunday in June. Is late August better? Alternatively, would it help to avoid Sunday? Any chance they've installed some sort of cabana I can rent?

I would just go and enjoy your time at the pool as a family. I doubt that incident would be repeated, seriously though if they were that concerned about their offspring they should have been in the water with them not sat on a sun lounger. Try to put it behind you and as others have said if you do encounter anyone like that again get the life guards to call security, you have as much right to be there as any Y&BC guest. The rest of us are friendly and happy to move if we need to to watch our kids it's no biggie. I know we all get some whackydays even on vacation but that's never an excuse to snap at another family trying to have a relaxing time at the pool. Have a great vacation

Now that we are doing a BCV 1 bedroom what are some good requests? I don't know whether to request quiet pool or BC view or woods view. I would like a quiet room meaning not much chance of hearing people past like 11pm. And it would be nice to have a shorter walk to the main resort building and Epcot.....

Is there any way to find out now what time and days of the week the BC does the campfire and outdoor movies the first week of June? Or about when do they publish a schedule for this? Thank you.

20 DAYS. I've over-planned and am too excited to contain myself.

We have 29 days, I am so excited, I think more this time than any other.

Yes, there are YC GV rooms that are on the lagoon side. Some of those rooms have a wedding gazebo view. Some overlook the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard. Some of those may have fireworks views of either Illuminations or the Hollywood Studios fireworks. Check out the Yacht Club Room View thread (on the Resorts Community subforum) to see some samples of these rooms with these views.

Not positive about the request to emphasize a fireworks view. Maybe "Room on backside of resort, facing EPCOT if possible"

Dee, thanks so much for the suggestion. We've only stayed at YC one other time and did have a GV but we had a view of trees that hid the parking lot behind them with a patch of grass below us and looked at the balconies across the way. Just hoping for something a little more exciting to look at. I remember now seeing suggestions for wedding gazebo area. Not really expecting to see fireworks. We had a BC Club GV room that looked out at the entrance that faced the lagoon and we could see some of the fireworks so that was a bonus. I know YC is oriented slightly differently so wasn't sure if it would be possible. We'll be happy no matter what! Still trying to decide if I should move the kids to the YC also. It will cost more than the SV at BC but then we'd all be in the same place.

Since we are staying CL and will likely be partaking in the evening snacks and appetizers, we would like some advice on where to go to get evening QS at BC or YC. I imagine we may head over to Epcot one or two evenings and dine there, but there may be a night or two we may want to stay at the resort. What QS meals do you enjoy at BC or YC?

I'll second Crews Cup. Our family really likes to grab something there. Love the burgers. We've tried most of the menu and been happy with everything. Hurricane Hannah's is okay but we prefer CC.

As a BCV DVC owner I love the Villas. But there are no special views. The Villa building was built in the old CM parking lot behind the BC. I have never gotten a request nor have I ever had a Villa I didn't like. I would decide if you want an upper floor or not, and request a quiet room.
1BR Villas are wonderful. You will have a Master BR with a King bed, a Master bath with a soaker tub and a separate walkin shower. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a Living/Dining room and a stackable washer & dryer. You will have a patio or balcony to sit at.
We do not " cook in" but I do get a Garden Grocer delivery of: fruit, juice, breakfast pastry, water, soda, beer, wine, cheese& crackers & other snacks. Eating a light breakfast as we get ready in the morning saves us time and money. It is wonderful to have an " adult beverage" and snack on the balcony before we head back out for our dinner ADR

Geez. Talk about sucking out the fun and relaxation that is SAB. Also, if you need to supervise your kids, why would they have taken the back row? As if the chairs in front of then shouldn't be occupied? Laughable. Seems like an off guest if you ask me. By and large folks are quite friendly. I wouldn't let that moment phase you. come back and enjoy
When we were there in July, there were some women laying in chairs next to me, my husband was in the pool, and I was checking my eyelids for holes, all of a sudden I'm tasting and smelling sunscreen. They were spraying the aerosol can like 80's Aqua Net! I just said hey ladies, would it be possible to step away from the chairs a few feet to spray? I appreciate your sun safety measures, but Im looking for a full bake today! They laughed and were more considerate when spraying.
That's more typical of guests imo at YBC

Just booked our Summer Vaca!

Heading off to WL in 13 days, but since summer discounts came out I had to grab ours. In July, we are staying a few days at BWCL, going to Orlando to visit relatives, and then staying YCCL 7/23-7/28. I'm hoping I'll be able to add a AP discount to these dates, but just in case I have it booked. I go a few times a year, so I like to switch up resorts, but the YC/BC is my "home" resort. lol Can't wait to see the new rooms and float in the lazy river at SAB!

Question about the Beach Club pool- How deep is the water that the slide drops you into? Also, are floaties allowed in the pool? (specifically the round ones that a kid can wear on their upper arm)

You can wear floaties. You can also buy pool noodles there. The lazy river is 8ft at one point, but most other pools are not deep. Maybe 4 ft max? You can stand up once off the slide.

Just saw this thread. Poster was at YC during construction & their trip was impacted. Watched the video & I am shocked they were left in their room.
