Is it difficult to get a table at Artist Point without reservations? We'll land at ORL around 6pm after an all-day flight. I imagine we'll be hungry, but I don't know if we'll be up to eating at an upscale place.

Are there recommendations for eating at the airport, or is it all fast foods?
Make reservations once you land and know your timing. I've never seen it when I couldn't make a same day ADR at Artist Point
Another choice is to make your ADR for a time you think you'll get there. If you make it, great. If you realize you are running late, use the Change Reservation feature on MDE to move it. You can do this and avoid a no show fee.

I wouldn't want to eat at the airport unless you are left no choice. It's really not great food, mostly fast food or fast casual

Thanks for the info about what rooms are on the CL floor! I remember now that there are only really 24 CL rooms now that the south wing is shut down. For those of you who have stayed CL, do you know how many of these rooms ....or which rooms....may have bunk beds?

043 had bunk beds in 2013. Best. Room. Ever. We also stayed in same room in 2010, 2007 and 2005. We requested this room each time and got VERY lucky. :yay:

Thank you Angie. Good advice.

Thank you!! What was so special about 7043? Does it have a good view of the courtyard or Bay Lake?

Hello, Please remove our dates from the Lodgers' Log. We have decided to switch to the Contemporary for our visit in May. Hoping to be back to the lodge for Marathon Weekend!

Hope everyone else has great trips!

YIPPEE! Is August a first? You usually always go in September, but I assume you don't want DD missing any school? Are you going with family/friends again? I'm heading right over to the Lodgers' Log:surfweb:

Yes, it is our first time in August, and we moved the trip up to avoid having to take Allie out of school. After having a great time last year, John and Brandy are coming back again, and another set of friends, a couple with two kids, is planning on coming along too. They heard about all the fun we had last year and want to make their first WDW trip as much fun. We will miss the September lack of crowds, but we will be very excited to be there and see all that is new at WL. Our goal for this trip is to spend more time hanging out at the resort, and we are very excited about that.

We loved that room because
- it is at the end of the hall so
- there is no one to the left of you
- it is directly above Silver Springs and we love the sound of the water fall
- wonderful view of the courtyard, pool and bay lake and EWP

We stayed at WL last June and were able to view fireworks from our "Standard View" room, thanks to tips I got here about the type of room request to make.

Is it still possible to see fireworks from any Standard View rooms (will be early July this summer)? If so, how would I phrase that request? Thanks so much!

Sandy and I will be at Bolder Ridge Villas 4-25 through 5-3 2017. We are hoping for "construction view" :). By now? We have 3 sets of "construction pins" :). We've been to VWL twice per year since they broke dirt for CCV.

I would think that most of the standard view rooms would still have a view of the fireworks in July. You could call in and have a request for a good fireworks view added to your reservation. :)

There's a map floating around on the thread just a few pages back, if you want to see specific room numbers. Or use the Touring Plans map to find them. You want to request upper floor and one of the rooms that is further down the arm, towards the lake. Upper floor is important as the rooms at the end of the arm that are lower won't have a view of the MK

It's been 14 years since I've stayed at WL. Just booked week after Thanksgiving. Last time we were there we were upgraded to a Courtyard View. Now I know how special that was and I've booked a Courtyard View lol. Anyway, I remember that some of the upper floors had high balcony walls rather then a regular balcony. Is that still the case? What floor would they be if they are still there so I can request that I not be assigned one? Also, any ideas if construction will be done by next November/December? Is there an "up to date" thread? TIA any replies

Yes, that is still the case. The top floor all has them. The center area is all CL but the end of the "arm" is not CL. So you don't want the top floor

Would you risk WL buses for a 7 a.m. MK EMH? What time would you be at the bus stop? I'd like to be at MK plenty early, like 6:40. An alternative is a taxi (prefer not to use Uber or Lyft for personal reasons) to the CR, but I am unclear on how quickly a taxi would come at 6 a.m. and whether the driver would want to make such a short trip at that hour. Thank you in advance for sharing your advice and experience!

A taxi would have to take you either to CR or to TTC as they can't pull up to MK. Personally I'd do the bus and be at the stop around 6:15-6:20.

What time should we be at the bus stop for 7:45 AM EMM? Would 7 be adequate?

I would think 7 would be plenty early.

We had no problem using a bus from WL to make EMM at MK. We actually got there way too early, before security opened. You'll be fine getting the first bus, about 6:30. I wouldn't wait till 7:00 as you may be 7:20 before a bus got there

We have had taxi drivers refuse short trips. Uber doesn't but since you won't use them you may have issues with short trips like WL to CR. Just to let you know if it comes to you needing to use them
