Canadian Buffoon's Hi Low Vacation - South Central Musings

So much to say, but sadly, not only am I pulley, ver pully, but I'm laying in my room atR French Quarter, trying to reply using an ipad and a dodgy Disney wifi connection. Excuse the typos, please.

Yes, we're back, using the tail end of our AP's, which expire on Thursday. We arived on Wednesday, with me starting to develop a bad cough/cold conveniently on Tuesday. Bill had a touch of stuffiness so by the time we landed, his left ear was blocked and my right ear was blocked. Leading to some very edifying conversations like this:

Me: How much cash are you bringing to the park tomorrow?
Him: Yes.

Anyway, he is not sick nut I still am. It got chilly today so I sent him to MK solo after a morning at HS.

I wanted to give my two cents about the Sept Dismeet. I thought it went fine, given the insanely small venue, insanely HUGE F&W crowd, and the massive T-storms that shut down transportation. I wanted to meet rhe famous Ponzi and I did! At one point he asked me to take his bag while he searcheded for other life forms, and OMG- this crazy guy carried a sack full of cinderblocks (plus a tripod) from his hotel room all around the World Showcase! It weighed a TON. But it was full of goody bags, of which we took two and kindly lightened hhis load.

Will add more in a bit- Bill just got back. Dang, I missed the Country Bear Jamboree...

I know... sometimes it can be pushing it at an hour too!

Truth for us mere mortals.

Dang... you've spent so much time there you should almost be a Mexican citizen by now!

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

me please, need to beat Steppe!

Nah, with as much pure, dumb luck needed for the questions, I could tank at any moment. I already know I'm WAY off for the transportation number. Could still go to anyone yet.

1/2 of which I was training the new girl
so hyper vigilant.
..... which is utterly exhausting.

I agree! I mean, about the "you should be reading her TR" part. That's all. Promise. Scout's honor.

:blush::blush: Yours, in the meantime, trumps most everything on the Boards. The end.

Hi! I'd like a table for me and my 9 imaginary friends, please.

:lmao: Plenty of room for the chips and salsa and the "more drinks".

And you're pushy! A perfect pair!

 Nice tete a tete.

*Passengers FYI. I liked it.

I knew you would. ;)

Well, that's nice for you! What about me?!?!?

Oh, never mind. I'll just bother the pilot.
I hear she's hot.

What else does she have to do?

Well, you know. Easy stuff, like fly the plane, and navigate it to really awesome places. Make sure it stays on course, etc.... May I apply to pkondz air?

Actually, believe it or not... that was an absolute fluke!
I wasn't filling space with my numbers 3,2,1 I was counting down.
I posted "3" and waited 60 seconds. Then posted 2... 60 seconds... then 1.

Just a coincidence that the next post was at the top of the page.

I actually did wonder if it was simply that, and thought, nah, he's doing this intentionally. It was too easy.

Oooh! Oooh! Me! Me!

Are you tuning your voice?

Well the first thing that came to mind was ARIEL, but actually that's either a little creepy or say things about your persona that's sort of opposite of riding a Harley

Yeah... just...... no.

more like a hairstylist.

I can barely shave, don't ask me to hairstyle too!

There's always CRAZY or PHASE. You could get a license plate frame that says "It's a". There! I like that! I'm going with PHASE.

Not bad!
But not sure where I'd find the frame.... hmmm..

Well I just remembered a discussion we had about bad days to go to Epcot and you mentioned that you planned to be there Saturday. I've been keeping track of what day it is and where you've been in a document named "Pkondz vacation planning".

:faint:

Now
that's dedication.

Or stalkerish. Whichever.

Please no. :sad2:

Is that a request? Or a plead?

Really! Just think the money they could make by selling it too!

I know, right?
"And for only $100/day, enjoy all our parks
in cool comfort with your personal climate
containment system."

I might do it, too.

They're the ones who slept in because they have FP+ for later in the afternoon.

:rolleyes1 Know anyone like that?

I heard the same thing from a friend of mine when we went to DL a couple weeks ago.

That cavity searches can be fun?

Is that crickets I hear?

More than likely.

I don't think it's something very high on my list, though I doubt I've tried it before.

If you do make sure you eat it correctly.

Interesting. I believe at the 2013 D23 Expo I saw something about this in the Imagineering pavilion.

Oh?
How are those D23s?
Heard of them. Know nothing of them.

I didn't do any snaps when I rode it.

Too busy enjoying the ride?
I was tempted to just put the camera away.

I'm not sure I'll get to a 5th or 6th ride on it....

Because?

I like your ending better.

::yes:: More realistic.

You really need to teach me some of your photoshop skills!

Actually... That one's untouched.

Again, not surprised. Thank goodness they are opening another Tequila bar.

Oh, they are? Didn't know that.

Yeah, I wasn't happy when they told us 45 minutes.

I was 15 minutes less happy.

Okay....I will look for that instead of your smiling face....

And some guy, wearing the same shirt,
goes off and has a wonderful DISmeet
with people he has no clue who they are.

I doubt that.

No. It's true. I felt badly about it.

I think you've said that. From the phone, you can't tell, but then I looked from the computer and it is rather noticeable.

Yeah. It really sucks.

I'm sure you did. ;)

Absolutely. I'm a gentleman... eventually.

How thoughtful!

It was! Very much so.

I worry about the same thing, since I'm older than pretty much all the folks following along on my TRs.

Well, since we're about the same age
you won't have to worry.

Can't say the same for the two kids with us.

So what happened to her?

No idea. Dropped off the face of the DIS.

Interesting. I've always been a gal of many words, so I prefer the longer winded version.

We'll look to you to carry the conversation.

I'm Pretty sure that is almost always the case. I don't think I've ever left a DISmeet saying, "Whew! I couldn't get away from them fast enough!"

::yes::

I can't say I've never done that....

Desperate times...

I am really looking forward to seeing you sashay around Disneyland.

 Prepare for disappointment!!

I do that a lot to the women I meet.

I thought the peanut butter overpowered the white chocolate mousse.

Now that you say that....

That did seem to be the case.
Also, not a huge fan of nuts in things.
And there were crushed peanuts in there too, no?

Yeah, and by the time you get all the way around the castle the parade is over. Nice.

Not when I'm walking (as opposed to sashaying)
I'd be around the castle faster than any float
can make it around the hub.

I see what you did there, except there are too many syllables.

Oh, hello, Dole Whip.
Well, hello Dole Whip!
It's so nice you're in my gut
where you belong.

I wasn't really watching my scansion.
But... I do like your version better.

That's me totally!!!!! But I said "Yes"!!!!!!

You hesitated before you said it, I could tell you really didn't mean it. And such and so forth.

:lmao:

2:15AM

8 minutes, making your transportation total 111 minutes.

Frozen

Yes

At home Hot: with about 2 tablespoons of warmed milk
At home Iced: with about 2 tablespoons milk and a squirt of Agave syrup
Starbucks Hot: with half an inch of half and half.
Starbucks Iced: Venti Iced Coffee with whole milk and four pumps of Classic.

Noted.

Yes, PM coming soon

Got it!

Ooooooh, I can't wait to hear all about it!

More disappointment coming your way...

My mom made Tourtiere,
I made an old recipe called "Boulettes"
which you won't find no matter how much you Google
(well you will something, but it's not that),
riced potatoes, Caesar salad,
asparagus which I forgot to finish so got left behind,
and of course turkey, stuffing and gravy.
Except this year I did a bacon wrapped, maple glazed turkey....
sooooooo good.

So I have to go back to your Christmas dinner and say that I thought that I had figured out what Boulettes were as I am planning on making a Canadian Dinner for some friends in February and when I googled Canadian food it came up with Bouilli and I thought oh look I found his secret recipe, then I went back and found your post and lo and behold I was wrong - oh well I hope whatever it was you enjoyed it.
I haven`t come up with a licence plate but I do like whoever suggested PONZI like FONZIE - you can be cool just like he was.

No shame in sharing the best ideas. IMHO, La Cava is the prime location for DISMeets. BUTT...

I'm quickly changing my mind due to the fact that it's "been discovered" and almost too hard to get into now. Teetering on finding some new digs and making them the next place for the Kewl Kids to hang at. I'll let you know what I decide.
How about the tapas place in Morocco?

Nah, with as much pure, dumb luck needed for the questions, I could tank at any moment. I already know I'm WAY off for the transportation number. Could still go to anyone yet.
Have you seen my guess for bus times? 180 minutes! That's never gonna happen!

Are you tuning your voice?

Ha! They call me the Florence Foster Jenkins of the band!

Not bad!
But not sure where I'd find the frame.... hmmm..

Try here....

https://www.betadesigns.com/products/Motorcyclelicframes/

I'd ship it to you if you had it shipped to me!

:faint:

Now
that's dedication.

Or stalkerish. Whichever.

Probably more stalkerish. I've been like that since you said you were coming to visit.

Is that a request? Or a plead?

Well maybe just that you do shower before we meet. But then again it should hopefully be temperate during that time of year.

I know, right?
"And for only $100/day, enjoy all our parks
in cool comfort with your personal climate
containment system."

I might do it, too.

I'm thinking that I would be a widespread system that would be included like the transportation system. Then they could sell it to cities outside the Disney bubble so that climates stay temperate, however, it might be harder to make a cold place warm than a warm place cool.

:rolleyes1 Know anyone like that?

Probably me!

That cavity searches can be fun?

Well Naked Jim seemed to think it was!

If you do make sure you eat it correctly.

I'm thinking I'll pass.

Oh?
How are those D23s?
Heard of them. Know nothing of them.

Lines, lots of lines, unless you get sorcerer's passes and then they are awesome! Without the passes you have to line up for all the good stuff and then you miss all the good stuff because you are waiting in line for other good stuff.

It just didn't wow me in the least. Ariel’s ride had some good songs and funny jokes with the fish. I thought it was just meh.

Oh, they are? Didn't know that.

Well they used to have a margarita stand outside and Fran and I always stopped there for a quick frozen margarita. Not the best, but it hit the spot without the line. They closed it a while back. When we were there with Liesa I noticed a construction wall up on the left of the pyramid. That's going to be an outdoor tequila bar to take up some of the slack of the indoor one. And it's supposed to be much larger.

And some guy, wearing the same shirt,
goes off and has a wonderful DISmeet
with people he has no clue who they are.

Oh of course we will only meet up with you. Should we make a secret question only you know the answer to?

Well, since we're about the same age
you won't have to worry.

Can't say the same for the two kids with us.

True we are the cinque-tenarians.

 Prepare for disappointment!!

I do that a lot to the women I meet.

That's OK, I have a habit of turningguys to the opposite team. :lmao:

Now that you say that....

That did seem to be the case.
Also, not a huge fan of nuts in things.
And there were crushed peanuts in there too, no?

Me too. I like my creamy things creamy and crunchy things crunchy. I'm not big on combining them.

Not when I'm walking (as opposed to sashaying)
I'd be around the castle faster than any float
can make it around the hub.

Funny I thought sashaying was faster.

I wasn't really watching my scansion.
But... I do like your version better.

I assume "scansion" is a vocal term. As I said, I've been named the Florence Foster Jenkins of the band. But I do have rhythm!

More disappointment coming your way...

Surely not.

See what??

Oh, OOPS!
I saw the snow removal sign (unabashed plug on the frozen ride, eh?) ;)
AND
the mini marvin the martian on the mexico stairs. inside the pyramid.

We haven't had much snow here this year, again. Just way too cold, then it'll get warm. My sinuses have had a workout this season! I'm ready for spring!!!

Good Morning! I have had a few days to veg out after surgery. Healing well, doing fine - except I am way weaker than I want to be and not sure why. Guess all my energy goes to healing. :confused3 Since I am back to work tomorrow, Jim says he is taking me hiking today to get in shape for it. Okay, just a trip to Costco. :rotfl2:

1. What time does the infernal alarm go off?

Because the magical depress picks you up so early, I will say 2:45

2. How long do I wait for DUD (Disney's Un-magical Depress)?

5 minutes

3. I watch a Disney animated movie on the flight. Which?
Hint: Hadn't seen it before.

Toy Story 3

4. Connecting flight. Do I make it?

Yes

5. How do you take your coffee?

Strong and black, like all respectable PNWers

Bonus: Did you see it?

Saw a sign in a foreign country

OK, I'll bite. So I have to say that I like PONZI which has been suggested already. Another simple but effective one would be MARVN.
Going with a Disney theme, I though of things like DREAM and MAGIC but they are a bit too obvious and not exactly "cool". How about something clever hinting at a ride? I like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, so what about THNDR -hints at the ride, plus it's a Harley so you've got that thunderous rumble going on, so I guess you could say it is kind of cool?

Not bad.... not bad....

Oh the temptation....
(*remembers the DIS has filters*)
Oh, never mind...

Darn filters...

I am not! You take that back!

Too late! Once it's posted....
it's set in concrete.

Agreed. They really need to get working on that dome over WDW. I’m sure they will start on it right after Star Wars land is built.

Never happen. Know why?

It would impact on the poncho sales.

Thank goodness for those people who obviously have not heard of the DIS. It does make life easier for the rest of us.

::yes::

Perhaps a nice Ariel shirt?

I could so rock one of those.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you’re feeling better.

It was touch and go there for a while.

Same here. I’ll put this one on my list as an afterthought, but it’s pretty far down. I haven’t even tried school bread yet.

Nor will I ever.
pkondz does
not do coconut.

Frozen 2:Tales from the Crypt

I'd go see that.

Yes, that really is a pain. I’ve missed meeting up with people because of that. (Not DIS people, just friends)

I may have to do something about that
for next year (or the year after. Not sure yet.)
Reasons.

You may have mentioned that one or twice. Fantastic picture anyway. It’s great seeing you and Katie especially. Like most of us, I still miss her trip report. Hopefully she will find her way back sometime.

I really miss her report.
And Lu's would have been brilliant, I'm sure.

Bein sur, mon ami. C’est tres chic! (Yes, I know there are supposed to be accents in sur and tres, I'm not that smart with the keyboard)

I'll let it go this time.

But that's it!!

That one sounded really interesting. I guess everybody else though so, too. I probably wouldn’t have waited either, although I am a chocoholic.

I really wanted to try it.
But I ain't waiting hours for it.

Peasants. They really ought to know better.

They do now.
Several hours in IASW will do that.

That's a hard pill to swallow on your last night. But, you were still in the Magic Kingdom, so you can't be sad for too long.

I wasn't sad for very long
that's for sure.

Yes, they finally got something right. You’ll have to see if they fixed that “To Honor America” float in MSEP if you get to Disneyland.

Note to self: Make sure to take picture
for comparison.

I want to say I haven’t been there, but…. :rolleyes1

Dude... We've all been there.

You definitely lucked out on the skipper there. I did it at night once, but it was just the regular Jungle Cruise with less light. It was still enjoyable, but nothing I would plan my day around.

Too bad. It was a trip highlight for me.

1. I have a sense it will be early. 2:30am.
2. Hopefully 13 minutes. If that is right, then I will have guessed exactly your total transportation time.
3. Zootopia. Going with the masses (so far)
4. Yes. People always complain about YYZ but to be fair I have never missed a connection.
5. As tea with milk and one sugar.

Noted.

Bonus: yes, I noticed the extra visitor on the stairs.

At least he wasn't using his Explosive Space Modulator.

Hi Pkondz

Hi Mac!

You seem to work long hours in the land of snow.

The snow is just adding insult to injury.

Split shift Thursday friday then a double shift Saturday and Sunday. No wonder you are burned out,

I did that?
Huh. It's all a pleasant blur now.

You should be hibernating up there for the next few weeks just to catch up on your lost sleep.

That would be nice.
Unfortunately, my boss disagrees.

I could do with some bonus points so your number plate should read OLD UN. So passing car drivers can reelise that an midlifer is riding this bike so take care and not frighten the rider when overtaking the said Harley.

 Wait... Hey!!

Sad times are coming again your report is nearly at an end only a couple of aroplane rides to go still I am sure they will be well reported.

Nope! Only about half done.

The face masks on frozen carictors were diffraent good to see a different point of view.

Oh they were different all right!

Good that your DIS Meet went well

They did!
Well, once I settled down.

I am sure wishes will still be going when you next visit.

Don't know when... but... probably. Hopefully.

1 Alarm at 06:45 hrs
2 15 min wait for the busame
3 Finding Dory for the movie
4 Catch the connection ok
5 .Heaped and a half of instant coffee two Heaped sugars and full fat milk.

Noted.

Bonus I saw a marv on the stairs on your group photo with the four of you.
Also going back into the snow clearing business once you've got your blower with the help of a raindeer.

I dunno... reindeer have gotten me
into trouble in the past...

Look who's on my mind....you!

Of course I am.
I'm adorable.

I love to look at license plates and in a way have a strange thing about "memorizing" plates of people I know. I can be in a parking lot and recognize a co-workers car etc.

I've never heard of that before.
I kinda like it.

So I have a few ideas for you. Sorry, I haven't read the latest chatter, so if these have been mentioned, I say good minds think alike.

I can say that yours are all unique.

BFOON - of course for our loveable Canadian Buffoon (hey you called yourself that numerous times!)

DWHIP - for Dole Whip- cool treat for cool biker dude

MDLI4 - Mid-li-four (Mid-lifer)

PDUST - This could have dual meaning. Any Disney fan could see: Pixie Dust but it could be Pkondz Dust as you leave everyone in your dust on your cool bike

My fave from that list is MDLI4.

I have my Friday off so hoping to get some things done around the house (yucky-bills, tax prep) so that Sunday will be relaxing and DIS time
Have a good day!

Well, it's Sunday night now...
Hope you had a relaxing day!

Still no shout outs??? What kind of operation are you running here anyway?

Well... apparently a lackluster one!

Went back and saw your ad for snow removal. Are you free tomorrow or Sunday?

I was... but it's too late now.
Sorry. You'll just have to shovel on your own.

1 Alarm at 02:30 since your flight is the early flight
2 21 min wait for the bus so that I can have the correct wait time total - ha ha
3 I am going to go out on a limb and say Muppets Most Wanted because who doesn't love the Muppets?
4 Catch the connection ok
5 I don't drink coffee - I am a tea girl and I think that you don't drink coffee either.

Noted. And yes, you're right.

Bonus I guess I hadn't read enough of your trip reports to know about Marvin but I do now and I saw him hanging around on the stairs and I guess if you have to shovel so much snow you might as well go into the business.

It's my avatar, so... that's why he's around.

I will try and think about a license plate but I am off to Disneyland in 2 days so don't have lot of time left.

I don't know if I caught you in time. But... Have a great trip!

I don't know. Now it's been so long I forgot.

I do! I do! I've fallen behind and I can't get up

Get that gal a medical alert pendant!

It's all the rage with the millennials these days

So that's what's wrong with them!

I really liked it also, I've heard from others that they think it's boring. Not sure if I'd stand in line for 180 minutes for it, but it's cool. Frozen, cool....:rotfl:

No. pkondz does not stand in line for rides.
(Halloween characters however......)

Me neither. If I'm right on time, I'm late, if I'm actually late, I'm mortified

::yes::

So cool that you got to meet them! I bet that was fun

It was! Enjoyed meeting everyone.

Yup. But... I was in MK
so sadness went away quickly.

 But at least you have a DLR trip to look forward to!!

And the trip in between too.

3:30am

10 min

Since you have an all new appreciation for it, Frozen

Yes

Half double decaf half caff, but seriously I'm more of an English Breakfast tea kinda gal

Noted.

Yes, yes I did. You are one busy guy, plowing and airlines and all....
Edited to add Marvin in the Ditch

Busy, busy, busy!

And the bike plate suggestion, ODEAR could be Marvin the Martian or midlife crisis related!

Edited to add 999HH for your fav Haunted Mansion

That "ODEAR" is hilarious.

There are many that I like: pumpkin, amaretto, chocolate, macadamia, would like blueberry or banana too but can't seem to find those.

The horror!
I'll keep an eye out.

Considering I never
ever look for creamers,
you might have to wait for a bit.

What? No pictures?

Yes! I'll post them if you want?
(But you have to take full responsibility.)

Clever way to advertise your snow removal business

Marvin on the steps

Gotta drum up business somehow.

I've PMd you some options. Consider those my submissions.

Got 'em! Thanks!

Well, you could....

No... I couldn't.

And that depends. Maybe the other DISMeeter would be also? Then, it would be an equal proposition.

Nah. Then they'd just stink.

Eventually, you're gonna need one. But that would take time away from your DISMeet in most circumstances.

Or cause me to miss one altogether...

If we ever meet up there, I can guarantee there will be an altogether different dynamic going on here.

Such as?

This... well... this does not sound fun. I'm starting to think you have a very warped sense of "fun".

"Starting"?

Yes. Yes it was! In this case you are very right.

Yay! A first!!!

Was it my Ode to Rice Cream that tipped the scale?

:rolleyes1

Maybe.

(yes)

But in this case you are wrong.

Yes, a bit of strawberry with each bite. It's how it's done. You screwed up, so I insist you give it another shot.

I've left it on my "to eat" list.

Standing by for details...

... that I'll shamelessly steal.

Spare me. The numbers say something very differently. I love all of my readers/friends dearly, and all are welcome. Some chapters are better than others, and I do my best to keep up. :)

Wasn't kidding or exaggerating.

I tried on multiple occasions to get Margs from the carry out line as I had a few I wanted to try over the course of the trip. Only once was I able to get one without an hour wait. Not worth it.

No. Not an hour. I don't need one that badly.

Too bad my trip wasn't before yours. I'd have shown you the proper technique for securing a table in 15 minutes. ;)

 Well, I know now!

So, is this how I'll recognize you in March?

Possibly.... probably.

Pray tell, what did you have?

And... more?!

I do know I had two margaritas...
But don't remember which.

...but you had... ^MORE drinks. Things don't tend to go "well" after more tequila.

Well... you would know!

:rolleyes2

Never enough time for DISMeets.

Nope.

It's in Disney. A can of Chef Boyardee in a bowl would look appetizing.

 You may be right!!!

No. No you're not.

Meh.

We choked it down and called it fair to middling.

Pretty much my take. Meh.

Welcome to mere humanity. Sucks down here, doesn't it?

Merely an oversight.
It was quickly corrected.

Yeah... :sad2:

This is just not NOT done.

Ya got that right!!!

My mind couldn't help but ponder what led to this unfortunate series of events.

She wanted a Dole Whip, he told her the credit card had been maxed out.

She wanted to ride IaSW, and he showed just a hint of hesitation.

Did he suggest they skip their ADR the next day at Le Cellier?

He said no to the $200 Dooney bag?

 Could be Liesa... could be...

The better half of what makes a fun voyage.

::yes::

1. What time does the infernal alarm go off?

I think the WestJet flight is at 0550 direct. That means an hmmm... 0130 alarm. I'm really hoping you got some sleep on the plane.

2. How long do I wait for DUD (Disney's Un-magical Depress)?

10 minutes. (I wish it was 30 minutes, so my overall guess would be even ballpark close.)

3. I watch a Disney animated movie on the flight. Which?
Hint: Hadn't seen it before. Hint 2:Released this decade.

Finding Dory (it was on our plane too a month after)

4. Connecting flight. Do I make it?

Yes.

5. How do you take your coffee?

Espresso latte. 1 tsp raw sugar, foamed 2%, with plenty of crema if pressed correctly.
Noted.
And... holy crap.

YEP! Both of them in fact. That little guy gets around, and I hope he's read my TR so he can get into The Ditch faster than you did. ;)

 He has now.

That's it for now kiddies.

Tammie, glad to hear you're healing well.
Good luck tomorrow at work.
