Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Am I missing something? We are at bcv now and found linens in the closet for the pull out bed but what about a blanket for the Murphy bed? Ours just has a sheet.

I will do that, thanks! Did you use the generic guest services email address?
If you go back a few pages, someone kindly shared it.

We are finally staying in the Beach Club Villas at the end of the month, so excited. I apologize if this is covered already. What's the procedure for getting into storm a long bay. All of us will have magic bands. My elderly mother has requested not to use a band and rather get a card at check in. Not a fan of new technology and I am not going to argue. Can she show her Key to the Kingdom card? Are they able to scan that similar to magic bands? Also, will we get the paper bracelets to come in and out or do we need to show our bands each time? Just want to be prepared!!! Thank you!
We were never checked in December. There was sometimes a CM at the gate by the pool bar, never a CM at other entrances, and when I asked about paper bands, I was told there are now CMs making the rounds scanning bans, so leave your band on. No one ever asked to scan our bands. I am curious if this was a temporary or permanent change. Last year, same time period, we did get scanned at entry and paper bands. My ODD "collected" them on her wrist for about 6 months of wear. (Yuck, I know,) I am imagine if your mother is elderly, no one will challenge her.

I am going to open all the drawers but the bed takes up most of the TV counsel in the studio

Ours had a cabinet in front, drawers at the sides, and tv was above. Linens were in the cabinet.

That's a 1-bedroom villa, though. Note sure if it's the same in a studio.

We had linens in the closet but only one blanket and two sheets. There was nothing on the pull out couch and only a sheet on the Murphy bed

Some questions that I'm not sure I'll find seatching through this thread....

We're looking at the deluxe studio -- does that have 1 or 2 bathrooms? We're making a possible switch from the Poly and the studios over there has 2 bathrooms.

Did anyone switch over from a MK resort and regret it later? We've always stayed closer to MK, I don't know if I'm ready to switch, but the kids probably are!!

1 bathroom.

Did anyone switch over from a MK resort?

Yup.

and regret it later?

Not one bit! Being able to walk to 2 parks is such a huge plus. Being able to pop into the World Showcase on foot for a snack or a night cap is fantastic.

The Poly does not have 2 bathrooms. It has 2 bathing spaces, but only 1 toilet. That makes a huge difference.

That's annoying. You'd think they'd have the right amount of bedding for the beds already in the room. Was Mousekeeping at least prompt in bringing you some?

I was just having a wee juke at all the sit down table service restaurants in Magic Kingdom and discovered that several of them now serve wine ( not just Be Our Guest)! Obviously I've been living under a rock or something recently! How did I not know this?:confused3 Makes Tony's look a lot more attractive for dinner now :rotfl2:

Just so I'm keeping it relevant- how long after the park closes do the buses to YC/BC stop running?

The wine and beer in MK is pretty recent - caused quite a stir with some, but I think overall, it's a good move, as many, like me, do enjoy a glass or two with a good meal, rather than water, tea or lemonade...

Sooo excited to see the photos of the new YC rooms! (I understand they are possibly subject to change ) I think they are very, very pretty. I do understand not liking the lack of "Disney"theme, but still very pretty and nautical. Seeing all of the darker wood, brass elements and plank type flooring makes me immediately think of a cabin on a yacht or ship! Even all the built-ins are very typical of a ship cabin. The draperies.....too cute! Like a captain seeing the night sky to navigate the ship! Very Yacht Club-esque! I love it! ( A mickey lamp or Disney themed pillow would be a magical touch, but still a very pretty room!)
One more thing----No carpet=less dirt, allergens/rug chemicals. I'm definitely ok without it.

Does crews cup have a kids option? How's the burger there?
Very limited menu with no specific kid's options. Funny you should ask about the burger because when we went in October it was great! Nice burger with lettuce, tomato, & cheese $13.99. Good price and good burger. Fast forward to our January trip, the menu has changed a bit. The burger is now $18.99 and is adorned with the aforementioned toppings plus sautéed mushrooms, bacon and something called onion jam! I don't eat mushrooms but I am a "fungi to be with". We questioned the price increase and they said it was the beef. On top of that our burger came out rarer than rare and the fries were cold. We had ordered medium. They took it back and then they came out well done. We spoke with the manager who took care of it but suffice to say that after several years of using this quiet spot, we'll be moving on to other dining spots.

I've found the food at Hurricane Hanna's to be much superior to CC. And the Lounger/Table Servers are spot on too :)
