Disney Wonder - Galveston to San Jaun - January 20, 2017

P.S. For those of us staying at Harbor House, we get either a free appetizer or a discount (it was one or the other, I can not remember which it was) at the restaurants located right there adjacent to the Harbor House. All we have to do is show them our room key.

Speaking of restaurants....can anyone recommend one for us (either for lunch or dinner)? We are looking for one with the "Texan" taste/flair. I'm thinking spicy texmex food if it exists. All we hear about here in Ohio is that Texas has great restaurants and since we love spicy/mexican food, we have to try a local favorite.

Welcome to the group.
:welcome::welcome::welcome:
We had one other family join today, and they were wanting to join an FE also.
I have asked for other FEers to pitch in and adopt the cabin. The suggestion came back that I start a pixie dust list. I am placing you both on the pixie dust list. I also will start a late - late comers FE for the 2 of you (and any others that may come along).
I need you both to get your posts up to 10 (you have 9 more posts to go), so that I can message you with the FE spreadsheet info, and to get some information from you to share with those wanting to pixie dust you.
A good way to get your posts up is to start asking the group anything you are may want to know about the cruise.
We will see you in 2 weeks.

Is it too late to join this late FE group?

I've been compiling a restaurant list and Salsa's on Seawall Blvd (salsasgalveston.com) appears to get excellent reviews. Maybe one of the Texans or past Galveston cruisers here has been there.

Welcome to the group Okazoku!
:welcome::welcome::welcome:
It is not to late, but I am going to need you to either make 9 more posts so I can send you the message with the information needed for FE's, or share a few items here on the main thread. Some of the information is what I would consider private information, so I will let you decide.

Is anyone dropping a car at Enterprise in Galveston? Will you take a cab to the port or is it walkable?

Is it doable to do the MAyan Ruins in Cozumel with a private touring company, or is the timing too risky since it is such a long day? If so, which company would you recommend?

We still haven't decided what to do in Jamaica. It seems the Dunn'a River is a popular excursion, but with a 1 and 7 y/o, this seems a bit too much. I suppose we could leave our baby on the boat, but is it worth it? Any other recommendations in Jamaica for families?

Enterprise advertises that they will drop you off. I suggest giving them a call to see if they offer that service at the Galveston location.

How many cruises will this be for you? We are excited because this puts us at Gold!
This is our 7th on Disney!!

This cruise will be about a 100 degree temperature swing for us!!

This is typically at least a 5 hour excursion if not longer. Aside from the drive to the ruins, you would have to take a one hour ferry ride to the main land, and another one hour ferry ride back. I think it would be to risky.

Awesome! I will send you the FE message shortly.

I am waiting and watching the Galveston Cruise Cam. They have heavy fog, and the boat is not in yet. I pray this will not be our luck next week.

I think Okazoku is talking about the San Gervasio ruins that are on the island of Cozumel. No ferry necessary. We should have plenty of time for that.

I've got a reservation with Tours Plaza Cozumel (http://toursplaza.com - never used them myself, but other reviews rate them well). It's $107 for 3 hours plus $25 for each additional hour for up to four people; I think they can do larger groups as well.

I've heard you can also hire a taxi for the day when you get there.
