Boulder Ridge Cove, Geyser Point Bar & Grill Opening in Summer 2017 – Scheduled to open at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge in summer 2017, Boulder Ridge Cove pool will feature an expanded sun deck and zero-depth-entry pool in what appears to have been an abandoned rock quarry. Geyser Point Bar & Grill, a new quick-service eatery, will be located in the heart of the feature pool area of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Ok I don't know what I was thinking. I guess more wondering it will be on the dining plan but I would assume so since almost all QS is.

We're staying WL in early March. We are booked in a Standard View room. We have never stayed there before. With all the construction, we are a little stumped as to what room to request. It seems we usually end up either with a room slightly above our booked level by request or we just maximize our level by requesting the best room area available.

We typically try to get as close as possible to transportation with proximity to food being the second concern.

What's the go-to room in our situation?

Thanks to the WL vets!!

Since only the north side of the lodge is open, you don't have a lot of options. A room closest to the boats will be furthest from the buses. But the resort is very compact and nothing is really too far away from anything else. :) A room close to the elevator and on the fourth or fifth floor would be my suggestion. You should have a nice view of the fireworks from there. :)

I'm confused about this. The above states that the new Geyser Point Bar & Grill will be open in the summer, but the emails people are getting indicate it will be open when they come in February...

Maybe it's a soft opening and not the official. Just open so they can redo roaring forks. Which is weird because there was no mention of roaring forks being redone. It only said the pools and DVD stuff

Separate Disney entities are notorious for not communicating well. I'm convinced the new eatery will be open come February sometime; however, that some others at Disney haven't gotten the word isn't too surprising. I called DVC member services yesterday and was repeatedly told they had no such advisory or notification in the system. I'm sure that's true, as well. ;)

re: Geyser Point Bar and Grill - I am now compeltely confused as to what exactly this is going to be! We are returning to the lodge on 13th July (no letter regarding RF closure so I expect it will be well open by then)

I had originally read and thus assumed that Geyser Point was going to be a QS but after a bit of sniffing around t'interweb I have found various articles suggesting both Table and Quick service (which I hope is true as, although I like whispering canyon, I would also like a "normal" TS option at the lodge. Would also like a QS with more varied options than the RF (this will be a 4th visit so have used RF plenty in the past))

Official Disney site says "Beyond the new pool space, scheduled enhancements to the resort are “chugging along” and include a brand-new bar & grill, in addition to a quick-service restaurant."
Link: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...ties-coming-soon-to-disneys-wilderness-lodge/

Disneyfoodblog says "And next summer it will be home to a new table service restaurant - Geyser Point Bar & Grill. A new quick service restaurant is planned as well."
Link: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/tag/geyser-point-bar-grill/

And finally DVCnews says "Geyser Point Bar & Grill is the new waterside food service option under construction. The restaurant features both table service and quick service dining alternatives."
Link: http://dvcnews.com/index.php/resort...ge-construction-update-december-2016?start=12

Guess I will just have to wait and see once everyhting is fully open. Any thoughts?

You nailed it exactly. Perhaps once it opens in February (assuming it does), we'll find out. Until then, your comment directly above applies: Guess I will just have to wait and see once everything is fully open. :thumbsup2

Need some advice!!! Just got my room ready text.... even though I'm still in Vermont we land really late tonight. Anyhoo have standard room booked. Text for room at the far end of hall on 5. View looks awesome from touring plans but it says it's a queen bunk bed room woods view? My twins are four I don't think they can use a bunk bed. There isn't another bed in the room right? Who do I call? Thanks!

well we are all settled in to the 6th floor and our MK view is SPECTACULAR. I honestly can't believe it. All I can really compare it to is the view from the Poly CL lounge since our room at the poly was garden view. Anyway, it's amazing and wicked close, I would share a picture but my phone can't do it justice. Daughter vomited on the airplane and then proceeded to continue on our whole magical express ride to the resort... all contained thanks to large garbage bag from the terminal but I still feel terrible. Poor kid, poor fellow passengers. Completely no warning she was totally fine all day today. I have never been so thankful for direct to room! Can't wait to check out the resort more tomorrow, I was fairly distracted walking through the lobby but my son was going bananas over everything! Thank you for the view/room tips, gang, they did not disappoint!

You sound so cheerful for someone who just had your day! I hope daughter is better today so you can have some fun!

Any idea what rooms, in the villas, we would be able to see the lake from?
Odd numbers, and for the best view, floors 3, 4, or 5. Even numbers are on the bus stop side of the VWL resort. Floor 1, of course, is ground view, and while the second floor would provide some view of the lake, you'll be about even with the tops of the new cabins. The remaining three floors should give you good views of the lake. . .and the construction. ;)
