Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Next year, we're going to switch resorts, and we will go at the AKL. I believe the policy here would be the same, would anyone be able to confirm? Thanks!
We stayed AKL CL in 2014 and yes, it was the same. You had to ask a CM for it and they had to open bottled beer for you. This made it difficult to take back to the room for "later".

This is something that I have put some thought into. On our last trip to the BWI CL I brought a basket full of individual wrapped maple sugar candies. We come from upstate NY and they came from a neighbors farm. I really wanted to bring maple syrup but didn't trust it in the luggage. I think they appreciated it and those who wanted them could take some. I would love to hear anybody else's ideas though.
We did something similar at BC. I brought a basket with bison and elk jerry and a bunch of different huckleberry candies. We are from Montana so it was all from local shops. Everyone though it was so unusual but seemed to like it.

For those of you who have stayed club in the past few months, how did you handle tipping the club CM's? Especially looking for information on Kilimanjaro Club at AKL.

We have been told they will not/can not accept monetary tips. Does that include gift cards? I was thinking of making a gift basket with some hometown special gifts in it. How many CMs will there be?

So what if anything have the rest of you done? Am I over thinking this and maybe this is too much?
I think you are overthinking it and I agree that the vast majority of people probably do not tip. If there was someone there who went above and beyond I would consider a small box of candy or better yet, a letter about them to Disney.

Agree! We stay CL almost every trip. Have been to Y&B, BWI, CR & GF RPC, We have never tipped any of them. I will say we have never needed any special assistance. I make & change my own ADRs, book any tours or special parties myself & call bell services myself for any luggage pick ups etc. Never any special requests from the lounge staff either. If there is anyone who seems extra friendly I do try to note their name & mention them in the surveys we always get after our stay.

This.
Like @focusondisney I also make a note of extra special CM's and mention them by name in surveys.

My wife and I really enjoyed our CL trip at the GF. We sent a postcard of the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris the next time we went there (this is our “home” resort) to the GF, mentionned by name the casts we thought have been the most helpful. I'm not sure the postcard went through, but hope they did get it!

QUOTE="lyndeah, post: 56933085, member: 358793"]We LOVE the CL at Poly but have decided to try GF next. Can someone tell me what the MAIN differences are between Sugar Loaf and Royal Palm is? I keep hearing Royal Palm is nicer but if food and alcohol offerings are the same - why?[/QUOTE]
We stayed SL o our last trip. I found the offerings to be no different then RPC. The lounge however is very different. You do not get that atmosphere that you get at RPC. The band playing, the beautiful views, the spacious lounge. I also liked having the convenience of everything being in the one building..... stores, lobby. Monorail. I would stay at SL again since price is the big difference really but if I had the extra cash would definitely prefer the RPC. The resort is beautiful and I think you would be happy with either choice but I would do SL first so that you wont be disappointed next time around :goodvibes

I posted this question on the Wilderness Lodge thread, then realized it might be more appropriate for this one. I was wondering if someone could tell me where the Club Level Access Deluxe Rooms are? Are they located on the same floor as the club lounge? Proximity to the main lobby? We've stayed at the WL a couple of times in past years but those were in standard rooms.

Thank you!

Very common question, made harder with the construction at the moment because there's a lot of old info out there. I'm running out so can't find the link, but if you search for posts from me towards the end of November you can find my room map, photos, and photos of the new lounge. I'll try to post links later today.

But in the meantime here's a map that should be helpful. This is the third floor but would be the same for other floors as well. #1 and #2 are the location of the Deluxe Rooms. 2 per floor, floors 1-6 only (there aren't any on the 7th floor). There used to be other Deluxe Rooms around but they have been taken by DVC construction. #3 is the elevator. #4 is the CL lounge (although, on the 7th floor).

One of my posts had my average walking time from room to lounge... I'm thinking it was 2 minutes, 40 seconds, but need to check my post to confirm.

Hope that helps!

I am sure this has been discussed somewhere in this 360+ page thread but search was not giving me what I was looking for. I am coming up in Nov for a Poly 6 night stay. I am currently booked in standard room with regular dining plan. I am trying to decide for a family of five (who will likely be eating breakfast on our own dime leaving TS and CS credits for lunch and dinner) the cost to upgrade to club level for lounge breakfast is comparable to eating on your own.

A quick price suggestion is expect to spend ~$200 per day or more depending on season or discounts for a CL room in the same room view booking class.

Ok so I need some opinions. We are headed to Disney for our 6th trip in dec. We stayed at BC in 2014.... first time for club level. DH and I loved club level but he wasn't sure if he wanted to pay for it again (even though he loved it even more than me).
As a surprise I booked club level for our Dec trip and was hoping to surprise him...well... he's starting to get excited about our ADR'S and I'm wondering if I should let the secret out. He will be overjoyed (since I've already paid for the trip) but it will change a few things.

Very cool! If you husband likes surprises and this would be a big one for him, then let it wait until you get there. If he's not that into surprises and you don't think he'd be blown away by it, let him know a few days in advance so the anticipation of the trip can be amplified.

It sounds like his knowing about CL mighth impact the ADRs selected? I know that when we stay CL, our number of and specific ADRs are adjusted otherwise we are either feeling guilty about wasting too much food at restaurants since we have taken advantage of CL lounge offerings or feeling that we are not really taking time to stop and enjoy the relaxing time in the lounge.

My personal view is that he might be happy with the surprise earlier so you can both share the excitement of discussing how best to take advantage of the expanded possibilities that a CL stay can offer. In the end, you know your husband better than us.

By looking at your signature, you will be at the BWI club level. Tell your husband! When we were there in December, my husband loved what the chef was cooking in the lounge and was disappointed we would be leaving for dinner soon. It was nice too, for me because I could enjoy a small taste and still go to dinner, but some of our adrs were early so we missed the appetizers. They are repeated through the week though. You are in for a real treat staying there though!

Hi, I was hoping that someone could help me. I have searched but can't find the answer. Does anyone know which floor the BC CL 1 Bedroom suites are located? I can't find whether they are all on the 4th or also on the 5th. We are trying to choose between that and a Deluxe BWI CL. We would like to be close to the lounge.

So far we have already planned 2 signature restaurants and we alead planned to stay away from breakfast TS meals (basically because our teens cannot seem to wake up for breakfast AND stay awake later in the evening).
I think I will wait until a week or 2 closer to the trip and let him in on the secret. Thanks everyone for the replies.
