What types of beers are available at AKL CL? thanks

I have been trying to look this up too. I can find photos and video from 2014 that show Indaba wines from S Africa; Tusker, Heineken, Yuengling, and Bud Light beers; and Kahlua, Amarula, Grand Marnier, and Courvoisier liquiors. There appear to be 2 other beers in the video but I can not see what they are:

Hi! I've stayed CL for almost 10 years and am bummed to find out that the advanced planning (IPO) is no longer a perk. Does anybody know if the concierges will still assist with reservations and planning once you are onsite? I relied on this service heavily in the past and after being on hold for almost an hour just to make a single reservation through the main disney number, I really hope they still offer some assistance in this regard. In case it matters, we will be at Grand Floridian RPC in February. Thanks!!

Yes, IPO will be able to assist you once you check in.

I'm pretty sure PP meant that you could ask for beer/wine any time of the day. All of the CLs put beer/wine out for evening apps starting at 5 (some are self serve, some have a CM attendant). In all of the CLs I've stayed (Poly, GF RPC, CR, WL, BC) you could ask for beer/wine pretty much anytime. I've seen people drinking a beer in Poly CL way early in the day! (It wasn't me, promise).

Poly is generous with the plastic cups as well so it's so easy to grab one coming/going to the pool.

Ahhhh! Ok, that makes sense! I never asked for it earlier. I think my kids would have kicked me in the shins.

Last month I had concierge help me cancel reservations without penalty and add others for me. They were very helpful. I couldn't get everything I wanted (Christmas week at Chef Mickeys or Ohana), but we were very happy with their help.

We have been doing the same.

My Son-in-law has friends from Kenya and they introduced him to Tusker. He says he really likes it and is looking forward to having it again. My hubby is hoping for some unusual beers. He would also like some hard ciders as that is his new preferred drink. I wonder if you can ask for something different?

I don't know what the other offerings are at the AKL CL, but I do love the Casablanca beer you can get at the AKL. So good!

Lol, I see your edit about CR! ;-)

I'm actually surprised there's not any availability today. Is Christmas one of your days? Are you trying to edit your existing reservation with the extra days or just looking at room availability for those days separately?

I'm generalizing but I tend to find the more expensive CL rooms at the MK resorts - eg, CR Atrium TPV or Poly TPV - tend to have pretty good availability this far out, unless it's a big holiday or something. I'd probably try calling given your circumstance.

Not Christmas it is the beginning of December. I am not editing at all, I am just calling and having them do it each time and so far nothing. I usually only want them to do it since I don't trust myself online. Each time I have called I have gotten nothing available TPV and since we have it for the other 10 days of our trip it's the only thing I want! LOL! If I have to change rooms, I would rather just try out a different resort or head over to Universal or something before checking in to the atrium club. I was just surprised to see all those rooms taken and we call almost every other day. I did even ask about upgrading the entire stay to a tower room and still nothing for the entire stay.

We are heading that way in 21 days! I have a question for anyone with trips coming up....I received our Magicbands and boy are they funky. I must have missed the new MB announcement. Has anyone seen these? I wondering if I can make them smaller for tiny wrists. They are lighter but bigger.

I know I can probably find the answer somewhere else I just really like this group...

That's nice! We were just there for ten nights and didn't see alcohol until 5pm. Maybe this has changed?

Alcohol stays in the kitchen until 5pm, however we were able to ask a cast member for a beer or champaign at any time of the day. I think the earliest we asked for a alcoholic drink was 12am. We could request a plastic glass by saying we're going to the pool.

Next year, we're going to switch resorts, and we will go at the AKL. I believe the policy here would be the same, would anyone be able to confirm? Thanks!

Omg they have no Samuel Adams? I love this beer so much, I live in France and it's so expensive here. I hope the other beers will be great when we'll go the AKL next summer!

I don't remember seeing Sam Adams at AKL. The one place I recall Sam Adams wasn't at AKL, it was at Martha's Vineyard. It's a lounge in the Beach Club Resort.

Hopefully their drinks and bar snacks will be something you can stop and enjoy when you're in the Epcot or Hollywood Studios area.

Thanks!!! Good to know that you can still get some help. Any "new" perks for staying CL, or are they just taking stuff away.

For those of you who have stayed club in the past few months, how did you handle tipping the club CM's? Especially looking for information on Kilimanjaro Club at AKL.

We have been told they will not/can not accept monetary tips. Does that include gift cards? I was thinking of making a gift basket with some hometown special gifts in it. How many CMs will there be?

So what if anything have the rest of you done? Am I over thinking this and maybe this is too much?

This is something that I have put some thought into. On our last trip to the BWI CL I brought a basket full of individual wrapped maple sugar candies. We come from upstate NY and they came from a neighbors farm. I really wanted to bring maple syrup but didn't trust it in the luggage. I think they appreciated it and those who wanted them could take some. I would love to hear anybody else's ideas though.

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised nothing is available. I guess the length of your stay actually is hurting you in this case.

Although I'll offer an unsolicited opinion - I LOVE LOVE LOVE CR CL, but I'm not so sure I love it for 10 or more nights. CR is sort of my "go to" resort when I'm going for a shorter stay. I'm so torn on this though. I love the TPV rooms and CL there, but I despise the pool (which is important for us). We've had some of the best CL CMs at CR so I like going there for that alone, but still, 10 nights is A LOT.

I know split stays can be a total pain, but that's probably what I would do if I were in your shoes just to spice it up a bit.

When we were at the GF RPC last spring they had Sam Adams cold snap and in Dec. at the BWI CL they had Sam Adams winter lager. My husband loves Sam Adams but we live in NY so he can have it whenever he wants. He got a kick out of your comments though. He days he remembered it being served in the American pavilion at EPCOT as well.

You are going to Poly.... I'm JEALOUS! I will be there President's Day weekend and I am more jazzed up for that trip than I've been in awhile for some reason.

But YES, they recently changed the MBs to a new design. I think they started shipping them to people with reservations in 2017. I think you can wear it as a pendant if you want to?

You can always use one of your old MBs if you really hate the new one.

If I might ask what is your date range in Dec. 2017, and are you trying to apply a discount or offer?

For example I just checked on-line for a Contemporary TPV Atrium CL for Dec. 3-16, 2017 and I am able to select a room only offer. If you don't want to share you date range here, please consider calling Disney directly and have the Phone CM search adjusting your start date range by one or two days earlier or later. There are often better days to start your stay.
