touringplans.com worth the $?

Love it! I love using it just to plan....but I will freely admit I enjoy overplanning. I didn't use the plans too much after I created them - though they helped give me good ideas about scheduling FPs and such - but I loved The Lines app when in Disney.

Yes absolutely worth it. The Lines app is so much more accurate than Disney's wait times. Our last trip we got in line for 7DMT at a Christmas Party. Disney wait time was 45 min. TP Lines wait time 23 min. We were 23 min exactly from entering the line to stepping onto the ride. Had we gone by the posted wait we would never have ridden it

I've just planned my next trip using TP and the plans were ever so helpful in arranging my FP times I wanted to book. We may not stick to the whole plan each day but it's been a great tool for our last trip and this coming one for seeing what's possible and how we want to move round the parks

I should have read this before posting my answer. I could have just said ditto :)

One other benefit I re-remembered this morning while setting up my DHS TP. I tend to vastly underestimate how long it takes to actually do things so it's actually helpful for me not to overschedule (as counter intuitive as that might seem) and have us running around like chickens. Especially at DHS with all the shows.

I subscribed every year until I discovered Josh's website, as I found his crowd calendars to be quite accurate (and free). Now that Josh is no longer doing the crowd calendars, I plan to subscribe to touringplans again. I didn't even know about the ADR feature and hear that is awesome! Happy planning!

Got it first time last year, can't say that I've loved it but I don't know that I've taken advantage of all it does. That said, for less than the price of a WDW cheeseburger, I'll probably renew.

This is exactly what I was going to say! Even if I don't really end up using the touring plans I create, the exercise of making them helps me have more realistic expectations of time constraints, especially when juggling shows like in DHS!

My understanding is that Josh has started to do crowd calendars again - I believe he posted January today - just fyi for your planning enjoyment!

Yes... thank you! Right after I posted this reply I saw another thread with that news! I am very happy that Josh has started doing the calendars again! I still may subscribe to touringplans because of the ADR service. I've heard great things about it!

This will be my 4th trip and I wouldn't go without it. Considering the price you pay for everything else, this is peanuts. The dinner reservation finder is a blessing. I am an overplanner so I love the touring plans. The lines app is always dead on. I also use the room reservation fax. Love it.

That alone makes it worth the 12 bucks

A Touring Plans subscription is defintely worth it! I use both that site and easywdw to plan our trips.

One other suggestion for using plans . . .. to avoid being OVER planned, and give yourself the chance to smell the roses, take in the details, and "wing it" a little, I find it is good to plan out my mornings, from rope drop until lunch time. I fit as much into this time as I can, and follow a plan to accomplish it. After lunch, there is generally no set plan, and we take our time through the afternoon, perhaps jumping on a ride with a short line, revisiting a favorite, playing sorcerers of the MK, or shopping, or what ever tickles our fancy. This gives us the best of both worlds. The planed out morning helps us to get the most from our day, and allows us to make sure that over the course of our trip, we do everything that we want to. The unplanned afternoons give us time for spontaneity, and taking in the details we might miss if we rushed from ride to ride all day.

Well not to sound like a broken record, and I know the OP has already purchased it, but YES definitely worth it! I love that you can design a plan for the ages of your group (all adults, preschoolers, etc) and then customize and rearrange the plan, then submit it for evaluation. When we (all adults) went for one day to Epcot a couple years ago, everyone was amazed at how well the tool worked. It was so easy to follow on my phone.
