I unexpectedly met Oliver and made a fool of myself....ugh

So I have been watching the Disunplugged podcast for a couple of years now. I really enjoy the content because I love WDW, and also enjoy the personalities of the entire team. It's almost like when you watch a favorite TV show or Soap Opera...you feel like you get to know these people. Anyway, we were visiting WDW the first week of December. One morning, our family group of 6 were having breakfast at Boma. We had just finished a fabulous breakfast and were about to give my brother in law, sister in law, and niece a tour of AKL (we were staying at Beach Club). As the 6 of us got on the elevator, I was about to press the lobby floor button and the doors were closing, I suddenly saw a man approaching with luggage. I put my arms in front of the door and asked if he would like to come in. When I looked up...it was Oliver. So funny! I instantly recognized his face but for some reason I went into a mental block and weird frenzy where I couldn't think. Perhaps because I was not expecting to see a DisUnplugged team member while on vacation. I was so beyond surprised to see him....and my family tells me that my facial expression was priceless because my jaw dropped as if I were seeing the ghost of Walt Disney himself (nobody in my family watches Disunplugged so they had no idea who the heck he was or what was going on). I blurted out "I know you" and said something like "your my Disney podcast buddy but I can't think of your name"....I KNEW HIS NAME....I KNOW ALL OF THEIR NAMES...I just had a moment of temporary insanity....LOL! He was so sweet. He got on the elevator and all I know is I road the elevator up and down a few times with him not even realizing that my family had gotten off! My husband tells me that as they stood outside the elevator door, in the lobby, the doors opened and closed several times but I did not appear! (We had many good laughs about this later). Oliver was so very gracious and kind. I think I hugged him 3 times and took a selfie with him. I'm sorry I was so silly....but it certainly made for a fun and funny WDW memory. Thank you Oliver.

@Olly I just tagged him, so he'll see your sweet message. I'm sure he totally understands the "being thrown off balance" by seeing him, and will be very touched by your admiration. :) I know he said his parents always get a kick out of it. :) Heck - I always get "discombobulated" by seeing somebody "out of context" (like a coworker @ WDW, or somebody from your Dr's office @ Staples, or something). Thank you for sharing your story with us, and I'm glad you FINALLY got off that elevator to write it. :)

VERY cool I'm glad he was amazing in person as he is on the video - it sucks when you meet someone and their nasty!
He couldn't have been sweeter or nicer! And I'm pretty certain he was thinking "this lady is nuts and I'm stuck on an elevator with her!" He is also very handsome, and I mean that in a mother/son sort of way. My daughters can't be too much younger than he is!

Definitely not a problem with the DIS crew. I've met all of the Florida team and all but a couple of the California team and they are all great people. I know they say it all the time but if you happen to see any of them in the parks or wherever, go up and say hello. They sincerely do love meeting and talking to viewers/listeners.

When I see you the theme park of New York City remember you said that!

This is just so cute. I met Craig and Ryan in US last spring and did not have the presence of mind to take a photo!

This past October, I had the pleasure of meeting Steve in the Frozen line in Norway. He was very nice and thanked me for saying hi!

Lol - love that story and the Picture.

On my last trip in Nov I got to meet Oli (twice in two days, he probably thought he had a stalker) and Craig, Kylie and Steve they were all so lovely.

Which was so nice as it make the trip that little bit more special.

Hopefully on my next trip I get to spy the rest of the team, yay a new holiday game to play - Dis team bingo lol.

When I ran into Ollie at Epcot while drinking around the world. I was so excited I offered to buy him a drink. We hung out in the Rose and Crown having a few Boddintons until I realized he had no idea why I was talking about the Dis...and Oliver isn't blonde...or a girl. I spent $30 for no reason, and she expected dinner too, all because of an accent.
