***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Disney updated hours. I checked my week (12/4-12/9) and they didn't alter MK hours more than they had, so for the time being my ppo BOG on 12/5 is still good. The next week seems to be 9-11 at MK on non party nights. Starting the 17th they open at 8am almost every day with a lot of 7-8 EMH.

Didn't notice any changes to any other parks at least my week. No changes to AK.

Grr, I'm so aggravated right now. My MIL was planning on watching our dogs and staying at our house while we're gone. I was talking to DH about Thanksgiving, and he casually mentions that she got a job (I didn't even know she was looking...she gets my FIL's SS death benefits.) Anyway, then he tells me her new job starts on December 1...which is the day before we leave! I'm pretty upset because now I don't know what to do. She lives an hour away and has a horrible mean cat who my dogs don't get along with. I feel like crying right now. They don't do well with over dogs besides each other, so they can't go to a kennel. I'm so upset and DH doesn't understand why, which is making me more upset. I love my dogs and don't trust them with just anybody. It's my biggest fear that somehow they'll escape if they stay at someone else's house. I feel like just cancelling everything at this point. :sad1::sad:

That's tough...I'm pretty picky about my dogs, too...although there is one local kennel that they like. Check with you local vets...sometimes there are vet techs that check in on dogs...ours is cheaper than kenneling them.

Hey there.
We are sooooo picky with our dog. He is everyone in our house's baby. We have had my parents keep our dogs in the past and even get nervous with them watching them, that is how picky we are.

Anyway, about 3 years ago we tried DogVacay and never looked back. It is online and you meet people in your area who watch dogs in their home. The woman we found is amazing. You meet with them with your dog/dogs first to see how everyone vibes and ask questions, etc. The woman we found actually brought up things that I didn't even think of. She texts us photos and stories while we are away. She even notices aspects of our dog's personality that I didn't even mention. So it feels like he is in amazing care. I have felt so great going that route, that even if the woman we currently have wasn't available, I know through the meeting process, we would find someone else. Many of the people on there work from home, are dog trainers, etc. If you don't like someone, try someone else. I really like knowing he is safe. For some reason, even when my parents would watch our dogs, I would still be fearful that they would get out.
Another of those sites is called Rover I think. Good luck! I understand.

ETA: Oh and I just read your fear with your pups at other's houses. I swear I guess I don't completely read anything anymore. Sorry! I'm the same, but meeting dog sitters who do it "professionally" has helped. I have a friend that has had great luck with a college age neighbor staying at their house.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! I have no dogs so can't really offer any advice. But want to give you a hug  I'm sure you would find a solution and not cancel your vacay!

@areno79 I am sorry--nothing worse than getting something sprung on you and having the other person act bewildered about why you are upset.
Have the dogs been boarded before? Most kennels don't allow the dogs to mix, except the ones that are bunking together. So the other dogs shouldn't be an issue, as long as they take each set of dogs out separately (the ones near me do).
Does DH think she is going to stay over anyway? Is the cat going to be stashed in its own room away from the dogs? Did he have some solution in mind? (Since he was so casual and not upset about it, just wondering)?
@Winniebell10 those are good ideas, for sure.
Fingers crossed for a good solution!

Yep. I had/have 2 things that I need to get out of the way first:
1. Dentist. I have issues with going to the dentist and it was time for my cleaning and check up today. Got that done (phew!) and happily had no cavities. :)

2. Bug guy comes tomorrow (pest control). I have issues with strangers invading my castle (my home). I hate it and try really hard to make sure he comes during dh's lunch break so I can just go lock myself in our bedroom until he's gone. Once that's out of the way, hopefully I'll be able to focus on Disney again.

I went to the dentist on Thursday for my 6 month cleaning/checkup as well. I do not like going either and am also thank goodness cavity free.

Two huge things out of the way! I am calling pest control today if I didn't catch the mouse in the cellar!!! It is torturing our dog to hear it under the house. My son said, "the only mouse I like is Mickey!" I agree, hate feeling invaded.

I said the same thing as your son when I was the unlucky person to see a few mice a few years ago. We are so lucky to have a pest control service we pay monthly for that comes once per season and you can call to set up additional services if you have a rodent issue or start seeing bugs between visits which is rare for us. I thnk having the service really helps keeps those things away. We get pretty much the same guy and he is great. They have dog friendly spray but we have the dog go on the opposite floor from where he is to give her a little time for the smell to go away.

exactly 2 weeks from today and I will be on my way to the airport!
Still didn't confirm how I'm getting there

:moped:

Us too! We have a very early flight and are using a car service. We are trying a new one since the one we used for years no longer does early pickups so hopefully this one is just as good. I have 3 work days this week and then 4 the following week.

I hear you...I am the same way with my cat. My parents used to watch him until they got another cat and they fought so my mom said no more visits from our kitty. Fortunately our neighbors take him.

I think that your arrival day is our departure day. It will be nice to read about your trip. It will extend the fun a little longer for me.

We have been busy cleaning out the basement. We have a huge dumpster in front of our house and we want to take advantage of it while we can.

We plan to start packing for Disney next weekend.

Well I'll be happy to help prolong your fun a little bit longer! :goodvibes

I know a few people have mentioned it but just curious how many are doing the CP. We go on our arrival day 12/2 with dinner at Chefs for the 8:15 pm show. Whoopi Goldberg is our narrator.

I am! I have a Teppan Edo dinner reservation on 12/7 for the 8:15pm show. My narrator is Anthony Mackie, new this year!

So I know I mentioned on here a while ago that I was going to finally treat myself to the oil slick hair dye treatment I've been wanting, and I know not all of you guys are on fb, so I figured I'd post a pic here. I'm really loving it!

@areno79 def look into petsitting services, like others have mentioned. I'm fortunate in that I have a colleague who also runs a petsitting service with her husband, who takes care of my 2 kitties, but I really like the idea of what Winniebelle10 suggested, where you get to meet the person in advance and get to know them.

@DisneyBelle27 your hair looks amazing! Did it take a long time to do?

It did take a long time, lol. First she had to lift my color (lighten it), and she did that in the balayage style. Then she went back and put all the different colors into it. She painted the sections of hair, and did 2 colors per section, blue blending into green and vice versa, and pink blending into purple and vice versa. But I'm so happy with it! And it looks different in each type of lighting I'm in. I have so much respect for people with skills like this, I could never ever accomplish this! And as the different colors fade I'll be left with the lighter balayage again, which can then have a toner put in it to adjust the shade. I might go for a rose gold, that would be cool!

WOW--awesome hair!
I go Monday, also doing balayage, but not sure what colors.

Thanks everyone. I have been super emotional lately (likely due to Thanksgiving and missing my grandmother), so everything seems like it's amplified 1000%. :(
DH called my SIL, and she's going to watch the pups at her house, so yay! I'm still a little nervous they'll somehow escape, but to be honest I worry about that even when someone watches them at our house which is fenced in. I did check out dogvacay.com, and also one of my good friends that lives close by offered to spend a few nights at my house if necessary, so we had another plan if my SIL or MIL didn't work out.
Anyway, I'm feeling better about it now. DH and I went to Sam's Club tonight and bought another Disney GC, a 2-pack portable phone charger, and the. went to dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant in which I got buzzed (okay drunk) off of a beer and a rumchata martini. I think I needed to unwind after the emotional day I've had. :) Oh, and I finished my mousekeeping envelopes today :)

Ok, so my wife's account had an ADR for 3 (her + 2 kids) for Wishes Holiday Dessert party for 12/4 MVMCP. I've been stalking it and found an opening for 1 (me) and tried to cancel hers and book as a party of 4 but it didn't work. So she picked hers back up immediately and then I just booked the single ADR for myself. Since no one has posted any reviews of it I don't know if they do reserved seating or not. Strange.

Your hair looks awesome! I so wish I could do that to my hair but my boss would freak out. I have to represent my office in court a few times a week and I don't think she would be too happy. I once dyed the ends pink and she gave time dirty looks for weeks.
