Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

No - I never got an email when either one shipped for some reason. May be that it went to my travel agent. She's at Disney right now but I'll definitely be checking in with her if they don't arrive in the next day or two!

That could be why you don't have an email. I'm not sure where else you can track them.

As far as what I bring in my park bag--I'm used to only having a fanny pack (I know, I know, so unfashionable) so I pack the bare minimum--phone and portable charger, Driver's License, debit card, some cash, Ibuprofen, and my park ticket. This year, however, I got talked into a small backpack, so I'll be adding a rain poncho (friend wants to ride Kali River Rapids and I don't want to walk around soaked), snacks (beef jerky is a must, along with snack crackers), and probably some band-aids and possibly hand sanitizer. Also water bottles, but we usually carry those in our hands unless we're on a ride.

Ugh am so excited!!!

Oh yes!! We have 2 external battery chargers and dedicated cords. Between MDE, Facebook, and Pokémon go I expect my phone to be charging almost constantly on the go ;)

I only have a couple things left to get. Clorox wipes and plastic spoons for the room, a black clicky Sharpie, a few Christmas decorations for the room, ponchos, replacement filters if I decide to bring the water bottles. Mini M&Ms for the containers for change for the penny machines.

Park bag - Small first aid kit including EpiPen, ponchos, possibly some extra clothes for the 2 younger kids, hand sanitizer, phone charger, mints, possibly water bottles and baby wipes. ID, maybe a little cash. I'm probably forgetting a bunch of stuff. I don't know if anyone else here is a Vera Bradley fan but I bought one of my souvenirs in advance, a Vera tote in the Magical Mickey print, it's too cute! It's going to be my larger park bag in the stroller, along with my mini hipster in Plum's Up.

To do - This week is packing for me as well. Suitcases need to come out. Need to organize the autograph supplies and pennies/quarters for the penny machines. I still have to apply MB decals though I did finally finish our sweatshirts, I'm really happy with how they turned out -

@kellyjeanie those sweatshirts turned out great! Love them logo!
Thanks! I got them from 43nineteen on Etsy, she even threw in a bunch of I <3 Mickey decals for free. Speaking of which...I ironed one onto my pin binder and melted the vinyl a little bit. DH swears it's not noticeable but it's driving me nuts, lol.

So last night DH got really excited over pressed pennies of all things. :confused3 So I was looking into how many there are and geez oh pete! I'm trying to figure out what a reasonable amount of coins to take is. But I also wanted to have a plan for them when we got home. I'm sure we'll be making a photo book of the trip afterwards and we could attach them to pages in there. But I also saw this and thought it was really cool. If we did it on rustic wood, it would even fit our decor at home.

I counted. 137 pennies and 19 quarters (I think). That totals $84.12. Not terribly bad for a Disney souvenir really. But is it possible or advisable to try to get this many coins pressed in one trip? It does sound fun to track them down during our park touring and resort hopping. I found this website with tons of info: http://www.themouseforless.com/disney-downloads/pocket-guides/pressed-coins-checklists/

What is everyone else's plan for pressed coins? I see a lot of people are putting coins on their packing list and park bag lists. :D

That's neat, @JamieOak! I don't really have a plan for ours, they're still in the M&M container we brought them home in 3 years ago, haha. Occasionally the kids will spread them out and look at them. For us at this point it's more about the act of getting them, cheap souvenir/activity, etc. I'm thinking about maybe adding some coin pocket pages to our pin binder to at least make them easier to look at. I saw some jewelry ideas on Pinterest that I lack the skill for but maybe some day.

I did see neat jewelry ideas, but I must admit that I am not a jewelry person myself. I basically just wear my wedding rings, and even those I was looking for as small as possible.

I'm so excited, we just interviewed (and offered a job) to someone that is going to Disney the same time my family is! They are going to Vero for a couple days first, too! She's not on here though. Pretty excited to talk planning with someone who actually knows what I'm talking about.

Congrats on the job offer!!! My boss is leaving for Disney tomorrow. It is totally neat to have people to talk to Disney about. He doesn't know what I'm talking about half the time though. He said he'll report back to me when he gets back, which is just 3 days before I leave.

Must be the day for it - I spent my lunch time today helping a coworker with a first Disney trip!

They are decorated! Well I think I'm going to order a black glitter Mickey head for the purple band because it looks naked compared to the others. Then they'll be done. The only one I'm disappointed in was Brad's camo skin. It was the hardest to apply and I'm super OCD about things so the fact that it doesn't line up 100% right bugs me. But Brad loves it and that's what really matters. :rotfl:

I love them! Make sure me totally jealous that I didn't order any!

My to do list this week: order the band decals that have been sitting in my Etsy cart!!!!

We will be traveling without a stroller in the parks for the first time!!!!:cool1: My youngest is now 9. So, the thought of no stroller to put stuff in is frightening!!! We would stuff sweatshirts underneath and all sorts of other stuff! And a place to put your cup! It will be nice, but we'll just have to get use to no stroller! DH and I both carry small backpacks and our kids are a bit older, so we try to travel a little lighter.
