Most Convenient Resort

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. I'm looking for opinions on the most convenient resort. Meaning, if you were to pick one resort (moderate or above) based only on convenience, which would it be? By convenient, I mean within the resort. I don't want to have to walk a long way to the dining options, pool, bus stops, etc. I'm not as concerned about length of bus rides, although multiple bus stops are kind of a pain and go along with the large, spread out resorts I'm trying to avoid. Thanks in advance for any input.

The Poly. You can walk to the TTC to catch monorail to Epcot or MK. You can also monorail to GF or CR, as well as MK & TTC. There is a boat that goes to MK & GF. The property isn't that big, so walking isn't difficult. The pools are central on the property. It is definitely has conveniences if you can handle the price tag.

I feel that the Epcot resorts, Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, and the Swan/Dolphin, are the most convenient. You can walk or boat to Epcot and HS. Bus service to AK and MK works fine. There are plenty of dining options nearby. Especially if you consider all of the possibilities in Epcot. The pool at the BC/YC is arguably the nicest on site.

We have stayed at the Boardwalk many times and really enjoyed being able to just wander into Epcot in the evenings.

For us, it's the Beach Club or Yacht Club. You can walk or take the boat to Epcot right into the international gate. We had quite a few dinners at the different countries in Epcot so this was very convenient. You can also walk or take the boat to Hollywood Studios. You can also walk to the Boardwalk where we also ate dinner one night. The resort itself isn't too big and we found it easy to navigate and to get to everything. I think it really depends on where you plan on eating and which parks you will spend most of your time. The mornings we went to MK we took the bus, but took the monorail to TTC and then to Epcot on our way home. We enjoyed the walk through Epcot, hitting a few rides and grabbing a snack on our way back to the BC.

To me it totally depends on which parks you want to spend the most time in. Poly for us is great when we spent a ton of time in MK and our boys were younger. It was great to come back from the park via the monorail / boat and relax by the pool and rest. Now that they are teens the Beach Club has become our go to. Thy pool is huge and amazing. The BC is literally steps away from EPCOT (5 min walk) and a longer walk (maybe 15 to 20) from Hollywood Studios. To me the edge goes to BC because of the dining options. At the Beach Club you have all the World Showcase restaurants in EPCOT plus all the restaurants around the Boardwalk area.

These are my thoughts as well :).

With strollers and toddlers I think the Contemporary is the most convenient, walking to MK is unbeatable. But if you are looking more at Epcot and DHS I would go with Beach club.

No such thing. No resort is the most convenient to everywhere AND within the Resort itself.
Poly may be easiest to parks but in the resort itself, not so much. Individual buildings could put you outside in the rain and the furthest out are still a fair walk from the lobby. Let the monorail go out (and it will at some point during most trips) and see how convenient is isn't.

Convenience can only be determined when specific need is narrowed down. Once you establish what you need most it is easy to find a Resort that fits.

Our top 2 that fit our dynamic are CR and Boardwalk. Often, we will plan a split stay just for this reason.

As others have said, it really comes down to which parks you will be visiting most. If it's MK, CR and Poly will be the most convenient with CR, Tower rooms with a slight edge as everything (restaurants, etc.) are in the same building and you can walk or monorail to/from MK. Poly is convenient in that you can monorail to MK and walk to TTC to catch the monorail to EP. I do find, however, that the QS in CR is easier to navigate than the QS at Poly.

If you intend to do more park days in EP and DHS, BC and BWI will be more convenient. BC is closest to EP and it's QS is in the resort building, whereas BWI is closest to the DHS walking path (you can take a boat too), but QS and other restaurants are outside. If you don't want to walk to DHS, BC is probably your best bet as you'll be closest to EP and be one boat stop closer to DHS.

Overall, I'd say the Contemporary because you can walk to MK and also get to EP by monorail. If I were going to be Epcot-centric on my trip (e.g. F&W) I'd go with Beach Club.

Yeah. I suppose that is too broad a question. I guess to be more specific, how about convenience within the resort? Where everything is pretty close together and you don't have to walk a long distance to everything or worry about multiple bus stops where a bus might fill up before it gets to your stop. I've heard POFQ is good for this, although I've never stayed there. Are there any deluxes with similar benefits?

Another vote for Board Walk although we've stayed at Swan and Dolphin before they started charging for parking and they were convenient. We were at BW from this Oct 12 - Oct 20 and the only time we used the bus was to go to MK and both times we went straight to the park, no S/D or any other stops, first time this happened to us. We walk to DHS and Epcot so no transportation issues there, we drive to AK because in the past we've had long waits getting out of there. With any of the Epcot resorts you have easy access to the entertainment, pubs and restaurants on the boards..

Another vote for the Poly as far as overall transportation convenience. The reasons have been listed by a previous poster, so I won't go into them again here. My opinion is based on our experiences having stayed at a wide variety of WDW resorts.

FQ is indeed good for those features. May be the best for the items on that list
Deluxe can actually be pretty bad for all of those things
While they usually have just 1 bus stop they usually share buses, which can be a real PITA and you have the same issues as multiple stops at the resort
And they can be quite large and spread out so there can be quite a long walk from a room to the bus stop. It may be inside most of the way but with long hall ways the walk is not short. No such thing as a preferred room location, for instance

Most convenient to what? We tend to spend most of our time at Epcot, HS and AK so we often stay in the Boardwalk area. However, we also always go to V&A for dinner one night and the Boardwalk area is inconvenient for that. We usually do MVMCP so GF is more convenient for that. We like to eat at various restaurants in Epcot, S&D and the Boardwalk area so GF and other monorail resorts are inconvenient for that. So, we rotate around each time we go. DH and I each have our favourites so we alternate who gets to pick each time, except that this time we agreed on AKL which is relatively inconvenient for everything. We simply decided that we really like the resort, it's been a number of years since we stayed there so it was time for a change.

My suggestion is to look at where you typically spend most of your time. If you go everywhere, then just pick a resort that you think you'd enjoy. Each of them have transportation of some sort, each has their own pros and cons. We figure that we're on vacation so if it takes a little bit longer to get somewhere, so be it. I'm not in a rush. If I have to get to somewhere in a hurry I'll take a taxi. That's likely what we'll do when we go to V&As from AKL. Otherwise, I'm taking it leisurely.

My vote is for POFQ. I believe it is the smallest moderate resort. Everything within the resort is within easy walking distance and you can catch the boat to POR and DS.

The Contemporary. I like that the resort isn't spread out. It's all pretty much contained in the CR or BLT. The walk to BLT is just unbeatable. Hop on the monorail to TTC and head to Epcot. Or, for us, walk to our car right out front in the parking lot and drive anywhere we want to go.

I also vote for the Polynesian.
Particularly if you have little ones, it's a fast monorail to the Magic Kingdom. It's so close you can watch the fireworks from the beach.

"Convenient" is in the eye of the beholder. It kind of depends on what it is you need to be convenient to. The parks? Restaurants? Shopping?

Without knowing what is important to the OP, I'll go out on a limb and say the Poly. It's convenient to the MK by monorail or boat, to Epcot by monorail (short walk over to TTC first), but less convenient to DHS or DAK (bus only). It is also fairly convenient to several good restaurants around the monorail loop. The resort itself isn't so spread out that walking from your room to the Great Ceremonial House is very long. Plus the grounds are very nice so the walk is pleasant - unless its during a thunderstorm! Shopping is pretty good too with the gift shop there and easy access to the GF and Contemporary shops.
