DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Took the morning off of work to go to Pumpkin Patch with my DS's preschool. Wow, a bunch of hyper 3 and 4 yos running around in 80 degree heat is a lot of fun! :sad2:. Seriously though, spending some much needed one-on-one time with him was great. It was a 30-min drive out and back so we got to chat for awhile, just he and I. I don't need to tell you fellas, we are blessed to have kids. I know they are a pain sometimes and my adventures are only starting, but being a dad is pretty great.

I have a home humidor and works pretty good for me as I pretty much order a box or two at a time online as it is much cheaper than buying a few at the local cigar store. Need the humidor as it takes me a bit to go through a box or two as I am in the same club as you indicated :rotfl:
When I was smoking them, I had a humidor. Well, I guess I still do. Got some sort of tube with humidity beads and kept that thing rock solid at 70%. So, they stayed fresh. I used to pick up a box or two when cruising. I had a coworker who used to also provide me with a few "hard to get" ones from time to time. Those were nice.

Me too, we really enjoy the crisp cool weather outside with a fire going and looks like after today here fall weather will be in full swing.
Looking forward to this weekend. Today is 83. Friday and Saturday night are supposed to be in the low 50s. I'm planning on doing an overnight pulled pork smoke on Friday so hoping to enjoy a fire until I'm sure the smoker is running solid and turning in for the night

Morning all. Quite frustrated this AM. Our plumbing us not draining out of the house. AT&T installed new fiber optics last month, and neighbors have been having problems ever since. Sure, they'll fix it. But, the water people have to say it's their fault, then they call the contractor, then..... So, it will be showers at the gym or indoor tennis club the next few days until they fix it. Or, I may just open the trap in the front yard and let all the backed up s$!t run out. :furious:

Well, that's not a good way to start the day. Hope you get that fixed soon!

Well, that majorly sucks.
Hope they get it straightened out before the sh*t hits the fan.

Oh, that's the worst. Something goes wrong and everyone falls all over themselves claiming it's not their job to fix. Private companies have every bit as much bureaucracy as the government in some ways.

Well, that's not a good way to start the day. Hope you get that fixed soon!

Thanks guys. It was frustrating calling them to call them to call them, etc. But, I'm now watching them dig a giant hole in my yard right now. I may end up losing my pear tree in the front yard, but at least I'll have water drainage.

Squirrel. Point.

Oh that's cool.... did you end up getting your points back?

Yes, it took a few days with all mass amounts of cancellations. We have a one bedroom condo right on the beach for $1200 for the week (7 nights), including tax and cleaning.

You mean standing up on your feet, right? Otherwise that is waaaay too much information.

Listen. At my age, either one's a victory.

Agree :scared1: so without asking further, good to hear you are standing on your two feet today. Hope the back starts improving.

Thanks.

But, I'm now watching them dig a giant hole in my yard right now. I may end up losing my pear tree in the front yard, but at least I'll have water drainage.

Sucks about the tree.... but water drainage is a good thing.

So to watch the Cubs tonight or those two talking heads? Hmmm, decisions, decisions:lmao:

Sorry and hope it gets fixed sooner than later - that's got to be a big pain in the backside.

Here, here and well stated! Glad you had a good time. Made me think back to taking DD to her first pumpkin patch and her riding a pony for the first time - thanks for initiating the good memory and we are pretty lucky :thumbsup2

Good Morning Men!

Have been crazy busy so not in here or on FB for a while. Spotty attendance at best. Hope all are OK. Sending congrats, pixie dust and best wishes to those deserving and prayers for those needed such.

Basketball season is upon us here. DD's team won their weekend qualifier last weekend and now get to play for the state championships in a few weeks. DS's team is inconsistent, but a great group of players. Had to play one of the top teams in the country. Let's just say I know which kids will be getting a free ride to D1 schools and which one's should continue studying.:rolleyes1 DD also playing softball and pitching well. Won her game on Saturday 15-2 with the 2 runs because the coach, who shall remain nameless, wanted to "try" some new things.

Getting ready for the DDCC. Everything booked and continuing to get ready to run the 5K. Knee is OK, but not responding as well as I would have liked. We'll be ready though. It will be great to meet a lot of the dads I have not.

My cousin got married last Saturday and the theme was.......wait for it......Haunted Mansion!:thumbsup2 The wedding was outside and the weather was awesome. Reception was a heated tent. They had ghoulish decorations, a (first time for me) "candy bar" that was pretty yummy and lots of great decor. All in all a great evening. We don't get out much without the kids. Kind of think I'll steal the candy idea for our Halloween night.

Well, I think I'll go back a few pages and see what everyone is up to since I have a few extra minutes. That is all.

Oh, before I forget. CJ.....The dolphins need a new QB.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Good to hear from you Jim. Sounds like the sport season is keeping you busy. Try-outs for the HS teams start tomorrow for DS. The varsity coach told me he wants Declan this year but Declan is thinking he he plays his grade 10 year at JV he will get lots of playing time. He's torn right now because not many grade 10 players get the chance to play varsity at his school.

Hope the knee holds up and you get to run the 5k.

Aren't we all? Just not at the same level.

These guys get all the money. ;)

Morning gents.
Still stuck in bed with the bad back,
did get vertical this morning though, so, improvement.

If you are vertical for 4 hours or more, call your doctor.

Oh and here's your engraved bedpan.

Morning Chaps, from Sunny London.
1. Go Cubbies. I will leave Mike to Fly the W, as Cub Fan in Chief.
2. Doing the 7 Day dance.

I may end up losing my pear tree in the front yard, but at least I'll have water drainage
I know which one I'd rather have.
Got some sort of tube with humidity beads and kept that thing rock solid at 70%.
Interesting. I feel a cheeky browse on Amazon is in my near future. Good tip, thanks mate.

That is all.
As you were.

Morning Guys.

Just had some breaking news come across my Twitter feed. Apparently the Blue Jays announced they will not accept the results of the ALCS. They are planing on travelling to Cleveland for game 6 on Friday.

I really didn't think I could even make myself smile today...
You just changed my mind.

Happy Thursday. It's raining here, or more like flash monsoon rain. :sad2:

Good news is that the pipe was fixed by 5 PM. The lead worker even admitted they broke open the pipe during the dig. It shouldn't have been that difficult to get them to fix the issue. Bad news is that I still have a giant hole in the front yard. I doubt they will fill it in today in the rain, but they will eventually.

Sucks about the tree.... but water drainage is a good thing.

It may survive. Not sure why the tree was planted that close to sewer connection, but it is. At least it's not like the old plumbing pipes that roots could grow into. It may survive.

So to watch the Cubs tonight or those two talking heads? Hmmm, decisions, decisions:lmao:

Thanks. I doubt that was much a decision. The bats came alive last night. Indians and Cubs in WS? Isn't that the punch line of a joke? :lmao:

I needed to be distracted from a particular train of thought.
Though I'd share the opportunity.

I got it.

If you are vertical for 4 hours or more, call your doctor.

If I'm vertical for 4 hours, I'm calling everyone. :lmao:

Good debate reference. I saw it on Twitter this AM as I certainly didn't watch it. I also saw this was second time Cleveland defeated Toronto in Conference Finals with NBA.

Morning Gents, I've been absent, but I have a note from home, so it's okay. Seriously, though, it's been a bit hectic around here. Started off having to go down to Jacksonville following the storm. As big storms go, I was surprised how little damage there was. A couple of other guys ended up in Bahamas and NC, so they saw the worst of it.

In other news, the mighty USPS says our Magic Bands will be in the mailbox today for next month's trip. I tried to cancel my birthday this year, but I'll accept my new age as long as it comes with Magic Bands. Between the recent trips, work not slowing down at all with the temps climbing back up into the 80's this week, and the other vagaries of life, I'm looking forward to checking out of reality for 10 days prior to Thanksgiving.

So it sounds like they've fixed the drainage problem, and now you'll have a drainage problem in your front yard today.:headache:

Thanks. I doubt that was much a decision. The bats came alive last night. Indians and Cubs in WS? Isn't that the punch line of a joke? :lmao:

I'd be good with that. One way or another, somebody's curse will end.

Guys.

I'm stressed. I signed up for this beast in April. Just getting over a sickness so I haven't ran in over a week.

Always a good time though. this will be my 5th year. If you ever want a fun way of seeing Door County, WI.
