Anyone started Christmas shopping yet? What, Where and for who?

I am about halfway done...have been clearance shopping all year...and picking up giftcards along the way with points from any and all sources. A few thing I will get in November...somethings you just can't beat with black Friday.

We just found out my DS18's favorite comedian is coming to town around New Year's Eve. Score! It is so hard to buy for him, I'm excited to have one thing down, and also give an "experience". All he wants are gifts cards and money, so it's nice to be able to add something else to the mix.

Funny you say that.... my DH and DS's favorite comedian is coming to our state in March and I ordered tickets for them to have a "men's night out".... I'll throw in a restaurant gc so they can grab dinner too! Love that I have something already done for my hard-to-buy-for men! (Although technically speaking I am DONE with DH, as I gave him a combined birthday/christmas/anniversary card this past summer in the form of a snorkeling trip to Bermuda!).............P

Hi Pamela! Great to "see" you! Christmas shopping for the young adults is really hard....

I've started. So far I have ordered a necklace from Etsy (with a Cabaret playbill charm) for my sister in law, a set of sheets for my son, a set of toaster oven pans for my mother, and a "sharing plate" (from Michaels) for my mother in law. We typically buy siblings and parents about 4 or 5 gifts and my sons each get about 10-15 things, plus stocking (my faux son usually gets a six month loot crate subscription and a couple of gifts to open).

I don't have too many people to buy for:
Mom
Dad
Mother in Law
Sister in Law
Brother
Sister
Aunt
Son1
Son2
Son2's best friend (who is almost like a third son to us)
Coworker

I started last week but the items i got my teen daughter saw the box and knew it was makup for her Urban Decay so she begged me if she cleaned her drawers in her room full of junk could she have them i could not say no its hard to get her to clean so good trade off.Today they have a sale on other makeup she wants so going to shop again.Ihave a list she gave me to buy in London going in 2 weeks she loves Superdrug they have lots of makeup cant get in USA.

They are koolaburra which is owned by uggs. 6pm.com has them for $40. I read the post on the other board wrong but still good with them even though they say koolaburra instead of ugg on the back.
When I read your first message I thought 6pm was the time of day your purchased them! Did not realize it was a vendor.

We go to Ross and TJ Maxx every couple of weeks. Our daughter already has a very full Christmas and her grandparents and great grandparents haven't even started shopping for her yet. It's nice that she's still young, so the toys aren't very expensive. We can still fill up the tree with a bunch of toys that average about $5. We still need to buy her a couple of toys if I see them on sale and my husband and I are considering doing a swing set.

We'll have a newborn come Christmas so we have some toys for baby to "open" which will really be our daughter. We just want to have enough that's "for the baby" that she doesn't notice and think we don't like him too. We also plan to use some toys which my daughter used to play with but doesn't necessarily remember.

As for everyone else, I've been keeping my eyes peeled. I think parents/grandparents will be getting printed pictures of our daughter with the new baby and ornaments we'll make at a paint your own pottery of the baby's footprint. Unfortunately, those are things I can't have made/order until baby gets here.

I have an 8 year old niece and she will be the toughest for me I think. Please spam me with ideas.

I'm also hoping to find them some matching pajamas, but it's hard because the baby will be so small.

Try Carter's. I haven't looked in a while, but they used to have the same patterns in a ton of sizes. I think we had a set that matched in either 3M or newborn (1st Christmas), 12M (2nd Christmas), and 4T or 5T (older sibling). I remember buying the same PJs in many different sizes when they were on the clearance rack.

Christmas shopping will be easy for us this year. My DD19 doesn't want presents, she wants a trip. So we are going to NYC for a few days. Then she is off to go skiing with her boyfriend and we will continue on to New Hampshire. I will just buy small things that can go in a stocking.

We've finished Christmas shopping for all but the kids. They're getting a couple more things but I HAVE to wait for Black Friday because I know they'll do a great deal on Amazon for what we're getting them.

I'm just starting to think about it.

I did get an Alex and Ani bracelet for each of my daughters. And a 1/4 zip pullover for my son.

And I'll repeat a gift I got my daughter when she was young. The 4 year old across the street spent the whole summer scouring her backyard for cool rocks. So I went to Geology.com and ordered a pound of tumbled rocks for a total of $20 including shipping. (I got "large"-- XL probably would have been better.) I'll choose the most colorful and put them into an embroidery thread case from Michaels. It's different, but my daughter LOVED it when she was about the same age.

I ordered each of my kids a Hatchimal. I got kind of swept up in the "they are gonna be the hottest toy" hype. I might return them before Christmas though- I am going to keep an eye on the reviews. But, they look cute!

I also got my DD4 a Fur Real Leopard on Prime Day and I bought her a Mermaid tail blanket from Justice. I am going to give her a mermaid themed present. I still need to buy the Mermaid light up Barbie and a couple mermaid books. I had a 20% off TRU coupon burning a hole in my pocket so I bought her the Baby Alive she's been wanting already as well. I hope it doesn't go cheaper on Black Friday... but I can always return it if it does. She is almost done. I will probably get her some art supply themed gift and call it good. Well, Santa is bringing a bike- still need to get that. I have my eye on a Shopkins bike.

I am way less further along for my DS6. Right now I only have the Hatchimal. He has been wanting a Zike for years and this is the year he is getting it from Santa. Other than that.... I am open to ideas!

This is the year that I am cutting way back on "clutter" type presents just to have stuff under the tree. My daughters will be 16 and 14 toward the end of this year, so definitely old enough to know what stuff costs. So this year, their presents are:

Apple Watches
Season passes to Cedar Point (plus the all-season drink bottles).
Fanny packs that they can take to Cedar Point (or wherever).
Both girls are getting a game that we can play on family game night.
Younger dd is getting the Twilight movies (the set) - she's a huge fan.
Older dd is getting a few Jets memorabilia (she's a huge Jets fan even though we live in Ohio, lol)
Younger dd is getting a ukulele (been asking for this for a while)
Have to find something of similar value for older dd.
Then they both might get a couple stocking stuffer type things.

And that is it! So I am just about done shopping for them, :)

I'm proud of myself that I have seen a lot of stuff that I thought they might like, but if it looks to be something that would just be house clutter, I've passed it up.

My ds was all about Imaginext when he was 6.
