Blackish

I thought the fact that Soarin had an outdoor queue line was very strange.
I actually went on Google to check that out because I haven't been since 2012, so I thought that was a massive change that I somehow missed in all my planning!

That weird outside entrance to Soarin looked so out of place I have no idea why added it.It remids me of that scary movie House on haunted hill that showed the Hulk rollercoaster at Universal but to ride it you had to take an elevator, strange movie additions!!

We don't get the show in the UK, so I've never seen it. It was filmed whilst we were there, so I'd like to try and find it online to see it- will it make enough sense to watch as a stand alone without knowing anything about the premise/characters/backstory? Is there anything I need to know about the series to watch it?

It was a funny episode, but oddly kind of reinforced the arguments about Disney being for rich people now.

Over $22,000

The only part that I thought was funny was on soarin when they thought they were going to crash into the Great Wall. Lots of the unrealistic park hopping bugged me. Acting like they just got off soarin when in fantasyland for example. Or drinking in animal kingdom, but ending up in the line for soarin while trying to get back to akl. Also, I don't ride Everest, but at around 3pm wouldn't a 25 minute wait be pretty unrealistic?
It was nice to see the park though, gets me more excited for my March trip.

You don't think Disney would want them to say "OH MY GAWD, ITS A 90 MINUTE WAIT FOR SOARIN?!?!?!"

OMG...I had no idea they were doing a WDW episode. Was so excited when I saw that.

Was neat seeing the episode. Obviously not all was realistic as they went from Test Track to Big Thunder Mountain one after the other ....and Soarin and Animal Kingdom were thrown into there too. And like you can just join the parade...lol. Really neat to see WDW in a tv episode though.

Haven't read this thread but I'm assuming that the VIP Pass doesn't actually exist.

Nope - VIP tours are a real thing. I don't know whether they actually allow people to skip straight to the front of the line, though - I think they just enter the FP lines for the duration of the tour.

The first episodes I ever saw of the Middle or Blackish were their Disney episodes,I will say you probably saw more of WDW in the one Blackish episode than in the 2 part Middle goes to Disney. With that said the Middle shows actually made me a fan of their show and I've probably seen every season on reruns and don't miss new shows.I kind of found the Blackish show kinda annoying with the whole VIP thing so while watching Disney was cool in the episode I don't see myself following the show.

I'm a huge fan of Blackish, and while I liked seeing WDW, this was by far the weakest episode of the show so far. It's usually very funny. Give it another chance. :-)

I'm kind of impressed by the television magic that allowed them to shoot this in mid-August and have the cast looking good. When I've been to WDW in August, it took about 3 minutes outside for me to become a frizzy, sweaty mess.

I noticed something that they edited out. I saw the previews for the episode, and when she points out that he "jumped over a baby in a stroller" to get to a ride, he stated back "that was no baby, that was a 7-year old". His part was edited out. I wish they would have left that in.

I noticed that too, I bet they had a lot of jokes like that, they most likely didn't have time for them.

All of the unrealistic park hopping was tough to grasp. I wonder how it appeared to a more casual Disney fan, or someone who doesn't get to visit as frequently (our family averages every 1 - 2 years). I also noticed that they mentioned the most popular ride as being Frozen Ever After, then never showed it. Every park was featured in some way except for H.S., unless I missed it (not counting the water parks)

I was wondering how many times they had to stop and touch up their makeup!

I believe they were in the Tower of Terror queue at one point. I think it was anyway. That's the only HS they showed.
