Hubby and I have a week planned during early December.

Our daughter is talking about joining us mid week because she has a friend on the college program.
She is in no way insisting that she spend every moment with us but it would be nice to overlap some.

Question 1: does anyone know if I can add her to our room mid week & if she will then be able to take Magical express? (note she may be staying with the friend but I need to know if this is doable)

question 2: her friend in the college progam can get deals on tickets....(dh & I are set already) but maybe its better if we get her ticket through the friend...anyone have any experience with this?

question 3: if we get her ticket seperatly than our...I can link them on My Disney experience right? and therefore if we have memory maker, we can get her pictures too--right??

Thanks in advance!

You may want to ask this on the Resorts board.

There is a slight discount. The CM may be able to have her enter a park by using a comp ticket.

Anyone who is listed in your MDE, is linked to your Memory Maker account. They don't need a ticket - a MB linked to them works as well as a plastic ticket.

You can absolutely do that.
HI - so I can add her mid week and she can take ME in when she arrives? I don't mind paying the extra 10 dollars a day starting that Wednesday I just want to be sure its doable and that I don't have to worry about getting her picked up from MCO that day. TIA

I'm pretty sure you'll have to make a reservation with DME for her (she can't just walk up to the DME counter at the airport without a reservation), but I think you can do that at the hotel when you add her to room. You might want to post this question on the Transportation board. (It can definitely be done; I'm just not entirely sure what the procedure is.)

If all else fails you can have her take an Uber. It may be quicker than the DME and shouldn't cost but $20-$25. I drive an Uber part time currently and to take people from downtown Indianapolis to Indianapolis International is about the same drive time as going from MCO to WDW and the usual "fare" is $21.50 (before Uber takes their cut). lol

Just another thought if you can't get her on the DME.

Is Uber allowed to pick up at MCO now? They weren't last time I was there, which was a year and a half ago.

Last I checked on the Transportation boards, MCO has a restriction that doesn't allow Uber drivers to pick up there. And from what I've looked into, you can't just add her from Wednesday on. You will end up paying for her extra adult fee your entire stay. Unless you rebook as two separate reservations and then link them.

Go up to the front desk and add her the morning she is expected to arrive if she is staying with you. I've done it several times, although I also needed to tell them a car would be in the lot.

Have her make her own MDE account and use the friends and family option to link them together right now. You can share fastpass, adr and photos together just like you added her ticket to your account. Nothing special here.

You can absolutely do that.

My sister arrived a day after us. My parents paid the $10 a night for the nights she stayed and she made her DME reservation with no problem. Her flight was even delayed like mad and they brought her in and then the resort drove her to her room (POR) on a golf cart at 1am.

We also got our tickets from a CM, they were 10% off and we got them and linked them to our Mde before fast pass time. He mailed them to us.

You can call a much more expensive uber black that is registered as a for hire car with the state to go from MCO to WDW. No difference than using a hired driver.

1) Yes, I do it all the time. When you check in tell them your DD is joining you and the dates. They can then put her on ME for you or you can call yourself. Front desk has always done it for me and worked out fine.

2) CM will only get 10% off and they have to drive and get it in person (paying for it) at specific locations. Not worth it. Pain for them. If she is only going for one day to parks I would have her ask friend about using a CM comp ticket but more than that I think (and my DD was a CM and we have friends that are CMs) you should buy. I have gone in on comp but would never ask for more than one day. Look at Undercover Tourist or other well know (do you have Tickets at Work at your job?) or just get through Disney.

3) Yes you can link, but if you go via the CM comp ticket your timing is very limited as far as in advance depending on the ticket type. Yes if she is linked in your account or if she had her own and you are Families and Friends, her pics will show up in your account.

I am not sure that the college program receives comp passes. They do get main gates which she would have to be let in with and cost them nothing. It honestly depends on how good a friend she is lol bc losing main gates can be very pricey and dcp only gets so many. In the event they have actual comp tickets, they can link it directly to the mde with out exchanging it and the fp can be made just like any other day guest or if they would rather do a hard ticket you can do it that way.

Thanks everybody. I think her friend that is a CM has some comp tickets but she is saving them for her family. I think I will go with the buying the tickets myself since I don't want to inconvenience her friend too much and 10% just isn't worth it to me for her to go to so much trouble. At this point, it sounds like DD is staying with her friend..so I'm just going to have her setup her account so I can link her on family & friends for the memory maker. :) I hope I've got this all down smoothly....

It may have changed in last year or so but DD did earn comp tickets by participating in different activities. EX: One night she rode 7DMT over and over while they tested cameras and they gave her a comp ticket. Also since they are going in December they get the Holiday Package that includes special comp tickets.

You say she is in CP program .......... if she is living in Disney Housing it is 100% against the rules to have overnight guests. It would be cause for termination. When DD had friends visit she would use her CM Discount and stay with them in a hotel. You need to book her in your hotel .. unless the friend has her own apartment outside the CP program.

I would just buy her a ticket now if the money isn't a big concern.
If her friend would get her in, you would need the friend to physcially be there. So now you are on the friends schedule not yours. (it may not matter)
Your daughter would also have to wait to get any fast passes until she enters the park. So you all wouldn't have the same ones most likely.

When I was a CP I believe it was a main gate pass - a blue card that I had to be present to use in order to get my guest(s) in for the day. That was in 2009, though. The general point stands that I'm not at all surprised the friend is saving her passes, since I think it was something like six per year total.

Agreed!! I knew multiple people who got fired from the College Program; the rules are seriously enforced. Disney's CP housing is set up as little gated communities and the guards can be real sticklers (like that night I got off the bus at another complex so I could stop at the drug store, then they didn't want to let me back in the complex to get on the bus and go home because they thought I was coming there to party through the night...with my alka seltzer....). For the friend's sake, please clarify with them whether they got a resort room? The CM discount on rooms was really good when I was there, so I would do the same as HopperFan's daughter when I had people visit, so I hope that's what they meant.
