***The Official October 2016 Thread***

Planning on hitting BB and TL, storm along bay, the last 2 weeks of October. Hoping it's not too cold for our thin Hawaiian blood. What do you think?
Plans sound great, but make sureyou hit BB sooner than later. It will be closing for refurbishment on 10/23!

I am anxiously awaiting the release of October wishes desert party, possible early morning magic, for sure AK evening hours and HS Star Wars FW / dessert parties, extended hours for Pirates League after 4! Also, hoping TP Res. Finder comes up with a 9'ish breakfast! Haven't a clue on how to plan my park days as far as FP+ yet, book HHN RIP tour...oh, and need to come up with Halloween party costumes and find decent airfare from Maui!

Also, need to upgrade our Under cover tourist tickets from 8 day park hoppers to 10 day park hoppers with water parks and more once we use our first day. Heard they may add on an extra day of parks if we come across a helpful team member but not counting on it. It would come in handy on our 18 day vacation.

Plus hoping to change my 4pm Hoop Dee Doo reservation from 4pm to 6:15 if they ever become available
Anyone else?

So much left to plan!
I think PL only offers appointments after 4 on MNSSHP nights....

Excited to be returning October 23-26 at the Port Orleans French Quarter for my first trip since May 2012! I booked on Priceline a few weeks ago and it will be my 3rd stay at a moderate (my 2 previous moderate stays were Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans Riverside). My last 2 Disney trips were out to Disneyland, but I can't wait to see everything new that I've missed at the World since I last visited (New Fantasyland and New Test Track mainly). This will be my first WDW trip since going with my family in 2006 where I won't be solo the entire trip. Have friends meeting me for the first two days, then I'll spend the last day and a half solo (my return flight is at 7PM). I booked in October specifically for the Food & Wine festival, so I will be spending most of my time at Epcot. I will not be doing MNSSHP due to the new tiered pricing (I'll put the money I'm savings towards drinks at Epcot!)

Just had to post my very sad news... The people I'd planned on traveling with have now backed out. Not sure what I'm going to do. Hotels in the immediate area aren't much cheaper and I'm suddenly faced with paying the entire cost of the room by myself. It's a great strain on my budget and I'm so bummed.

That really stinks. It's not a ton, but you may be able to save a little money by switching to an All Star resort. Eat a few more quick service. The way I see it, anything to get to Disney!

I appreciate the ideas. We were already staying at a value. I looked at switching to one that was a little less a night, but I don't think the bus trade off would be worth it. I was already planning on mostly quick service. Currently I'm trying to see how much more I can squeeze out of my budget. I just wish I would have known before booking a second trip that we're going on in Aug. I would cancel it, except that we already paid for it. Thankfully I've still got some time to figure it out.

I agree, anything to go to Disney. I'm excited/anxious about the idea of going on my own. I'll be able to travel how I want which is a bonus.

Speaking as a frequent Disney soloist, lemme tell you... If you can make it work financially, DO IT! It's AWESOME. I was super nervous before my first solo trip, but ended up discovering that I actually like soloing BETTER than traveling with others! #solo4life #noyoucantcome #idowhatiwant

I would love to take a solo trip sometime! Since it's just me and my daughter, it's almost solo. I, at least, get to make all the decisions for the most part.

Thanks for the support! I think I've managed to figure out everything so that I don't have to find a new hotel. I will skip Halloween Horror Nights though because I don't want to do it alone. However everything else will remain the same.

I'm actually wishing I had known earlier because I would have booked some of the special dining packages. I've been looking, but it looks like many are sold out. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

How is everyone else's trip planning going?

We are in the 'pay the trip off' stage of planning. My daughter's MNSSHP costume is finished! She's Kairi from Kingdom Hearts. Otherwise, I'm starting to find / buy some things we are going to need (like fanny pack, autograph book, etc.)

Some quick questions just because I'm obsessed with planning and want everything to go smoothly:

1) I booked online and didn't see a spot to add a celebration, so can we get birthday buttons at check in or add it during online check in?

2) Do we request a Pack n Play at check in also? I forgot to add it to the online ressie(I was nervous and excited!)

Thanks folks!!

I'm sure it's been asked, but I don't remember the answer. On a party night, if you're not going to the party, what is the latest ADR you can have? Is 6:30 too late? Do they not let you into the restaurant after a certain time if you don't have a wrist band?

I believe for MNSSHP last year the latest time was 6:55. For MVMCP, I think they made it even earlier (6:30 or 6:45?). When you are booking your ADR, though, it will tell you if your reservation time falls during the "party hours" and warn you that you need a party ticket to dine.

You can always call to update your resort reservation with celebrations and room requests. There's nowhere to add the celebration during online check-in, but I'm not sure about the pack n play. Even if you don't note the celebration on your reservation, you can ask for a button at check-in.

The early HS closure on 10/6 is really messing with my plans! We originally had the F! dining package for that night, which was obviously cancelled. That's the last night of our trip, and I thought ending with F! Would be fun. I'm thinking of moving our MNSSHP to that night now, but it's our last night and we will have to board ME at 4:30 am the following morning
