Thanksgiving Day Meal

We had one at Artist Point at the WL one year and it was great! Regis Philbin was there dining with his family too so that was a little added excitement.

Any idea how much you paid for the Thanksgiving meal here? Was it all inclusive, app, entree, dessert or all separate? Just trying to decide what to book and I don't want to spend 50+ per person.

We have never done Thanksgiving in WDW so this year is our first! I first got CP dinner, but then was able to snag an early dinner at LTT. Last time we ate there was when the characters were still there for dinner, but we liked the traditional Thanksgiving fare.

Thank you for starting this thread. We just booked Thanksgiving today and aren't thrilled with what we got (nearly everything was gone at 6am). We have
Mickey's Backyard Thanksgiving Feast but it seems so far away and will take a really long time to get to. I just wanted something off the monorail, not even fancy, but no luck. I'll keep checking back, I guess.
We did the Feast last year and the kids really enjoyed it! The turkey and stuffing was delicious and the beer and wine was a plus!Oh...and the Mickey bars and pumpkin pie were a great end to the night!

We have reservations for Boma on Thanksgiving day at 5:30. I'm planning on eating and then goung out again for the evening stuff at AK. We're staying at AKL so I figured we would try it!
We'll see you there! We have an ADR for 6:15. So excited to try Boma for dinner.

Last year we ate at Garden Grove in the Swan - it was great!

I can't believe there was very little availability this morning for Thanksgiving! 180 days today and I went on at 7 am to book. Ended up with Wolfgang Puck cafe, but not thrilled about that. I will keep checking. Two years ago we also checked into Disney on Thanksgiving morning so made our reservations 180 days out from the holiday and had plenty of choices. I think only Liberty tree tavern was booked then. We ate at whispering canyon cafe and had a wonderful meal!! I guess more and more people are booking trips in advance for a magical Thanksgiving!!

same here. I might try calling as another poster suggested. We really wanted Artist Point. We ended up with Raglan Road

I was surprised at the choices too! I ended up with Garden Grill and I'm not sure I want that for Thanksgiving Day. I may need to call. I'm surprised the Turf Club wasn't even available. It had lots of openings last year even at a few weeks out.

I may call too now although I thought they had the same access to the same online system we do. I really want whispering canyon cafe. We had so much fun there two years ago for thanksgiving. Guess I'll be stalking the dining site!

I ran into the same issue this morning. I called (and sat on hold for 45 mins) and there was tons of stuff available. Got my first choice at the time I wanted for 9 people none the less. Online it was all grayed out or had weird times listed (like breakfast only).

I really want whispering canyon cafe.
Definitely call. I booked Whispering Canyon yesterday by phone since I could not get it online. I had my choice of times. Cast members have a list of Thanksgiving Dining Options and the prices for each restaurant. I don't know if it's due to the changed/limited menu and price for the day or why you have to book by phone.
Whispering Canyon is only serving family style turkey, mashed potatoes, etc. $42 for adults, $23 for kids.

Awesome awesome awesome!!!! I just called and got whispering canyon for thanksgiving! Woo hoo!! She had plenty of times to pick from. I told her none of these times were available online and she thought that was strange. Maybe a system glitch again?
Glad I called! Thanks!!

It's so weird what's going on with so many places being "grayed out" or showing as having nothing available this year :scratchin We went for Thanksgiving last year and had our choice of pretty much anywhere we wanted on Thanksgiving day but ended up choosing the Wave and Beaches & Cream. When I booked for Thanksgiving this year yesterday lots of places already mentioned in this thread were unavailable - GFC, Wave, Narcoossee's, WCC, Capt. Grille. Strangely enough there were tons of times available for 1900 PF, CRT, and CP which are more popular although maybe not so much for Thanksgiving day. I ended up booking Minnie's Dine @ Hollywood & Vine so we can see the characters in their Christmas outfits :)

Trails End never popped into my head! Do they do a traditional Thanksgiving meal?
They add turkey, cranberry sauce, I think stuffing, and pumpkin pie to the buffet choices. So you can make a traditional meal, but then also add fried chicken, ribs, ham or pork, mac and cheese, and chili to your meal.

We wanted whispering canyon but on my open date there was nothing available. I called right at 7 but while I was waiting a bog became available so I snagged that. We have two mk days and so I just swapped our wc and big plans.

It is my dream to spend the holidays at WDW some year, so I follow these threads with a mixture of delight, envy, and, well, respect for all of you who can down a full traditional (or nontraditional) meal while planning on hitting the parks again afterward! Keep the details coming....

We went over Thanksgiving last year for the first time. Not sure what to expect and ended up loving it so much we booked again this year!

DH is not a Disney fan, so I keep it as just a dream for now. But if I could put together an enticing enough package, filled with great ideas, I might lure him away with us (DD would need no convincing!). So far, I have: Thanksgiving (the holiday usually spent with my family--they would understand for just one year) staying at WL (DH loves the backwoods of Maine, for example), with a meal at Whispering Canyon. Maybe in a year or two...

Sounds like the perfect plan! You'll have to keep us posted when you do! :)

We did Mickey's Backyard BBQ for Thanksgiving dinner a few years ago. We thought the food was decent. The ice cream bars were plentiful. We took a carriage ride around the campground after the meal. It was a really fun night and a very memorable Thanksgiving.
