Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT Information & Questions

just returned a few hours ago from our week long trip to Disney... We had a great visit and it was HOT HOT HOT..make sure you all drink plenty of liquids and take breaks..the food at the food court was really very good.. the biggest hamburgers I have ever put my mouth around too..the half chicken dinner with two sides was very good as was the spaghetti and meatballs. the room was clean and well maintained...would not hesitate to suggest people going there... now about the cheerleaders...there were a bazillion of them..but they were well behaved and polite...then came the dancers..they also were well behaved and then Honduras kids...they were the best ...polite and liked to talk to us in lines...hope you all that are going enjoy your trip too..oh almost forgot..our room had an alarm clock and also plenty of ice cream too...I had a hot fudge sundae one night and I ate it all..

Thank you. :thumbsup2
What is the best way to request a room or building? My 15yo DS and I like to be at rope drop and get out before the park closing crowds. My 17yo DD and her 18yo BFF like to sleep in and close the parks. I would like to get something near the bustop so i won't have to worry about them late at night when I am trying to get to sleep. We are going last week of June so parks will be open late.

Call the Main Reservation line and add your request to your reservation. This can be done anytime from the day you book up until 4-5 days prior to your arrival.

I just booked ASMo today for a 4 day stay starting Sunday!!! :flower1: I placed my room requests with the resi. Does anyone have any experience with room requests on such a short notice? :worship:

Just back this week from a week at AoA, and have straight away booked a week in oct at movies (best way to avoid the post Disney depression eh!) we have stayed a few times at sports, I assume it's mostly the same at movies? Odd question ... Does the safe still have a key like sports, or is it a code one like AoA which was much more convenient?

First stay at movies 10/28-11/2 :)
Been to pop-music-port Orleans
I've enjoyed all of them so far. We haven't stayed at any of the deluxe rooms. Would love to sometime especially the poly ;)

Pop Century rooms (or at least the one I was in at the end of April) had the old key style safe, so I assume All-Star Movies and the other All-Star resorts still do, too.

I just booked our 3 night stay at All Star Movie Resort in the Toy Story Section with a preferred room! What can I expect? I have seen pictures and kind of afraid that the rooms are very outdated! Are they all flat screen tvs? Want to be sure I know what I'm getting into before time comes We stayed last year at AOA and loved it but wanted to save a little money this year! Thanks

The last time I stayed at ASMo Fantasia, 101 Dalmatians, and Toy Story were all Preferred. If you wanted a certain Preferred section it was just a request. Are you saying you're booked in Toy Story or you requested Toy Story?

We were there in April - booked a Preferred room and requested Toy Story. We were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean. Yes it could use a bit of updating (carpet a bit worn, colors in the bathroom were awful) but overall it was great for what we were expecting. I would request a top floor so it will be quiet. We were on the top at the end, which meant we were very close to the bus stop. And we were still a very short walk away from the food court/main building.

When I called and booked I booked a preferred room in the Toystory section! Just wondering if there are any other requests I should make on top of that! Trying to decide as well if it is worth booking an Additional night

Thanks for response! Will definitely request top floor! I am trying to decide if it is worth it to go ahead and book an additional night! Would you stay again? Any major cons? I know for price there will be some

I'm not sure what the CM on the phone told you, but they can't guarantee you a room in the Toy Story section, that is not something you can book. You booked a preferred room, and you could get Toy Story, but that is just a request; you could also get a preferred room in Fantasia or 101 Dalmatians.

I am always up for an extra night on a Disney trip. The rooms at ASMo are a little small, but they have been fine for our family of 4 when we stayed there (or any other value). As long as you are prepared for that going in, you should be fine. The other "cons" for the value resorts are no table-service restaurant, only the food court (which is fine with us), and the pools don't have a slide. If you can hear the toilet flush in the next room, close the bathroom door. We have never had a problem with it, but I've read other people complain about it.

Thanks. Yes the CM told me i would be in one of the Toy Story Buildings but that is good to know. Hoping we will get one of them. Any recommendations for a specific room to request? I know that it is not guaranteed!

Yeah I didn't think that had changed.

I would stay again if it was a trip that I wasn't spending a ton of time at the resort. If I had more "down" time then I would most likely book a moderate as we love the theme and feel of POR and POFQ. But for a trip that we are mostly in the parks it's definitely an option we will use again. CM's were all great, rooms were clean and quiet. Transportation was just fine. Only con was the bus back from Disney Springs (all All Star resorts were combined which made for a VERY long line and a VERY long ride back (since Movies is the last stop). Other than that the only other con is that the rooms could use an update (the colors in the bathroom of Toy Story building is horrendous).

I have been searching all over the Internet for reviews and just struggling with the thought of Roaches just crawling freely around the rooms. I may not be in the room much but when i sleep knowing they are all over would not work. Did you experience this when you went? I do understand bugs happen but the way these reviews are talking there are a ton of them. Also do you know if the rooms have the older boxed tvs or are they all flat screen tvs now? I have seen a few pics and just want to know that way i can request a room with a flat screen. My husband hate staying away from home so me talking him into this is a huge thing so i would like it to be so so for him =) I can deal with the bathrooms being ugly =) I appreciate all of your feed back! I just want to make sure i shouldnt go ahead and cancel and stay somewhere else before my cancellation time runs out!

We tend to like the ground floor just for the convenience of walking right out of our room and not having to deal with stairs. However, I've been reading in other forums about bugs, worms & even snakes getting in to ground floor rooms. Any thoughts on this?

I've never seen a roach in our room at Disney. A Palmetto bug? Yes. They do look similar to roaches. They are not there because it is dirty, they are there because it is Florida. Where are you reading this? Value resorts are the least expensive at Disney, but they are not nasty roadside motels.

We've alwaus stayed in ground floor rooms (All Stars and Port Orleans) and have never had anything nasty crawl into our room yet (for the poster above, we've never seen any cockroaches at All Stars either).
