Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

Quick question: Room requests. What should I request? We have a standard room booked and want a quiet room

Then why not just request a quiet room, if you have no other preferences? Upper floor tends to help in that goal if you want to mention that, and I guess the quietest rooms are most likely to be the ones furthest from the main buildings (Standard View will generally get you a room facing towards the parking lots, so that's mostly on the outer areas of the resort anyway) If you want to be more specific, building 1 would probably be the quietest, followed by 7, but better to just tell them what you want really.

Okay I didn't think when you check in online that was an option. I'll ask our TA to put it on our reservation.

There aren't any especially useful request options in Online Checkin, just floor and corner room I think. You need to phone your requests in to have them added to your reservation, and/or fax about 3-5 days before you arrive.

I'll be checking in to POFQ in 7 days! Really hoping that the smaller resort leads to a more relaxed vacation outside the park! I don't know if it's in my nature to be able to relax inside the parks! Always have to go, go, go to the next attraction lol.

Tons, yes. They are in a chiller cabinet near the cash desks:

If you are on a dining plan, all of these are options to accompany your QS meal (with the exception of any alcoholic beverages).

When we've done the dining plan we'd use our mugs at breakfast and take the drinks like these that come with the meal to the parks.

I read that in order to request a room you have to send a Fax. Has anyone ever requested a room and if so were you successful? And what about an early check in?

I made my request over the phone about a week prior to arrival. After learning about the movies on the lawn near bldg 5, I requested a room in bldg 1, 2 or 3. We received a great room in bldg 2, facing the garden. It was peaceful and quiet. Perfect!

They have been removing the clocks from all the rooms. They are also available from Housekeeping upon request. So either they hadn't gotten to your room yet or the guest before you requested one and they forgot to remove it once they checked out.
Interesting! Had I known, I would have called. It wasn't a deal breaker, but definitely a nuisance.

I'm sure this has been asked & answered somewhere in this 214 page thread, but 214 pages seem insurmountable to catch up on right now, so I'll chance asking & hope for the best... lol.

We haven't stayed at FQ since 2010 but are hoping to remedy that in 2016. We have a multi generational family group of 3 & do not wish to share beds. Can I request a roll away, does FQ still have them?

I know that we've had one at Pop and at CBR before the Murphy beds were added. I believe it was $15 a night... but I've been lead to believe that they are being phased out in favour of inflatable mattress's.

If anyone can provide me with up to date info, I would be grateful for the help. It will make planning easier!

Big thanks! :)

Sorry, no they don't. Your best option would be to bring (or order from Amazon/etc) an inflatable mattress which will fit nicely next to the existing queen bed near the door. The resort can supply spare bedding, pillows, etc. for you.

Thanks for the quick reply Andre! Much appreciated!

I just booked FQ for October. It'll be my first time staying there...I'm still a little nervous because I love CSR and didn't love POR, but I'm hoping it was a good choice! It'll just be 2 adults in a king bed room!

Iv done both, and the size of FQ will always be the thing i love the most about it. Just booked again tonight for December. If its not the sizing I like, it would be the boat ride to Disney Springs.. iv always hated the bus stops at (well then) down town, they always seemed to take forever to show up, and the numbers were never very clear on the marketplace end. Just hop on the boat back for a nice relaxing ride!!

Is it possible to phone the resort directly with room requests, or do we have to go through the WDW reservation line?

Thank you. I did send a Fax. Any idea about how effective the Fax's are?

If you fax 3-5 days out, when the resort would be able to deal with it, pretty good.

Prior to that, all that can really be done is to get a note added to your reservation on the system (which can also be done by the central reservations phone line anyway).

Does anyways me have the May activities schedule? With what movies will be playing? Leaving Friday for a week

Joining in! Free dining didn't work out for us so we will be doing a split stay between Cabana Bay at Universal and POFQ! I'm so excited, I've been wanting to try out French Quarter for years!!

Not yet, but I should have it in the next couple of days (anything before the official first handout on the first of the month is a bonus)
