I am never riding Space Mountain again! A Marathon Weekend TR Complete

I forgot to comment about your Grandma and Aunt trying the Beverly. Did they know about it in advance (stupid Magical Express video spoils the secret now!) What did they think?

I have a video of Ben's first time, when he was 9. He may have said a naughty word. :rolleyes1

I wonder if they ever had a problem with someone deflating Baymax with their pins?

Chip and Dale are AWESOME!!!

I'm impressed with the pictures from Nemo, the acquariums and Living With the Land, especially at the beginning of the ride. My pictures before the greenhouse NEVER come out well!

That is a really good point about the fish they specifically raiser for food.

I did the Behind the Seeds tour the day after you rode. That was my main reason for going into EPCOT that day.

:flower1:

When did the new (old) animatronics go into the Mexico ride? Was it after August? I didn't notice them then, and I didn't ride in January.

I love the Mexico pavilion. It is so colorful and beautiful!

I'm glad they made the train set up in Germany a permanent addition. It used to be Ben's favorite thing in the World Showcase.

Judy actually didn't try it because of my grandmas reaction. My grandma made the ew face and said it was quite bitter:

I don't know if they have ever had problems with baymax and pins maybe they are just taking precautions.

Chip and Dale are awesome!

I always take a ton of photos in living with the land. Nemo didn't come out that well but I did okay with it.

I've always wanted to do the behind the seeds tour but just never have.

I think it was in the fall and there wasn't any announcement they just magically appeared.

I agree about Mexico. The adults in my group also enjoy the margaritas lol.

The train is one of those little things that I hope never goes away.

Breaking News!

Well today was registration day for Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend...

I knew I would I be back but I just didn't know what exactly I wanted to do. After lots of debating and discussion I am

Officially going Dopey in 2017!

That's right folks 48.6 miles in four days!

That's not all. My youngest sister Sydnee will be running the Mickey Mile again. My Mom is doing the 5K and so are about 7 of our good friends!

I hope to get an update about our dinner at Chefs De France up tonight or tomorrow. As soon as I finish this TR I will be starting a PTR!

Officially going Dopey in 2017!

That's insane!! But I get it...my hubby wants to do that at some point too...the medals are pretty awesome! I would so love to do a Disney run..I just wish the timing for that weekend was better for us - it's just too close to the Christmas holidays for us to be able to try to get away...maybe one day it will work out hopefully!!! That's so exciting for you though and I look forward to the PTR :)

Have you looked at any of the other weekends like Star Wars, princess, or Wine and Dine maybe those work out better for you. Dopey definitely will be insane but if all goes well maybe I will do it again in 2018 for the 5th anniversary of Dopey, 5th anniversary of the 10K, and the 25th anniversary of the full marathon.

Yeah those will definitely work out better at some point. I have to convince hubby that it's worth travelling for a half marathon though (Mr IronMan doesn't want to travel for anything less than a full anymore..sigh...but maybe if I'm the one doing the half he will consider it lol!! Dopey would definitely be a huge accomplishment!

Hey look at that!

Before I get into this update I want to talk about a couple of other current things. Today as I had already posted previously was Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Registration day. My mom and I really went back and forth on this. I wanted to do Dopey she wanted me to just do Goofy and save some money. Since in 2017 we will be going with a group of friends as well that will be running the 5K we mutually decided that I could do Dopey. So in 2017 I will be going at the 48.6 mile beast that is Dopey. I can already tell this is going to be a fantastic week come January. I will start a PTR eventually for that but I need to finish this one first.

Another big decision that has been looming for me. Where I am going to college. It was officially decided that this fall I will attend Marquette University here in Milwaukee. With that I will study Civil Engineering. Marquette wasn't my first choice but they also weren't my last choice. I also received about $24,000 in scholarship money which helped make that decision. Now on with the show!

My mom had sent me some photos of their dinner at Le Cellier so I will post them here.

They actually got finished before we even started dinner. We were still making our way through World Showcase towards France. We were walking along and then my sister was like hey look at the characters over there! It was a Character Palooza! I have never gotten to see one of those so I had to go get some pictures.

Mr. Smee

Winnie the Pooh

Donald Duck (This was my favorite of the meets)

Donald loved my medal.

Pluto!

There were a couple more but they were characters we had met already like Goofy and Minnie so we headed out to go to Chefs de France!

The decor was nice nothing extraordinary but nice.

I don't seem to have a picture of the french bread but that was very good. I believe all of us ending up getting the Prix Fixe menu. My salad and my grandmas French Onion soup.

I got the mac and cheese dish as did my two sisters. It was very good and very rich.

My grandma and Judy both got the same thing.

And this was my dessert also very good.

My sisters dessert

And my grandma's

And that was that. Would I eat at Chefs de France again? Yes. Did I enjoy my meal? Yes. Were there any major complaints? Nope, not really service was good, food was good. Overall it was a good meal and a place I would recommend.

When we exited France it was raining! We were originally planning to head to DHS to watch the star wars fireworks, well that didn't seem like it was happening...

So what did we end up doing?

Up next: The rain never bothered me anyway

Congratulations on picking a college. That's a good choice. Plus, free money never hurts;) A few years after you graduate, where you went to school doesn't usually matter, unless it was MIT or something. Good luck with the Goofy. I think you still really enjoy it. The discipline necessary to train for that will help you a lot in college. I think the characters are in training. Chefs de France looks really good. I think next family vacation, we are going to try Monsieur Paul, so that DS can get a steak on the kids menu:)

Thanks!

Marathon weekend 2017 will definitely be something. It's the 20th anniversary of the half marathon so that should be extra fun.

Chefs de France was quite good. Maybe some day I'll get to Monsieur Paul.

1 - Exciting decision to go Dopey! Wishing you much luck and tons of fun next time around.
2 - CONGRATULATIONS on your college decision and your scholarship. That is very exciting!
3 - Donald is my absolute favorite, too!!

Donald is the best!

So in 2017 I will be going at the 48.6 mile beast that is Dopey.

Congrats again, that is so exciting! No idea how you train for such a think lol but I guess you will find out!

It was officially decided that this fall I will attend Marquette University here in Milwaukee.

Way to go on making that decision, I'm sure that wasn't easy. Though I guess the scholarships helped! Funny because here in Canada...that $24000 would get you 4 years tuition and then some lol

Yeah I'm not exactly sure either but I will figure it out.

Thanks! Wow I never thought about college costs in Canada. My school for one year is around 40,000 a year.

I also received about $24,000 in scholarship money which helped make that decision.
Wow! That's awesome! Congratulations. I'm sure that will help a lot. But I guess being Canadian I have a slightly different sense of how much education $24,000 buys you. Like @KathyM2 said above, it goes a lot farther up here. My entire 4 year degree didn't cost me $24,000 (although it was 20 years ago, so I'm sure the cost has gone up since :P. Boy, I feel old now. I guess you were just a baby then, Ryan?)

Would I eat at Chefs de France again? Yes.
I've never been, but the food looks great. I have a weakness for good, rich mac and cheese. Most every review I've read about Chefs de France has been positive.

20 years ago I wasn't born yet! I turn 18 on Mother's Day.

Chefs de France is worth a try and I definitely would get that Mac and cheese again.

Wow, lot's of great things! Congrats on the college decision and on being signed up for Dopey :) I look forward to hearing about your training and the race itself. I'm thinking about doing the marathon at some point.
