Alright! Finally after that free dining marathon of posts, I ended up with CSR Business Class Oct 1st through the 8th! Now to wait for Orbitz discount codes. I'm hoping for RPR for 2 nights.

For those who have already made your ADRs, have you been able to book later dinner times (after 6pm) in MK on non-party nights? Or are you still waiting for Disney to release more times?

We're only there one non party night, when I was trying to get my ADRs Tonys and Plaza had late reservations available that night, 8:50ish I think

Both party days I checked don't have reservations past 5:50pm (Tony's, Plaza and CRT).

Wife was on the phone for 2 hours trying to get a discount for our October trip and didn't get anything. Maybe she can elaborate more but seems like BS they advertise discount rooms for the time we are going and somehow we don't qualify.

I'm confused, what do you mean you dont qualify? I glanced at the offers, and it seems everything other than FD is available for all of October.

I was on for two hours also. Our dates qualify for room discount. I'm guessing the "allotted" rooms are booked. Wish they could just simply ADD discount to a reservation that's there. We're at CBR and the only offer was pirate room, which would cost me MORE with discount. Besides who wants a pirate room for an anniversary celebration

After a two hour wait, finally got through to change our dates to get FD!!!!

Please change our dates to Oct 1st -6th!!
We are still at POP.

Hi guys! You can officially take me off the list for October. After staying up all night and book FD around 4am this morning we ended up switching to September. The original plan was to go October 1-11 which would have fallen into FD dates but there was no availability for anything but a pirate room. I was pretty upset this morning but I managed to get some sleep and now I feel better about the switch. It turns out it falls in with our 12th anniversary which I hadn't even realized this morning and I'm trying to tell myself that a three week difference won't make a huge impact on the weather (we HATE being hot!). See ya guys!

My TA emailed me yesterday that I might qualify for FD but I'd have to move resorts. This trip is for DD's birthday and she has her heart set on AoA Little Mermaid room. So I'm not trying for any discounts.

In some ways, that makes things less stressful. I got all the ADR's I wanted so now it's just paying it off and waiting for 60 days to roll around to make FP+.

So I switched resorts a couple times on free dining day, once to Pop and then to CSR. I told my son before he went to school yesterday we were going to Pop, and he seemed surprisingly bummed out about it! I guess he was looking forward to the CBR pool area. So now I'm thinking maybe I should surprise him with the change to CSR. He does really well with surprises and thought it looked cool when I was asking about second choices the other night. I don't even know if I could keep it a secret for so many months. What would you guys do?

If you think about it, that's not really all that shady. It's basic economics. When some rooms/resorts sell quickly, they have no need to discount. A new mobile phone (say an iPhone or Samsung) will likely see fewer discounts compared a lesser known brand. Of course, there are other factors there too (older models, contract dates, provider specials etc) that can effect that but for the most part, those concepts are pretty consistent. Disney has unsold inventory that people are unwilling or unable to purchase at full price, they have two choices: they can either leave the price as is and hope someone will eventually buy, or than can offer a discount of some kind to entice people to purchase the unsold inventory.

There are people who act as if every single room in every category gets discounted but that's obviously not true. They do not guarantee or promise a discount. Others are made to feel like a sucker or fool when they pay full price for something they enjoy. That's also complete and total nonsense as well. If you have something you like, and you're willing/able to pay for it, then don't feel badly for that.

This has been a crazy week, I've been so consumed by Free dining. Which I got but ended up cancelling because I didnt want a pirate room at CBR. BUT, it worked out in our favor because I ended up getting a really great deal through a TA for POFQ for the second part of our trip, and now were staying at Cabana Bay the first three nights of our trip! I guess things do happen for a reason. I'm so much more excited for our vacation now!!
