*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

Officially booked for December 19-23 at AKL club level!!!!

Super excited (but also nervous about the crowds) and already planning our meals, even though I have months before I can even make reservations. Hoping I get them too! This trip is gonna be all about the food and checking out Christmas decorations at other resorts. This will be our 3rd trip to WDW; we live in California, so we usually go to Disneyland. We usually go at the beginning of December when the crowds are lower, but my school schedule didn't allow that this year. We were going to skip our annual trip because of that and also all the construction going on at DL this year, but as I'm sure you all understand, we just couldn't not go. We decided on WDW because we miss the food (especially the Brown Derby and Le Cellier!) and we want to see the new expansion of Harry Potter at Universal.

Preparing myself for the crowds, we're going to plan exactly what we want to see and focus on that. I've got a lot of reading up to do about fastpass+ since we haven't gone since that started.

Well with free dining released today that firmed up our plans. We booked Coronado for 17-25. Our plan is Santa will deliver presents early and our big present is this trip. Haven't worked it out exactly how we will do that and am open to suggestions. DH would like to leave after school the 16th. Do we warn them he is coming early? Open presents before school or when they arrive home? I have worked out a possible itinerary but days may be flipped based on EMH when they are released

17- late arrival Disney springs eat quick service
18- water park half day, quick service lunch, nap, quick service dinner, MVMCP
19- sleep in use FP for afternoon at HS quick service both meals
20- MK CP for early entry breakfast and BOG dinner
21- EPCOT Akershues breakfast and Morroco dinner
22- AK Tusker House for whatever meal
23 EPCOT meals TBT but probably 2 TS
24- MK castle early entry breakfast and skipper dinner
25- TBT before departure

Thoughts?

Hi, this is my very first post! I just discovered this forum a few days ago. My boyfriend and I have a Disney/Universal trip booked for December 2-10, December 2-7 at Disney and 7-10 at Universal. It will be my very first time (at 28) at Disney, and I have been researching for weeks!

I am so excited I can't stand it! Pumped to have stumbled onto these boards, I have already learned so much. :cheer2:

I don't have any specific questions at the moment, I have had most of them answered already just by stalking. Currently trying to narrow down restaurants for ADR's - there are so many to choose from, and reviews are so subjective! Just happy to be here though. :goodvibes

We will be there then as well except at Disney the whole time. We will take a day for SW and possibly Gatorland. Where are you staying and where are you from?

We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for the Disney portion! We are originally from Maryland, living in Rhode Island, and moving back to Maryland soon. How about you?

Thank you!

That is so funny we are in MD. We will be staying at the YC. It will be our first time at an EPCOT resort. We stayed at AKL as the second resort of a split stay our last trip. We love Boma for breakfast or dinner or both! We try to go every few years and stay at different resorts so the last few trips did a split stay. We just went for Thanksgiving and I was able to convince my family to go again this year but we decided to just be at 1 resort.

So I'm new to the boards as well!! We booked our wdw trip this morning (actually we just moved dates due to FD)! I'm so excited!! My husband, kids ages 6 & 8, my mom and myself are going December 10-17. We are staying at CBR with a Murphy bed! This is our second time going to wdw. First time was the week of thanksgiving! Crazy crowds! Has anyone been the week that we have booked for this trip? Any advice?

Officially here! Me, DH,DM, and DD(2) at CSR Dec 10-17. My daughter's first trip.
Can't wait to start the pixie dust brainwashing-not that I already have ;-)
Now to agonize over hours, dining, and fastpasses, which to me is so much fun!

Crowds will not be nearly as bad, but I think Disney is busy just about 365 days a year now. But I think the 2nd week is kinda of the sweet spot in December. After Pop Warner and before kids get out for school

Hello!!! This is my first time on this thread! I've been booked for a month or so but we were able to get FD this morning! We were going to stay at POR but we will now be staying at CBR. We'll be there from 12/12 - 12/22 and I can hardly contain myself!!! This is my very first trip to Disney and mine and my husband's first vacation together (14 years). I'm having so much fun planning!!! I love reading everything you all post!!!! I've been researching restaurants like crazy so I can be prepared for ADRs!!!

Define crazy. I don't think it is that bad. Some people say they barely see them and don't impact crowds very much. Others say they are everywhere and annoying. I have never been that week, so I defer full judgement to those who have.
You'll be fine.

Thanks!! I'm hoping so!!

Hello to my fellow December Disney(ers)!! Jumping into this thread after being caught up in the "free dining watch" thread for a couple of weeks. I see a lot of familiar faces here so I guess that means many of you got the dates you were hoping for. Congrats to all!!!

Staying at CSR Dec. 10-18. This will be our family's first time visiting WDW for the holidays and we are so excited to start planning/booking. A little over a month to go and we will hit our 180+10 date! Never in my life did I ever think I would wish for summer to just be over before it even starts! Looking forward to reading here and sharing in the excitement as the days go by.

Question to anyone who may know: when do they usually release the EMH schedule for Dec.? And when do you expect tickets to go on sale for MVMCP?

Hi all! We are going home Dec. 12-21st! It'll be our 1st stay at CSR! I was fortunate to get Free Dining and am SO excited!

Just curious on everyone's thoughts about mickeys Christmas party? Is it worth the extra money?
