Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

They are located in every building except for the Pirate Themed rooms in Trinidad South. There is no area that has more than another.
Is there a best location that is at the standard level? I know the resort is huge and it's our first time staying there. I'm a bit nervous on where and what to expect.

We've stayed in every village in a standard room and there isn't a bad location IMHO. Our favorite is Jamaica 45 with Aruba 51 right behind it. Both are 3-4 minute stroll across the bridge to OPR and the Main Feature pool.

Every village has its own bus stop and leisure pool so you'll never be far from one.

Do you find the buses run well or long waits? Thanks for all you info!

I've actually decided to bump my trip up to September 2017 since October was nixed from free dining this year. Do you guys have any suggestions where we should go for our "Yay, we made it!" dinner? We'll arrive pretty early so time won't be a big problem, but I've heard mixed reviews. I was thinking Chef Mickey's, but some of ya's downright hate that place! Any recommendations are welcome. Just not in park since we won't have unlimited access! Thanks!

We usually do Chef Mickey's or Garden Grill on our first night depending on which park we do. I would give Chef Mickeys try. I'm not sure why people are saying they hate it so much. My family loves it. The food is good and the character interaction is great!

Need help. Looking for standard room near bus stop and food court. Any help would be great.
Really any of the rooms are going to be fairly close to a bus stop, as each village has its own separate bus stop.

Food court gets a little trickier. Preferred rooms are going to be the closest, but Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 are pretty close too. You have to be a little careful picking Jamaica or Aruba as requests though, as the buildings on the ends of those villages can be about as far away as anything except Trinidad South.

Only real way to make sure you are close to the food court and main pool area is to request a preferred room.

We are going to be at the resort during christmas week...

We've gone during Christmas week- twice. Probably need our heads examined, but it can be a magical time to go. Buses are the least of your worries. Parks, especially MK, can fill up and close pretty early in the day. Around 10 AM for the MK on one of our days, if I recall correctly.

I'd suggest going early in the day for a few hours and then go back in the evening. After the fireworks, the crowds will be very manageable and the parks will be open much later. Some rides like Kali or Splash Mountain can be walk-ons since many people (except some, like us crazy Canuks) think it's too cold for water rides. Come on, really, it's still liquid, what's the problem, lol!

Your fellow park-goers will be the real challenge. On one of our trips we arrived on Dec 18th. Everyone seemed pretty cheerful and just glad to be there, nice, but still crowded. Then on the 22nd or 23rd, things changed, it wasn't just crowded but a tone of "desperation" seemed to settle in. We saw way more kids melting down, like a girl around 12 years old bursting into tears because her drink was gone. And we began hearing a lot of the "this vacation cost a lot of money so you'd better..." talk. It was like everyone who had driven across the country nonstop, went straight to the parks without any rest that day. I actually felt sorry for quite a few of them, as I've certainly experienced the parks on little sleep after flying all night to get there. I can imagine them going on this "magical" vacation without knowing about the research needed ahead of time and then, wham! Full park mayhem without any warning.

Now, after all that, I wish you a wonderful trip. Disney is great at Christmas but do manage your expectations.

Hey All!
I'm here at CBR now and it's really nice. We are first timers at Disney. I requested room Jamaica 4556 on Touring Plans. I received the text our room was ready. It was Jamaica 4327. I needed a parking pass so wound up going to customs. I happened to ask if there was anything avail in Jamaica 45. Soooooo room 4555 was avail!! Right next to the one I requested through touring plans!! So I'm not so sure if that works. the cast member was super super nice. And switched us no problem!! The walk is so convenient over the bridge. Perfect location!!

So glad you're liking it so far. Jamaica 45 is our favorite location! I hope you have a Magical Stay!

Great thread! We have a preferred room and would like to know what building to request. Thank you

With the free dining that was released this morning, we switched our stay from AKL to CBR (saving us a huge chunk of $). I have been reading over this thread all weekend and am very excited to stay here. We will be there Dec 17-26 :santa:
We just booked the exact same dates!! Saved a bundle as well. This will be our first Christmas at Disney and our first stay at CBR! Very Excited!!!

This is what we're going to be doing next year. I originally wanted to be there the week of Halloween, but now that Disney went and eliminated October from free dining, we stepped it up to September instead. It's okay, because I'll still get to participate in Food and Wine and MNSSHP. I was really worried reading what other people had to say about CBBR, but the friendly people over this way seriously helped put my concerns to rest. We're a family of walkers, so I don't see the size many complain about to be too big a factor. The heat might come into play, but it's FL! And honestly, considering the most exotic place I've ever been to is Canada, I have a feeling this Caribbean theme and vibe will be a new and exotic treat for me and mine! And since a "deluxe" room to me is Hampton Inn, I have a feeling this trip will be well worth the wait!

I had no plan to book a trip today but ended up getting a great deal w FD for Dec 12-17. We've never stayed at BCR but I'm really excited to be there! It was one of the few affordable options for a family of 5 (this is the first time we've stayes as a fam of 5 bc our baby is now 3 and counts as a "guest" :P) and I'm so glad we caught the deal for FD when we did. I'm going to be reading through the thread but any suggestions or helpful hints any of you vets may have would be appreciated!!
