2016 Free Dining Watch ~ Part 2

Good morning!! So I took a snooze from around 2-4 est. At around 4:06 am I was able to book FD! I wanted CR GW 11/26-12/2. Had to drop a night to 11/27-12/2 to get it, nothing was available for that first night. I'm ok with that. We had initially been up in the air about 5 nights or 6, plus I can keep trying to see if it opens up for that additional night.

Overall getting FD at the resort I want for the week that I want, minus one night, leaves me feeling happy and successful! Wishing for lots of pixie dust for everyone else!

YAY!! I was able to secure 4 nights Preferred Room POP Century (8-12 September) with the free dining and we paid the difference to upgrade the Quick Service plan to the standard plan. I'm in Australia, so was online as soon as it went live (it's 9pm here right now but it went live around 6pm here). We booked through an agent but because I was up when it went live I didn't want to run the risk of missing out and made my own secondary booking. If my agent comes through with an updated booking including the free dining I can always cancel my booking and get the deposit refunded. This was the last thing we were worried about for our September trip. Very happy and excited.

booked september 30 to october 8th at all star music. It was actually hard to get a room online if I searched for any resort it said it was full, if I searched for just all star music then there was a standard room showing

Logged in at 3:30am (pst) and was able to modify my reservation at Pop to free dining and even upgraded the dining plan. The site never went down.

Mine did this. I had to rebook under a new reservation and cancel the old one.

We were able to change by going to the change resort button in our DME. It allowed us to select the free dining option so we didn't have to rebook the whole thing

Got it! Booked a Standard at Pop for about $500 more than i was paying at Movies with upgraded Dining Plan, i'm TOTALLY OK with that!

I was not happy that the other offers (not FD) didn't work for me. Specific requirements, such as had to stay Sunday through Thursday, when my trip begins on a Monday. Oh well, so it goes with the mouse.

My ADR date is May 16; have QSDP so paying OOP, might make one ADR.

FP+ date is 9/13 so plenty of time to obsess over that

Very excited to get FD!!!! I checked at 4:03am and it wasn't up. DH woke up at 4:13 and it was up. Didn't have any trouble with the website, just availability for my dates (Sept 15-25). Couldn't get first choice of CBR. Pop also wasn't available. Ended up at CSR which is just fine.

I was hoping if I kept positive, I'd get lucky! LOL!! But yes, in my heart I knew it wasn't going to show availability for the Poly. Cracking up bc I almost made another new reservation too! I was thinking BC or AKL, but my family is hell bent on staying at Poly since it was under construction and we stayed at the GF last time we were there. I try to get my husband and girls to branch out a bit, but all these years being spoiled by the monorail has left them tough to convince. They know what they like. LOL!!

Pretty sure we'll try for RO and no DDP. If we switch to BC it only saves us a few hundred bucks ultimately.

EXACTLY!!!! Our Families sound similar!


I have 2 ressies now......trouble is if We do ALK with FD, I have to split stay for one day....and miss all that POLY goodness......

The Price ends up to be about the same...

How to choose...

1. Spilt stay one day (POLY? AKL?) then rest at AKL with FD>.>>>>
2. Just stay at POLY no FD and hope for a RO discount in July...

The fact I am considering this should tell you how much we love the POLY....

I would love to hear feedback on AKL..especially the transportation....I WILL have a car, But really like monorail convenience...

I was originally booked at Pop Century, but the room type (roll in shower with king/double beds) wasn't available for free dining, so booked a new reservation at All Star Sports instead.

I also can't modify or cancel my original reservation, so I'll call later.

I'm glad it started on our check in date! 8/23 - 9/1! Yay for us.

It's cool that we get a round of mini golf plus admission to Disneyquest as well. We'll spend a day at Disney Springs since our annual passes will expire a couple days before we leave. We'll save the tickets for next spring!
