☆☆ The Official October 2016 Thread ☆☆

I'm a little bummed about BTMRR - I hope the rest of the rehab schedule for October get announced soon.

Son of a biscuit! I was worried that would happen. That's my favorite ride in MK too. Figures. Is this confirmed yet or just rumored? I'm still seeing old refurb dates and I've heard those aren't accurate.

I believe it's been confirmed. :( Oh well, on the bright side, it opens up one of my FP+ selections.

Please add me, we are booked to go 10/22-10/29. There will be 11 of us, yikes!!! We are staying at Disney Movies but considering moving to Art of Animation. We are very excited to go to the MNSSHP and really hope they let the adults wear costumes.

That's where we are staying too! We'll be there 10/19-10/26. :)

Joining in!

We will be there Oct 18-28 at BLT. Room, flights and tickets in place... So excited! Can anyone make the the time go faster?

We will be at BLT at the same time....I see drinks in our future !

We are going back home! AKL October 8-October 16. It's been far to long since we stayed at AKL.

Hey Oct 2016 friends! I was originally planning on spending a day at universal, but after weighing the costs, I've decided to spend another day in the parks. Is it possible to add a day to my MYW package, and what would be the easiest/best way to do that?

Hey. We decided against going over to the dark side for a day as well. Hooray more time at WDW! As for your question, I'm not sure the easiest way but I do know that some things can be changed online. Otherwise, you might have to call.

Instead of ditching Universal I decided to go ahead and split stay (especially since I'll have a rental car). Oct 1st through 7th at Disney (CBR, maybe switch to POR if I can) then over to RPR for 3 nights. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, moreso than Disney so it'll be amazing! I'm hoping the Star Wars fireworks are still going because that would be a great way to spend our first night which also happens to be my birthday!

Looks like I'm joining the October trip club! We originally planned on December, but due to college finals, that puts us too close to Christmas, so we have to go earlier, bummer!:cheer2:We'll be there 10/6-10/11, seven of us (me, dh, ds/fiance, dd, ds and dd) in three rooms at POP. It'll be youngest dd's first trip, and she is my biggest Disney nut, so this will be so exciting! Hoping to do MNSSHP, and def have to take her to BBB and a princess dinner, so far that's all that is definite. Looking forward to planning with you all! :woohoo:

For those of you who have done trip reports in the past, what is your favorite way of keeping track of everything that happens? I'm planning to do a TR for our upcoming trip and I'm trying to decide how I can best document it while I'm there. I'm thinking the good ole hand written trip journal may be my best bet. What do you do? Write it down? Keep tabs on your laptop/cell phone? Take a million pictures and use those to jog your memory of the day's occurrences?? Or do you just have a super human memory to just be able to recall everything?? I'm interested to hear about your methods..

Last time I was at Disney, it was $10 a day for wifi. :headache: So every night I would use my laptop and write what we did that day as DD and DH were getting ready for bed.

I'm having a minor panic attack and would like some opinions.

I'm getting mixed results with crowd calendars for our week (10/9-10/15) I know the weekend will be crowded with Columbus Day, but some websites have the crowd level at moderate(for the week) and some at heavy. Am I just panicking for no reason? Should I prepare for heavier crowds? Am I just going into Disney planning overload? :badpc: Lol

Ack! I didnt even think about Columbus Day :scared: We'll be there 10/6-10/11, I'm sure you'll get lower crowds as the week goes on :)

Yes, the weekend will be heavy (we were there that week in 2014), but after the holiday crowds will thin out.

I figured that arriving the Sunday before would allow for the holiday weekenders to thin out as the week goes on. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best!

We'll just make the best of it! :) A day at Disney is better than a day at home right? lol. It's so hard with 4 kids (elem, middle, high & college/reserves) to find a time to go thats not over summer/spring/winter break!

I think our thread starter left us. Columbus day weekend will be busy but crowds should taper off the following week. Hit most recommended parks on the weekend and you should be OK.
