News Round Up 2016

So Rivers of Light and night time safari's by the end of April then? There's no way Pandora is ready for that.

This is fairly in line with how they handled New Fantasyland. Lots of promotion well in advance of the big addition, 7DMT. Mind you, the other additions to NFL were more substantial than what's opening initially at DAK, but they'll get a good few years out of the DAK "New" campaign. By then they'll be ready to launch the ?DHS? "new" campaign.

I'm not saying you WONT get wet on the drop, but if I get very wet when riding, it's more often after the last drop when we're coasting back to the load/unload area. There's this little waterfall that you can get stuck by once in a while if the logs are backed up. Just make sure when you're getting into your log, your husband and his camera bag get in first. That way if you get stuck next to the waterfall, you can take one for the team. :P

He might just have to not ride, or we can use the special raincoat that came with the bag. I don't want to risk the camera or lenses getting wet. Thanks for the heads up.

I blame @HopperFan for all of the nice things said about it and what a good value it is:) Actually, it probably WAS a good value at $99. $129 is a bit harder to justify maybe.

The only more Frozen I want is Daiquiris !

Or a margarita:)

:)

When I did my survey I told them they didn't charge enough. :rolleyes1

To repeat what I posted elsewhere -

We feel it was a bargain at $99 and still probably under priced at $129 for what you get, but in order to book a full room at each seating they need to keep that price attractive.

To compare:

Symphony Sky Dessert Party is $69 for Desserts, Specialty Drinks, Stein and viewing area (equal to a FP+) outside at stand up tables. Fireworks as well but you can see them with equal view for free a few inches away over the rope.

Club Villain was $99 for Champagne outside at stand up tables, move inside to amazing decorations in event venue with assigned seating at tables for delicious Dinner Buffet, Desserts, Specialty Drinks, Beer, Wine, Dance Party, Musical Show and 4 Meet & Greet in highly themed sets with virtually no wait for 4 awesome characters. Room so decorated - there were many photo opportunities. Many more CMs clearing tables, assisting with food etc.

If you add up the items apart; Dinner buffet, Dessert party (since desserts much more than you find on buffets), champagne then free flowing alcohol, beer and wine, basically 4 FP+ to special characters, musical show, dance party with hard to see Dr. Facilier and all the CMs (worthy of a tip) you would be WAY over even the $129 price tag.

Seriously the best event we have ever attended. I'd do again AND pay $129.

Most camera bags are sufficiently waterproof while closed for anything short of a drenching or dunking. Neither of which should happen on that ride. If the bag has an additional waterproof layer you can put on the lenses you'll be fine.

I am actually fine with a 5 to 6 minute boat ride, as long as the theming is remarkable. I am hoping that this has some of the advanced AAs that James Cameron spoke about during development for this expansion. This one has the potential to be a very beautiful ride.

Yep, lots of potential here. I'm also very interested to see the 'trackless' boats - innovative transportation through the attraction could make quite a difference in the experience as well.

Seriously though - won't Frozen fever have chilled out by the time the broadway production is ready to debut? Or maybe the little snowflakes who grew up with the movie will then be the perfect age the enjoy the broadway production? While I don't particularly dislike Frozen, to me it doesn't have the seem deeply resonant story as Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. But I could be wrong.

I'm just bitter I couldn't get Lion King tickets. Even at $175 not a seat to be found.

This.

Our daughter was 5 when Frozen hit the theaters and was in love. She's been to NYC once, last year, and loved it. We haven't taken her to a Broadway show yet, but by the time this debuts, my guess is she'd be the perfect age.

I think that's it exactly. 'Let it Go' is the soundtrack of tens - if not hundreds - of millions of childhoods.

....and as I type this message Lego Frozen Princess Play set is advertised on TV. :)
