February 2016 Pre-trip and Trip Reports

Randy - Glad you got down safe and sound with little issue. I think the weather you are talking about is trying to come up the coast and give us some weather too.

So it was a very busy weekend for sure. But I did get the golf cart done and got to do something really cool to help break down the end of the Baltimore Auto Show. But not much on the packing front.

Friday night and Saturday where spent reupholstering the golf cart seats and the final product turned out pretty nice. The blue cart in one or two of the shots is the one we built last year. It was getting some service including new bushings on the rear springs as the original ones had blown out.

She still needs a minor bath and then loaded up on the trailer on Monday. Not too worried about the bath because we usually need to wash them when we get to FW. But the project is DONE!!!!

On Sunday I got a call from a friend to give a hand towing some cars from Baltimore back to Tysons Corner, VA after the Baltimore Auto Sow was done. We had 3 cars to pick up, a 2016 Aston Martin Vanquish, a 2016 Bentley GT-3R and a 2016 McLaren 675LT. Once the show was over drove them out the loading bay doors and down a ways to the transporters. From there towed them to the dealership and offload. Would have loved to make the whole drive but hey better then nothing I always say.

With that fun over and done with tonight I start to load up clothing into the camper, my goal is by Thursday evening I am only doing final checks and being hitched up Friday night and hitting the road 7:30AM Saturday.

Yep, were really trying hard to avoid you, just couldn't bring ourselves to stoop to talking to anyone in a popup!!!! Especially when we started out many moons ago in a VW Camper - 'Not' all decorated with flowers though :D

You're right though, we are not easy to catch up with - just got back from seeing the Star Wars fireworks - really impressive! Oh, it's cold, cold, cold though! :cold: Don't have a cart or bikes though, so not apt to run around the campground much.

It sounds like there has been a stretch of rain and cold weather lately, NoM. It's not what I picture when I think of Florida. But hey, at least more sunshine is ahead.

I wanted because we do alot of our traveling at night, and I figured my DW and DS would like having a nice bed to sleep on, but I've come to find out my bunch could sleep on a paint shaker machine and be ok with it.

:rotfl2:

He made the loop while I backed in, had a crowd watched I think I disappointed them because it only took one try.

ISWYDT. (Subtle brag, gauntlet thrown down, pressure on the rest of us).

The weather forecast shows cool but sunny the next couple days.

At least they are calling for clear and 67, though the evening was a bit chilly. Looks like the warm up doesn't really kick back in till end of week though.

Hey Mike, if yall are round tomorrow afternoon, maybe we can meet up. We're about to go watch the EP and Fireworks. I'll show you how to post pics. I seen yalls big bill board class c while ago.

Hey Randy, I will try to swing by tonight. We found a great place to watch the fireworks last night off the horse trail out the back of the 300 loop. Going there tonight if it is not too cold for thr little one.

Can't hurt to at least hear what the offer is, uh, right? popcorn::Just for yucks...

Standing here waiting on the Finding Nemo Show I got a text wanting to know if I'm the guy with the F450 for sell and how much for it. I might be upgrading trucks,
Tiggerdad, might need you to come pick up my camper...:rolleyes1

Not a problem. Give me a 48 hour warning for prep and planning and I'm on my way.

Those cars make my jaw hit the floor. Only time I ever drove one of those was in the game Need for Speed.

Cart looks great.

Being a car guy and involved in the local racing community that includes all walks of profession and business it does give me some fun opportunities that is for sure.

Thanks on the cart, much better then her stock green body and 10 year old tan seats.

48 hours for Prep and Planning, Boy the holidays are over and Prep and Landing are goofing off already !!!

Tiggerdad, think the squirrels are getting restless here - have been several coming around our site - we just shoo them off and tell them to wait for you. Dh will have nothing to do with them - at home gets pellet rifle after them - they want our bird's food and 'love' green tomatoes (almost ready to ripen).

For anyone interested, we like the bus wait time screen at the outpost - so far has been nearly spot on for us!!

Tell your husband he is living a dangerous life. I would advise at least feeding a little bread or cereal. If you come back to find the lock picked and your pantry cleaned out it's your own fault.

We had good luck with the wait time screen at the bus stop.

Anybody know what the price on Randy's truck is up to?
