DAY 6
December 9th, 2015 - Wednesday
Magic Kingdom
(( Okay. I'm not even gonna lie to ya'll. Normally I have my TRs wrapped by now. It's been almost 2 months since my trip, and my memory is getting SUPER foggy. And I don't take notes, sooooo... yeah. I guess what I'm saying is expect the rest of this report to be mostly pictures and gifs, and lighter on narration. ))
We were up an at 'em this morning early, and on our way for another pre-park-opening breakfast! We got into Magic Kingdom but were running a few minutes late, so we didn't stop for photos, we headed right to the restaurant.
Despite running late, the hostess did tell us it would be a few minutes, so then we did grab a couple of photos. Not directly in front of the castle like I had hoped, but this will do!
(For those of you following my PTR for my upcoming October 2016 trip, this is the picture I'm using as my "Before" comparison shot as I lose weight!)
I love this pic of Aunt Debby!
After the short wait, our pager went off and we were shown to our table. I can't recall her name, but I remember that our server was VERY sweet! The chef came out and took Debby for a walk along the buffet to explain what had gluten and mushrooms, then we all loaded up our plates!
YUM YUM YUM! I can't wait to go back here, everything was so super delicious! For more about our delicious breakfast noms, you can visit my Dining Report
HERE!
And of course, as we all know, the yummy noms aren't the only attraction here at the Crystal Palace, no not at all! We got to spend some time with friends, too!
Me and Pooh, we was sharing secrets...
Pooh decided that Aunt Debby talks too much...
SO. MUCH. FUN!
After breakfast, I sent them off to have fun on the Jungle Cruise, while I scooted my way across the park to Tomorrowland. Yeah, it was time for a little bit more of this...
I'm such a nerd.
As I was leaving Tomorrowland, I stopped for a Photopass pic!
Then I zoomed back over to Adventureland and met back up with them so we could hang out with some scurvy scallywags. That is to say, use our FPs for Pirates of the Caribbean! Then we were off to Frontierland! Aunt Debby found a place to relax and call home to check in with folks, while Mark and went off to hit a couple of big kid rides! Big Thunder Mountain, and then my personal favorite... Splash Mountain!
My face, you guys. Seriously.
Also, another stupid arm raiser completely blocked the face of the child behind him. WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS.
It's not even my family and I'm mad on their behalf! (Don't defend it. Just don't.)
After that I think there was shopping, and there was definitely some more PhotoPass pics!
(I'm supposed to frame the above one for my grandmother, but I keep forgetting. Whoops!)
Then Mark and Debby were ready for our afternoon rest. Oddly, I decided not to join them. As much as I love my afternoon nap, and my resort time, and my
scooter could use the charge time... I just didn't want to leave!!! So. I didn't. I sent them off to the bus stops, and I just roamed. Snacked. Shopped. I don't think I even rode anything because the lines for everything were so crazy.
Oh. I did buy a balloon!...
Aaaaand so this happened...
Yes. I rolled out like that for the entire rest of the day/night. "Blending in" really isn't my thing.
Me and my new pal, hangin' out, gettin' to know each other!
Not long after, I got a text message from Amie (my high school friend Bruce's wife) and they were in MK too, so we met up in the Confectionery and bought tasty treats. We nommed on cake pops and chatted about how our trips were going for a while, then parted ways. And yes... I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF US. AGAIN.
But it was really great to get to spend a little more time with them!
Then I did a little bit of shopping on Main Street. My mom collects little sparkly trinkets on the top shelf of her curio/china cabinet, so I found this darling little Tinkerbell for her...
In the shop was this crystal Cinderella's Castle that I couldn't help but stop to Ooh and Aah over...
This could be yours for the low low asking price of $37,500! (Okay, maybe it was less than that. I just remember that it was definitely 5-digits.)
I also nabbed this photo of the REAL castle. Because BETTER!
Around this time I was starting to get a bit of a rumbly in my tumbly, so I decided it was time to seek out some lunch. I wandered over to the Friar's Nook in Fantasyland, and obtained this beautiful creation that I'd been chasing for over a year...
And of course, I gush about it's wonderfulness
HERE on my Dining Report!
When I finished my lunch, it was getting just about time to go find my spot for the Festival of Fantasy parade. I headed down into Liberty Square, as I know there to be a nice Wheelchair/ECV section there. Sure enough, they still had room for me and I scootched on in!
Some of you might remember that in April of last year, I tried to video this parade, and messed it all up. So this time... I redeemed myself! I got almost the entire thing! (At the 2:16 mark, you can hear one of the dancer ladies tell me "Happy Birthday!")
Confession Time: As I was watching the video just now to make sure it all uploaded correctly, twice I got choked up completely unexpectedly, and had to blink back happy tears. Why does Walt Disney World do that to me?!
After the parade, I popped into the Christmas store that was right there, and picked out an ornament for my BFF Rachel. Her family collects them, they get a dated ornament from the parks every year. But when she and her family where here in November, they completely forgot! So she asked me to pick one up for her, she didn't care what it looked like, it just had to say Walt Disney World and 2015 on it. But it turned out that they only had 2016 left in stock... All the 2015 Walt Disney World ornaments where already sold out! In the first week of December! I thought that was pretty poor planning, personally. (And yep, I had checked at Disney Springs in the shop there earlier in the week, too... Same situation.) So! I improvised... I found a really pretty blue Walt Disney World ornament, and had them personalize it with 2015 for me. (I wish I had taken a photo because it turned out SO CUTE!) I had it sent back to the resort, and then continued on my way.
I admitted defeat and knew that I needed to plug-in somewhere, so I made my way over to the Tangled Tinkle Spot. After waiting forever for an outlet to free up, and got my wheels all hooked up to charge for a bit. I still had about an hour or so until I'd be meeting back up with Mark and Debby, so I did the sensible thing... and took a scooter nap.
(Continued in Next Post...)
