Thank you for all your help, Bobbi! Cash the night of the cruise seems fine. I'm not sure if we will be staying the night at Disney or not since we are locals. Having 7 people will be ok, but an 8th person will be welcome too, either way is fine.

We are at Saratoga this time and I have been haunting the FP site trying to reserve for these fireworks. I think a cruise to get out of the crowds sounds awesome! You said you have done one before, can you share some of your experience and the exit details? I'm wondering if it might be easiest to grab a cab at the Contemporary back to SSR.

Beezle2, I have seen the 30th fireworks 3 times at the MK. Twice we took a Bus back to the Boardwalk after the fireworks, last year was when we rented a boat from WL, and we had our own car to drive back to VGF.

It takes awhile for the boat to get back to the dock. Taking a cab sounds good, or you can see how the buses would be. I remember the MK was open especially late when we were there, and many people stayed very late, the busses were not bad. The 30th is definitely not as bad as the 31st. Neither DHS nor Epcot has the late night fireworks.

We have 4 spots available for the special NYE-version of Wishes on the 30th of December (NOTE: NOT the 31st, this is for the day before, but the fireworks are the same as the 31st, they do a rehearsal the night before as confirmed by agent on phone), departing the Polynesian at around 11pm for the 11:50pm fireworks. The boat holds 8, but we'd like to keep it at 6, so it would come out to $79 per person, plus tip (whatever we decide is appropriate).
