"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

Sorry if this has been covered :) we are at magic kingdom today and have paper tickets for mvmcp tonight. Do we have to exit and then come back in for the party?

No. But you will need to pick up wristbands before 7:00. There will be various distribution places. Ask a CM if you need help finding one.

Quick question. My friend and his family are headed to the party on friday and his wifes boss claims they will be unable to meet and greet with any princesses durring the party. I told him that was absurd but before I fully put my foot in my mouth I thought I'd check in with the experts first...

All the princesses and their princes are out

Here's a link to the section of Kenny the Pirate's website that lists characters available during the party : http://www.kennythepirate.com/2013/06/06/mickeys-very-merry-christmas-party-characters/

How many characters do you think it's reasonable to attempt while still getting in the parade, fireworks, and a show or two?

We'd like to hit as many of the special characters as possible while enjoying the rest of the party events. Rides are not a priority at all during the party. We have two other days at MK

The boat to WL leaves from MK, not TTC, there is a ferry that goes from MK to TTC and back.
I really love WL, but unless we're eating there, we don't make a special trip. The GF on the other hand does have that amazing gingerbread house! (But you have seen it last year)...
Take into consideration that the boat ride is 20 minutes each way, and that you have to wait for the boat to arrive, IMHO I would stay on the MK side.

Thanks...appreciate the advice.

Sunday night was my major character night:

Sandy Claws (5pm)
Tiana/Naveen (6)
Cinderella/Charming/Rapunzel/Flynn (7)
Aurora/Phillip/Snow/Prince (8)
2nd half of 1st parade (8:30ish) (I saw this on Friday, so it wasn't a goal)
Aladdin/Abu (9)
CTM/Fireworks (9:15/9:30)
Pumpkin Waffle from Sleepy Hollow (10ish)
Donald/Scrooge/Daisy/Minnie (11ish)
Mickey (11:15)
Bert/Mary (11:45)
Tinkerbell (12)

Friday night was a little more relaxed:
7 Dwarfs (7:30)
Aurora/Phillip/Snow/Prince (8:30)
Peter/Wendy (9:15)
Fireworks (9:30)
Country Bears/wandering (10ish)
[find and wait for] Parade (10:30)
[follow parade to hub] Christmas stage show (11:20)
wander til midnightish

I probably could have gotten a few more characters either/both nights.

I did not go into Tomorrowland at all to see those shows, but that probably would have taken up at least one character slot on either night

Thanks so much for the time frames you listed for meeting characters...will hopefully help with my planning

Thanks! Hoping we can get that much in! We only have one party night so will be trying to get as much as possible in during those 5 party hours. After an early dinner we plan to get our party bands and pick a character to get in line for then go from there...

Was anyone able to get Fast Pass+ for after 7:00pm for parties? I looked and didn't see anything after 6:20pm for the December 3rd date. I even checked a couple rides I wouldn't expect to be super busy, like the Mad Hatter Tea Party. Do the Fast Pass+ not exist after 7:00pm or do you think they're just all already booked? Also, how important is it to have FP+ for the parties? How have ride lines been so far?

Sorry if this is a repeat question in these 108 pages of posts, but I don't need regular park admission, just party admission?

Found it. Nevermind. Off to buy my tickets.

Woah! Rapunzel/Cindy is showing as 120 minutes right now, even though Wishes just started! This is a must do for my 3 yo DD, but I don't see her lasting more than 30 min in that boring line. Any tips? We can't plan on doing anything much later than 10:30, but we will be in the park right at 4. And yes, it's Flynn she wants to meet so FP during the day won't work.

I wouldn't trust those wait times.

If they are a priority, get in line around 6 or 630. It will start outside until the line inside clears out, and then CMs will move everyone inside. The listed time was 10 minutes when I went by later, but it was more likely around 45-60 minutes based on the line that I could see.

I was in line at 6:20. They actually started meeting about 6:50. Once the daytime standby line cleared out, they filed us all in and let a few groups in at a time. I was in the 3rd corral with maybe 10 groups in front of me. My photos were taken at 7:10.

How have the wait times been for the 7 Dwarfs? For those of you who have attended the party recently, I would love to see information on what time you lined up and how long you had to wait. Also, if you had a CM take pictures with an iPhone, any advice on phone settings for the nighttime pictures?

No FP at all available during parties. It wasn't needed during our party. We walked on almost anything we rode last night. Our wait for SDMT was only 15-20. That was our longest ride wait.

Long time lurker, first time poster here with some rookie questions about the One-Day Memory Maker package. I've read a lot of info on it, but I just want to make sure I have it all straight before I float the idea to my family. I figured the DIS was a good place to ask, since everyone seems to be in the know! :)

The scenario: We have tickets for MVMCP on Dec. 8. We'll be arriving for 4:00pm admission and won't be going to any other parks that day. However, the little ladies in our group will be having an early morning makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney Springs so they're all done up for party night. The party will be our first time at MK on this trip.

Ideally, I'd like to buy the One-Day MM on our way into the party, as that will be the easiest opportunity to do so without going out of our way. Here are my questions:

- I read that buying the one-day package gets you all Photopass photos for the entire day, not just those taken at the party. So that will include BB Boutique, right?
- Does that still apply if I don't buy the package until we get to MK in the afternoon? ie. If I don't have the package when the photos are done in the morning, will buying the package in the afternoon unlock those morning photos, or do I have to have the package purchased already?
- If I have to have the MM package purchased before we go to BB Boutique, am I able to buy it a couple of days ahead of the party? Where am I able to purchase it?

I think that about covers it. We didn't want to spring for the full MM package, so if this works out, it'll allow us to get all our BB Boutique photos, plus the bonus of whatever we end up getting at the Xmas party.

PS. Is it still $39 like it was last year?

We attended our 1st party last night and I enjoyed it very much. I did not get to do many special party things since we had our 4 year old with us and my DH isn't a Disney person like I am. But we still had fun.

The park did not feel crowded to me at all, but I'm used to summer crowds. It was warm, I was in shorts and a tank top, and we had a few sprinkles around 5p.

We caught the Castle Lighting, fireworks and last parade. My mom, son and I got our spot next to the steamboat about 5 minutes before the parade started. We were not sitting and not front row, but there was an open spot where we could see quite well and get some pictures. My son fell asleep in the stroller as soon as we stopped moving, which made enjoying the parade a little easier ;)

He wanted to ride rides, so we did. We even managed Peter Pan and although posted wait time was 30 minutes, we were off the ride in 20. Most of the other rides we did were 10 minutes at most, usually less than 5. We did not do any of the Mountains or 7 Dwarfs during the party. My mom managed to snap a picture of the Dwarfs by themselves in between people! Took her 2 tries. The princesses/princes had a 60-75 minute wait the 2-3 times we walked by.

I loved the parade and the snow on Main Street was cool to see!
