I thought we'd agreed the cut off was Nov. 1st? The 9th works fine for me as well though. So whenever works best for everyone. Wow irfyr really worked on that list! EEEgads! We're deck 6 aft starboard though. If it would help I can highlight all of our cabins on a map of the Magic so everyone can just print it out for themselves.

Thanks for the update. I kind of figured I'd goof one or two when I transfered everything. Can I claim it's a redheaded thing? LOL 1rst or 9th works for a cutoff for me.

Latest Fish Extender numbers and updated list
24 cabins, 79 people (48 adults and 31 kids). I need 4 cabin numbers when they become available.
I could still use some feedback on keeping the list as is or splitting it and on Nov. 1 or 7 for a cut off date to join.

No problem. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise and 4th cruise overall. We love cruising but nothing will ever compare to Disney!! First time on the Magic. Other 2 Disney ones were on the Dream. You will have a blast.....providing no one gets seasick! LOL

this is our first time participating in fish extenders.... i have read different ways it is done. Can somebody explain how we will be doing it in this group? Do we just buy for one family? Do we give daily gifts? Is there a price limit or an amount we need to spend?

I think it comes down to personal preference. This will be the second Fish extender exchange I've participated in. The first one was on the Dream in 2012. For that one, some people gave a gift per cabin and some did a gift per person. No one did daily gifts. I am pretty sure budget was according to each individual's means.
But, as I said...this will only be the second time I've done an exchange. Maybe some of our longer time Disney Cruise veterans have a better answer???

I personally feel like we should give each cabin another cabin and then if some people also want to give gifts to every cabin that is fine as well but this way it is more organized and everyone who signed up will for sure get gifts. I would hate to sign up and spend money on other families and not get anything in return for my family due to being unorganized. Just my personal thoughts.

The way I always understood it, was that you exchanged with every cabin on the list, unless the group decided to split the list in two. I never heard of it being exchanging with only one cabin. I have been asking for quite some time if people wanted to split the list. As of now, only 2 cabins are in favor of splitting the list. If a decision is made to split the list, I will redo our list so that there is an even split and each cabin would exchange with the other people on their list.

Then again, this will only be the second time I have done a fish extender exchange, so if I have the logistics wrong, please let me know.

I would like to vote to cut it in half. I feel like I can't get others as good of gifts if we are buying for close to 100 people by the time it is all said and done. What type of gifts do people buy for that many people? Also did you go home the last time with that many gifts?

I am doing one small gift per cabin. We are only up to 24 cabins +/- I think that's manageable. At first I thought to separate and make gifts for boy/girl/teen/mom/dad plus family, and then favorite character and, and, and...but then quickly realized I am making something fun into a monumental chore. That's my opinion. I tend to go over the top, and have to reel myself in.

thats my issue so I realized i could do something and not go over the top

So on the issue of split or don't split the list (Please let me know if I have this goofed so I can fix it!!) I want to make sure I have everyone's opinions taken into account so we make the best decision for the whole group.

I have Jacq0423 and Maria Cabeza in favor of splitting
irfyr, TwilightThunder, Tresmama and LiamandFitzmom in favor of not splitting
Wendylady30 and Yaylem Mir who are Ok either way
And 16 cabins that we are waiting on opinions
