2015 Villain’s Sinister Soiree

So relieved that this isn't going to decrease the value of regular party ticket holders, and yet offers something to those who are willing to pay for reserved fireworks and parade seating. Seems win-win to me!

I'm guessing that since they say that after the parade guests will be escorted to the dessert party at Tomorrowland Terrace, that they're going to open the bypass just for these guests and take them through there with a CM leading the way. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes for y'all to move from one location to the other.

And note that the tables for the dessert party are assigned seating. Your table will be preassigned with those booking earlier getting tables closer to the front.

Not that those should plan on sitting during the fireworks/castle projection show either.

Yep. That's the new parade viewing area for the parades. So no seeing the Horseman come over the Liberty Sq bridge like we could from the reserved area last year. The very end of the parade. You can arrive at the parade area closer to parade start. I did last year for my two Soirees, but you may not have a front row seat. I was second row for one and first row for another.

"Starting Jan. 12, 2015, the FastPass+ viewing location for Magic Kingdom parades was relocated from the Central Plaza Viewing Area to the Town Square Viewing Area, near the flagpole, for both day-time and night-time parades."
It's STANDING reserved area from what I read on the dining website.

Yes, standing. Sorry, by front row seat I meant front row position. Although last year when I was in front row I did get to sit on the ground at the rope which was pretty cool. Didn't mean to cause any confusion. There are no chairs to sit on.

I did get to sit on the ground when I was in the front row last year right at the rope with was pretty cool and there is the curb at the flagpole viewing area which folk/kids can sit on. **

I have never done the dessert party and just signed up. Inwasnhoping for less pushing and shoving as I recently had shoulder surgery and probably having another surgery about a month before my trip (broken and dislocated). Luis the parade viewing standing and the fireworks sitting?

I agree 100% with this. I do not think it's fair that they took one of the main draws of the Halloween Party and put it behind a pay wall last year. I think it is a much better way to handle if someone wants an "exclusive" party upgrade.

Um....IDK what the current "refinements" have done to the "normal" Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert party.

It used to be (prior to the July upgrades), that you'd snag a table (no assigned seating EDIT:It's been pointed out that it's always been assigned seating, my mistake!!), eat your fill, and then move to the rail (standing) to watch the fireworks.

I'm not sure if, since the advent of the upgrades to assigned seating, better quality desserts, table cloth and lantern version, if that's still the case. I haven't seen (but haven't really looked) for reviews on the new version. I'll have to hunt some down, now.

Whatever the process is in the new dessert party, I expect to be the process for this one.

I know some of you are disappointed, but this works perfectly for our family. I was really concerned about doing the Soiree with a 4 year old since it would have started after the fireworks. The dessert party is a great way for us to get reserved seating for the parade and fireworks. I'm also thrilled that it looks like the villains will be available for everyone to meet. I hope it is an organized meet and greet like it was supposed to be last year at FTH with Aurora. maleficent is a must meet for us.
Where does this say you will have an organized Meet & Greet? I would have considered this party for that reason alone. But the Dessert Party in and of itself has assigned table where you sit to enjoy your desserts...however, you cannot see the fireworks from very many of the seat (only the front row) AND everyone gets up from their seats to STAND at the edge to actually SEE the fireworks. Our last dessert party we were one of the first to call in and get the reservation and we were in the first row of tables.....

The problem with this location is that its going to be very hard to get to the closer the time is to parade start. Remember, people line Main Street starting at 5pm on a party day, claiming their parade seating. If you are in the back of the park and try to make your way up to town square at 8:30, you are going to be a salmon swimming upstream through a sea of bears. The only option, really, around that time is to try to enter through the Tomorrowland side, cut through all of the stores, and then "sorry, excuse me" your way through the crowd in the square, and hope there are CM's to escort you through the street.
It states on the website description of this event that CMs will escort you from the parade viewing area to the dessert party. I'm still trying to figure out how you will be able to get from the parade viewing area at the end of the parade (9:10pm-ish) in time to enjoy the desserts and get seated in a timely fashion for HalloWishes. That's a lot of people to seat and in my previous experience it isn't all that organized? Dessert parties start at 7pm normally with a 9pm Wishes. You don't suppose they would reverse the direction of the parade and have it start where the parade viewing location is, do you? That would certainly help the CMs ability to usher people to the dessert party in a more timely fashion.

That would be worth it getting in the parade viewing area so you could be assured a front row position......enabling you to sit (unless the CMs made everyone stand for safety reasons).....especially if you had tired little ones!

I think the PP meant that there would be an organized M&G for the Villans in the general halloween party, not at the event.

I did not see any announcements on the Disney Blog- (apparently it showed up last year on Aug 25)- so maybe 1 more week?

Well, without any special characters at this Dessert Party, I'm out. We are just two people so it's easy for us to find parade/fireworks viewing spots without wasting a lot of party time. The value of the dessert party is just not there for us. But glad lots of others are happy with it and hope you have a great time!

I'm not sure if I am going to book this or not. IMO the Soiree was a much better deal. It was $99 pp but you got a lot more than this offer, and I didn't lose much party time. With the Soiree we got the reserved seating in front of the castle for the Parade, Fireworks and the Castle show. With the Soiree we went to the reserved area, watched the castle show watched the parade and then went off to do some other party things during the fireworks. We didn't stay to watch the fireworks. We then still had the late Soiree to look forward to with all of the villains and desserts and an empty park when it was over. It just seems like the additional $70 doesn't get you much more than anyone else that just has the MNSSHP ticket and if you go to the reserved area at 7:30 then head over to the Terrace and watch fireworks it is suddenly 10:30. With the Soiree I didn't pay $99 for the Parade and Fireworks or Desserts, I paid for the castle experience with all of the characters, and that is what is missing from this deal. There is nothing "special" that I cant get with a regular MNSSHP ticket or dessert party on a non party night.

I

The meet and greet is not a part of the dessert party. What I meant was since the villains will not be exclusive to the dessert party like they were to the soiree last year, I am hoping they will do the meet and greet they had scheduled last year before they announced the soiree. Which was Aurora and Maleficent meeting together at Fairytale Hall with Snow White and the Evil Queen. Available to all MNSSHP attendees.

1) I think the OP meant there would be organized meet and greet opportunities other places in the park.

2) I'd bet dollars to donuts they use the Main Street bypass to get people out to Tomorrowland Terrace in super quick fashion. Take like 3 or 4 min via that route.

While this is true (I didn't attend last year so I can't compare it to the Soiree), I think you're really paying for the HalloWishes Dessert Party (a regular Wishes Dessert Party would run you $49/Adult on any given night) and you're paying for a reserved spot to watch the parade (basically you're paying $20/Adult for a fast-pass to the parade). I don't think it's a horrible deal considering the dessert party alone would cost you $49 on any given night, and because it's an event-within-an-event, I expected a small up-charge to the price of the basic dessert party. So, say a $10/person up-charge on the basic dessert party (since less people have access to this one in theory since it's on a party night) and $10/person for the parade viewing spot. On top of that, everyone who paid to get into the party doesn't get one of the main draws taken away (the villains), like last year. I know some will disagree, but I think this was the right move by Disney since they apparently got a lot of complaints that villains would be meet-able at the party and then they stuck them behind a pay-wall.
