EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

I don't think that you're making a mistake! The view from the lounge will not be affected at all and that is what we love most about our CL stays at Poly! We are doing GV there in July and are slightly nervous about the construction, but we also know that all of the positives are outweighing those concerns. We can't wait to be back!!!

That is one of the things we are most looking forward to!

I think you can have a great time staying there. I could!

I should say, for us, the view from our room isn't all that important. I'm happy at the lounges with no view, but of all views, we most appreciate lounge views. The view from the Poly lounge is excellent!

if there was any downside, IMO to the Poly Garden view, it was the combination of too much (in room) brown decor/no sunlight. We like BC/YC/BWK/CR standard view better - because our rooms there were brighter.

I can see how some would not like that. But if we are in our room it would probably be to take a nap in all honesty so the darkness doesn't bother us. I also have heard that the darkness of the décor in general is not liked by many, but for us it just seems cozy and comfortable. :)

Actually here's a better view, this shows the depth of distance from Hawaii to the pool area:

Thank you for posting this pic! I am hoping that most of the construction is in fact just in the pool area when we arrive as this picture does indeed show how far back it sets.

Given the view from the Poly lounge..and the distance of the quiet pool from the CL GV rooms..I definitely would not let this deter me from staying GV CL at all..We stayed CL there just this past winter..when the resort was in full construction mode and thoroughly enjoyed our stay....The only issue we encountered was the closing of some of the walk ways...but even that was not such a big deal.. I am betting that you will have wonderful stay! :wizard: [\quote]

Thanks! So good to hear some positive reviews for a change

Since a Theme Park View Club Level room is a bookable category, your only request would be a room with a king bed.
Are there ways to help that request along? Such as booking early or checking in early? Thanks for the help!

Turndown service mousekeepers won't come inside your room if there's a "do not disturb" sign on the door or if you're in the room. We seem to always be in our room when they come because it's during evening apps. Often we tell them to please come back after 6:00 PM to turndown the room and sometimes they don't. I don't know if they forget or if they just don't want to bother. LOL ;)
Since we are almost always in the room at this time to get ready for appies, or dd is taking a nap(her mom sure wears her out:rotfl:) I have come up with a new strategy.

I listen for them coming down the hall! I open the door, hand them a dollar or two and they hand me a HANDFUL of chocolate :thumbsup2

I have even left the door propped open so I don't wake dd by constantly opening to check::yes::

Our hospitality suite stay at cr we got the same man every day, he seemed to enjoy this set up he would try to give me HANDFULS, not just one:rotfl2:

Thanks for the reminder Erika! So many things to remember at Disney. I'll try not to forget my chocolates in August.

I would email IPO with a king bed request right after you book. I would also call CRO and add that to your reservation.

I always beleive the earlier arrival the better if possible.

This is how I feel too. We stayed at Poly 2x during the bungalow construction with a TPV (one trip they downgraded our payment to a LV cause we were on the 1st floor) and we didn't mind the construction at all. We actually found it interesting and exciting to watch it happen! We weren't bothered by any construction walls in the main building either -- we still felt the Poly magic just cause we were there :cloud9:. The only time I wouldn't have considered staying there was during the closure of the main pool because we thoroughly enjoy pool time there due to how close the pool is to the Hawaii building. It's so convenient and fun to grab our drinks and snacks right from the lounge whenever we want anything at the pool.

I'm so glad that I caught up on this thread this morning.

After reading so many negatives about the look of the resort, the construction and the pool hopping, I really was, once again, starting to second guess our upcoming Poly GV CL stay in August. Seeing Erika's picture though (thanks Erika for posting!) and seeing the distance between the Hawaii bldg and the quiet pool really does help. I also keep thinking that it will be nice to have the CL lounge as a secondary spot to hang out and hearing that views from there aren't spoiled, makes me feel better about not switching.

We'll have a lot going on during this upcoming trip and between taking our youngest DD on a college tour at UCF (her first choice at the moment) and having her senior pictures taken at the Poly & GF, I think I just need worry less about the construction and focus more on just enjoying our time together. My oldest will be graduating college next year and with the little one going away who knows how many more trips there'll be that we'll all be together :sad1:.

We've done similar, but if security sees your door propped- you'll get a visit from them as well. I'm pretty sure propping our door actually caused security to send a CM. We stopped doing it; the new Magic bands have eliminated our reason to prop. (bringing multiple drinks to the room)

Last summer, we saved our check-in chocolates to bring home. Our bad. Cute Disney pops were turned to blobs!

We love the chocolates/candies, but kind of wonder at the concept of putting caffeine and sugar on one's pillow. ...while 6pm is well before my bedtime (Esp at WDW), the concept of turndown is to have them right before going to bed, right? Note: some WDW resorts give out salt water taffy.
Kind of a funny tradition, IMO.

One funny time....a family member brought a BIG old suitcase to WDW. Going to FL as checked luggage finished it off. One of the wheels fell off! the first humilation was getting it out of the airport (pre-ME).

So we bought new luggage and put the broken one out in the hallway. We were goiing to dispose of it on our way out.

We were staying Club level at the Grand Floridian!

Moments later, security knocked on our door to ask if the bag was ours!

It was in really sad shape.

We paused a moment, and had a good belly laugh, because it was REALLY tempting to deny that the bag was really ours.

Having to admit it was ours, at GF, was pretty horrifying. When we thoroughly assured secruity it was really really trash, the gentleman kindly offered to dispose of it.

Hi all!

I would like to add my name to the Wilderness Lodge CL calendar... Oct.27th-Nov.3rd. This will be my first CL stay (2nd time at WL), so I'll be studying this thread like crazy until I leave, haha

i kept saying I WOULD NOT take my mom to poly !!! I took mom and dad in 2011 to CSR and dad agreed I could take mom on a trip, just us girls last fall.

Well, I got a great rate for poly CL for November during construction. I thought about it..... Really the lounge and views make up for anything else. Besides, we are up early and construction is usually 7-5p. So that wasn't going to bother us.

Mom loved it!! We had a great time. The only downside was the extra walk to /from the boat and TTC. However she is still talking about the nice rooms, the great food, access to lounge and monorail!!

I have been to almost all the resorts during construction because I book less than 6months and those are usually all that is left. I have never regretted any construction stay.

I'm sad to say I had to change my gf stay because my son starts school as a freshman at college the days I was going to go. My trip with dd20 is now 8/23-27. I was hoping to meet you but maybe next time.

Only a couple days left til I choose our fastpasses!!! :) The kids have 3 days of school left and then it's SUMMER!!! :beach:

I am soooooo ready for this trip I can't even tell you guys. :flower1:

The 60 days goes fast, too! It feels like we just selected ours, and now we are 8 days away. I am really looking forward to the CR and the BC. We're going to spend 5/30 (our first day) at the CR pool in a cabana. I'll make sure to post pictures and a review here when I get back. I so need this trip!

You are going to love WL CL. The lodge itself is great (as you already know from having stayed there), but CL is amazing :wizard:.

I'm very excited! I had such a great experience with the staff and enjoyed the resort so much I couldn't stay away :)

Do most CL guests go through the concierge for dining reservations, or is it easier to do it yourself?

Oh boy, that's close to Christmas decoration time!!! :D

Another silly question for a first time CL stay...what tip do you leave for turndown service? For normal mouse keeping we leave $5 for the 2 of us (I round up from the standard $2 per person). Is it the same for turndown?

I am at 50 days and can't wait to be back at the BC! It was so great the first of this month.

I usually leave a bit less than I do in the morning. It isn't a full room clean.. It's just turning down and closing the drapes and maybe freshening towels

24 days to go! So I spent time watching the Live Web Cams at both Disneyworld and Disneyland!

I need a Disney fix. AND I haven't told dh and dd about our CL stay! :cloud9: I ordered a special cake:cake: to be delivered on our arrival day, and I got a FP for WISHES on arrival day! Again, haven't told! Its been hard keeping a secret! DH was a bit concerned that I hadn't made too many dinner adr's for this part of our stay, I thought I'd wait and see how things go, with it being especially HOT, I'm not sure if we're going to be hungry! I have California Grill one night, we do enjoy sushi, so that will work - but other than that.... :rolleyes1

I figure we can get a last minute (and by that I mean a day or two before!) adr to Artist Point, but I'm rethinking Whispering Canyon after reading current reviews! Honestly I should just stay off disboards!
