Does anyone know if the 3rd fl BC room refurbs are done yet staying at BC 4/15-4/22

:welcome: to this thread and posting on the DIS.

I will add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cool1:

I have not heard that the work on the 3rd floor is complete. Some rooms have been done and are being used, but I am not sure how close they are to finishing on that floor.

The very first section in this thread has refurbishment news. We update this post as soon as we get any confirmed information about the progress of the work.

:)

I don't know how you do it!! Just a small change, I will not be in the villas, but rather enjoying a brand spanking new BC room :) Or at least I hope they are done renovating by November!

Will do!

:goodvibes:

We have finally locked in our split stay dates and we will be staying at the BC-lagoon view, June 3-6. Woohoo!

I'll update the list.

:woohoo:

You are completely awesome for keeping this thread consistently updated. Thank you for all that you do!! :goodvibes

Awww...thanks!!!

Hi all!
I think I read that the washers & dryers at BC were credit card operated. Do you have to put in a zip code? We are Canadian & have trouble at gas pumps (we always have to go inside to pay as our zip code is a letter-number combo).

TIA!

Great question!!! I doubt it, but someone should be able to provide an answer before your trip.

:thumbsup2

We r booked from july 11-18 at YC. cant wait. Its my DH first time staying on property with my DS and I. Cant wakt. Hope its as magical as it seems.

If you are booked CL, does the CL staff automatically contact you or should I just touch base with them? I've already made my ADRs. I just remember the last time we stayed CL, they sent us a form that we filled out with some info like what time we would be arriving, etc.

Yes, IPO (Itinerary Planning Office) should be contacting you, but if they don't you can email them if you want to. The email address is listed in the Club Level post (Post 12?) on Page 1 of this thread.

::yes::

Yes, you should receive an email from Yacht and Beach Club Internary Planning Office with the form to be completed. We received ours a little before the 180 day mark but just completed and returned a couple of weeks ago.

I've had it both ways.
When I didn't receive one I would email them at Yacht.Beach.Club.Itinerary.Planning@disneyworld.com to let them know/confirm my dates.

Staying at BC JUne 7-14! Hoping for a refurb room! Excited and ready for this resort. I would think they would at least be finished with the 3rd floor by then.

I made our fast passes this morning and made sure to leave plenty of time to enjoy SAB....well, I hope it's enough time for SAB since we get such a late start at the parks due to teen/pre-teen daughters that sleep forever! Isn't it a great feeling when everything is set! I can't wait to try one of those Sunken Treasures!! Is the Grey Goose Slushie/Slushy? the one I've seen in France so many times but never tried? I hope to see some of you down there May 30- June 6 BC CL (I'm already on the list!)!!

I am three days home from 8 nights at the Beach Club. And I just keep lurking on the board so my memories of a great vacation don' t fade too quickly. But here are some of my impressions and thoughts about the BC.

1. We stayed in room 4669. Water View of the lake. Romeo and Juliet balcony. Day bed. Overlooked the courtyard of the main entrance of the lake side of the resort. Room was newly remodeled. The forth floor smelled of new carpet :). Room 4669 was great for us. A very quiet spot.

2. We ate at Beaches and Cream our first day. We ate later in the week at Cape May for dinner. Both meals were great. I don't know about the desserts at Cape May.....my dessert was more shrimp and crab! We also at food from the Marketplace on our night of arrival. We checked in around 8:30 PM had food by 9PM and sitting on the beach eating pizza and sandwiches.

3. SAB was fantastic! Clean, fun, plenty of chairs and not a problem of chair savers. My kids did the water slide in the neighborhood of 1000 times. I did it a dozen. We all made around 12 miles of floating on the lazy river.

4. Walking to EPCOT is obviously great! We took the boat to HS. And the bus transport to MK, DD and AK was great. We never waited more than 10-15 minutes. However, most of our waits were less than 10 minutes. The return service was just as good.

5. I personally loved the relaxed atmosphere of BC/YC. Plenty of quiet spots to hang out after a busy day at the parks.

6. We walked to the BW area many times. Ate pastries from the bakery for breakfast a couple mornings. Ate at Trattoria al Forno which was one of our favorites of the trip. And of course the street entertainment of the BW is fun as well.

7. The staff at the BC from the front desk, to bell services, to mousekeeping all were great. Only complaint my kids would give is that we didn't get any towel animals etc.... But the room was clean and with a party of 5 (4 ladies) we always had plenty of towels!!!

Any questions?? I would be glad to answer if I can.

I think you are correct about the 3rd floor- keep your tv set adjusted to this station for news!

Thanks for the review! It sounds like you had a fabulous time! It looks like you would recommend Trattoria al Forno? Did you just walk up or did you make advanced reservations? Also, did you hear/ see any construction going on and did it bother you? Thanks again!

Trattoria al Forno was great! I had the chicken parm and it was fantastic!! The rest of the family enjoyed it as well. We did have ADRs and it was busy the night we were there. We will certainly return when we are back in the area!!

As for construction, we did see a few workers but on the fourth floor we were not bothered at all. During the day a few men were hanging some pictures in the hallways but that is about all we ever saw or even heard. They even removed the scaffold from the roof of the main building while we were there and never heard a thing. One morning one of my girls said....hey look the scaffolding is gone.

Hi all! Dee, I'm so sorry to add another change to the BOG list but our plans have changed. Our trip dates have changed and we've scaled down the cost of our trip. I dislike when reality gets in the way of my Disney trips! Anyway, we will be in the world July 15-24 and at BC July 15-17. We'll be at POR for the remaining days. Miraculously, BC had an opening for the first two days of our trip (and coincidently POR was unavailable those dates)! Yay! I'm thrilled to be staying at the BC again this year!

Sorrel, so happy for you! My sister and I stayed at the YC one time and we are definitely going back; we loved it. Have a great, great time!

There are certainly quiet places at BC. I also appreciate a little down time while at Disney. My favorite quiet time is an early morning stroll around Crescent Lake. So peaceful. In the afternoon, quiet places include the Solarium between the BCV and BC just down the hall from the Marketplace. Also, the quiet pools at both BC and YC are truly quiet. Little more activity at BC quiet pool with people coming through, but I still find this area quiet. Also, the beach area is a terrific peaceful place especially if you can grab a swing or a bench.

I agree. As crazy as the BC lobby and areas can be with lots of kids, there is just something so peaceful about the Crescent Lake area, especially when the sun is starting to set. The temps have reduced, and the sand feels nice and cool between your toes. It's very peaceful. In fact, Pete Werner (founded the Dis) states that this is the area where the website, travel agency and forums were first thought of. He said he was with a few friends (I believe John Magi was there, too), and they talked for hours right at the beach area, and the Dis, WDW Info, and Dreams Unlimited were born.

There are also other areas near YC. I happen to like the little crescent -shaped area in the front of the YC, near the edge of SAB, where the rocking chairs are. I spent many a relaxing moment there, too. And the quiet pool at YC is nice, too. You shoudn't have any trouble decompressing...famous last words... :)
