My Un-magical FP+ Experience...

Let's see....

Got FP for 9:20, 10:20 & 11:20. Rides we wanted. Do other stuff in between.

Head back to resort. Enjoy the pool.

Park Hop to another park for the evening. Do whatever. Enjoy it.

Do same thing next day. Enjoy it.

Yup, I must be doing something wrong.

I can do the same thing as you when at the parks, but it in no way is the same as it was 5 years ago. I was able to accomplish so much more from rope drop until 2 and ride some of the headliners multiple times.

I know right! He was pretty devastated as you can clearly see:

Looks like he hates FP!!

I do understand that "newbies" might like the "new/improved"(??) FP+ system..since we know: you dont miss what you never had!

While, I haven't been as many times as you, I would hardly call myself a "newbie". We had many trips using the old fastpass system. We've had two with the new system. I take offense at your implication that if I like the new system, it's because I don't know any better.

I see that the snarky (yes snarky) replies started on page one. Those don't help anyone! If FP+ ruined the OP's vacation then FP+ ruined the OP's vacation. It's not up to me or anyone else to decide whether the OP had a good trip or not.

Some people go on about magic but reacting that way is definitely unmagical.

And 10,000 more to replace them. Disney corp couldn't care less…there are billions on the planet and more coming into the USA everyday. I agree with how people are upset with change..many things they do and are going to do upset me..but somehow I manage to enjoy my time there immensely. When I no longer do I will stop going..Thats all we can do in this system we live in..withhold our $$$. In WDWs case they will keep making profits hand over fist..change is inevitable and all things impermanent…I wish WDW was like it was in 1982…It never will be again.

This sounds like the old too big to fail philosophy. I seem to remember General Motors and a few other corporations thinking the same thing. What happened? If Disney keeps downgrading their product and handing people less and charging more and more what do you think will happen?

Then the post does not apply to you OP clearly stated you can't miss what you never had ie: never used the legacy FP There was no implying anything.

Except that WDW isn't GM.. competition from Honda, Audi, VW etc..isnt going to replace the one and only 30,000 acres at WDW.

Oh come on..her opinion, expression and attitude is justified from her point of view. As is yours. As is mine. 43 years…and suddenly it is all ruined because of FP?…Pa leeeze...
You have the right to your opinions. However, you don't have to be rude.

:confused3 The poster you quoted has used legacy FP (as has, from implication at least, the OP). So the original post does to Miskey; it exempts new visitors. Miskey isn't new, she/he simply hasnt been 43 times - but has used both versions of FastPass. She/he likes FP+ is all.

I wish I got to go to WDW every year for 43 years. You would think by now you would figure out whens the best time to go.
Funny I just came back and was there last October too. FP+ was a non issue. Never needed them. And when I did it was great to show up and walk on whatever. I did everything I wanted. Some people just love to gripe and turn the energy negative. Another family could have been there when you were and gone home happy as clams. Wonder why? 43 years huh? Maybe its time to take a break from the place you hate? No?

Snarky? I'll have to look that up. Come on she goes to WDW for 43 years and now she hates it? Because why? FP? Surely there is more to 30,000 acres and a strategy to do what one loves after 43 visits…All that bold red..thats so snarky..
You are either a FP hater on these threads or a fan…or indifferent. Or snarky. My personal experience just doesn't see all the hate of this new system that is here to stay. My guess is she will be back.
Snark.
Where did the OP say that hated the place? You know, it is possible for one to HATE what the idiots in charge at Disney are doing to a place that the really LOVE. As for FP+, it seems that half of the people like it and the other half hate it. When a business introduces a product that a large percentage of it's customers can't stand, it's typically not a very wise decision...especially when said product doesn't draw any new customers.

You have the right to your opinions. However, you don't have to be rude.
I found her bold red intense dislike after 43 years a tad spoiled and entitled…and like her I expressed my opinion. Sorry if it came off that way. Really I am.
I still love WDW. hate ,many of the changes…but would never let that ruin my fun days there. There is soooo much more to WDW than the stupid techno changes that are pervasive throughout our modern society. I don't stop using the telephone because there are no more humans answering your calls anymore. It is the culture we now live in. Change. Embrace it. You have no choice except to withhold your $$$. After 43 years going I find it hard to imagine she will never go back.

Not quite correct. There are other theme parks in the area. You can argue about the value and quality of these Parks. But you also have the choice of Universal, Sea World. If you really wanted too you can drive to Tampa and go to Busch Gardens. And quite frankly I think Disney needs the competition otherwise they can get really set in their ways.

Or you can just go to the beach.

So there are other options.

What is it with the rudeness? It's certainly possible to state an opinion without cutting down someone else. I don't get it.

Excuse me, I was speaking to the OP. Please don't try to tell me that I am wrong in the way I felt about the OP's post. Thank you

I recommend St Augustine too. We gave up part of a week at WDW to stay there and none of us regretted it. :)

45,000+ posts and you still don't get that since the implementation of FP+ this is arguably the rudest message board on the net?

I agree with OP!!! In fact, we dropped our upcoming Disney spring break vacation after our trip to WDW this summer. FP+ is simply not for my family. We decided, as a family, to ditch WDW and we are going to Universal instead. When the kids were in favor of not going, I knew it was the right choice! Universal's Express Pass is far superior to this new FP+ system. I don't know what I want to ride at 60 days out, and I am simply not willing to do that anymore. If the system works for you, that's great, but it does not mean those of us who it does not work for are wrong.

It's a terrible feeling to spend all that money and time and effort and then have a miserable time. Sorry OP, wish it had worked better for you.

In regards to the OP being harassed or getting sarcastic comments- It happens on both sides of the fence. Someone posts a negative report and someone who doesn't have problems with FP+ posts something- Someone posts a positive report and you get the exact opposite. Not every time, but a lot of times--on both sides of the issue.

So predicting that this will happen is not rocket science. It just gives people the opportunity to laugh and make fun of the ones who do come in and do it. If that's what entertains you, have at it.
