**Official Frozen Sing-Along, Oaken's, Holiday Premium Package Tips, updated 1/5/15

Does anyone have "first hand" information if Characterpalooza is still taking place? This will help me determine my fastpasses for our August 21-24 trip.

Question for those that have been through the event...

Royal Welcome is 11:00 am. What is the length of this event? What I am trying to figure out is, if we get tickets for the 12:30 sing along, will we be able to squeeze lunch in between Royal Welcome and 12:30 Sing Along return time? As Premium Package holders, we won't have to return to Sing Along theater until like 12:10 I gather?

Reason being we have a 5:15 at Prime Time, and so need to get lunch in early-ish. I would do a big breakfast and just skip lunch, but we will be moving from OKW to AoA that morning before checking in for Frozen Premium Package, and so sitting down to a big breakfast is not gonna happen.

Does anyone know if you can see the frozen fireworks from this resort (assuming you do not have a view from your room) or anywhere in the boardwalk area?

We have booked the Frozen package for August 31!

I can't decide if we should keep or cancel our Mama Melrose/Fantasmic reservations. Our supper is at 6:30 and the fireworks will be at 9:15 by then. I just can't see us hanging out at the desert party for a long time with a three year old *but who knows* after a long day. Can you just grab deserts and go?

The plan is to go in the morning for the welcome and singalong and then head back to the hotel for a nap/rest in the afternoon and back to the park for the evening.

We are there for 8 days so if we don't see Fantasmic that night we may see it another, but at the same time I don't think our little guy would necessarily last through the entire show anyway so part of me thinks we should just see some of it while we are there anyway.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Who the heck will be bringing their own ice skates?????
What are chances locals even have any????
What are the chances those flying will give up suitcase space and weight for them?????

Who will be wiling to schlepp them all day at DHS ????

:wave2:

1. That'd be me. There was also a hockey skater who brought hers. We were on the very first sessions. Other possibilities include figure skaters and learn to skate students who want to be able to say they skated at Disney.
2. You realize there can be ice anywhere with the amazing concept of refrigeration technology right? There is a good sized rink in Orlando which actually hosts a fairly large figure skating competition (Florida Open) each year. So, pretty good.
3. A lot of places give 2 free checked bags. I drove this time, but I have flown with skates before. I have also mailed them to my destination to avoid the risk of luggage loss when flying. I know lots of people who have done all of these things.
4. People who want to skate at Disney. You just bring a backpack/get a locker. It's that simple.

:confused3

OK another question... for Premium Package holders, what is the return window for selected show time for Sing Along?

We have a reservation for a party of 8 at 5:15 at 50's PT. Trying to figure out if we select 7:00 PM Sing Along if we will make it in time for return window?

No Characterpalooza as the queue for the Sing-Along sets up in one of the Streets of America.

We have the same dilemma. I bought the Frozen Premium package and I am probably going to cancel our Fantasmic dinner package at HBD at 5:30 on 8/25 and skip the 8:30 Fantasmic show. My 9 year old twin daughters adore Frozen and this is a one time event (well, hopefully not!) We figure we could catch the 10pm Fantasmic if everyone is up for it. It was a hard choice, but I figure you can't do everything at Disney on every trip. I really would like to see Fantasmic, but I know my daughters will never forget this Frozen experience. Plus, the dessert party looks really great!

I asked Kenny this on FB and he said Characterpoolza was not going away during Frozen. Hmmm?!?

I didn't see his comment and the queue takes up San Francisco street - the main area where Palooza occurs. I'll check and see if my DD has any further info...

Thanks!! I asked him if it was disappearing? "No" someone else asked if it was relocating and he replied "No. It was for one week." I have no idea if his responses were based on first hand experience or not because he did not elaborate. I am really crossing my fingers as this is my boys favorite and they might feel a little bitter if their "sister's favorite stuff" pushed out theirs. ; )

For anyone who has a package for Aug or later in July- have they charged your credit card yet? I purchased ours last week and gave my card info but it hasn't shown up on my account yet:confused3 I have the reservation in MDE so I know the reservation was made. I'm just a little nervous since it's a prepaid event and they haven't charged me yet. It's crazy that I'm going to have to call Disney and beg them to take my money so I know we have our reservation!:rotfl:

I was charged right away, and we booked for August 25th, it also showed up in mydisneyexperience too.

Last week characterpalooza was on echo lake because lights motors action was letting out right about 6:00. I don't see why it couldn't be there with frozen going on.

We'll be there the day before you. :) I too had a 5:30pm Brown Derby F! ressie, but I cancelled it. I figure we can go to the later F! show. While my kids are older, we want to pig out at the dessert party, so just going to find a quick service and eat when we are hungry. With the snacks you get at the parade, and the heat, we are not big eaters at any one time anyway. We're going to go back to the hotel to swim and relax in the afternoon too, as MK has late magic hours, and we may be up for that, even if it's only a few hours. That's the last day of our tickets, so we might as well go out with long night.

All of this!

We are taking the Auto-Train so I will have my car with me. I have a minivan, so the skates are not taking up that much space/weight. I can bring the kids' skates in to the park and, after they skate, I can either locker them or put them back in my car.

My kids really want to say they skated at Disney, but I know they won't wear rentals. We will try to time it so I am not carrying their skates any longer than necessary.

I understand we may be in the minority because we are a skating family. But there are enough of us out there who are used to schlepping skates to all sorts of locations. :)

I was one of the people who asked on facebook and he said no. I would think he would have firsthand experience since he's been in DHS for the weekend, at least on the 5th. Although I am not sure if he left before it happened in the early evening.

I guess it's no different than my husband insisting on taking his own golf clubs on a cruise to Europe several years ago. :rotfl: I argued with him about it for days. It just seemed so silly to me since you can rent them. They ended up getting lost on our flight there, and didn't make it to the ship before we sailed. The clubs finally caught up with us when the cruise was almost over.
