updated 5/7/14
before i finish my update from january, i wanted to post some DISmeet pictures from this past weekend.
emme & i made a quick trip down to disney last weekend. we met up with barb (jabead), brenda (emmysmommy) & dh michael & beth (couchy). it was so nice to spend some time with these ladies & gentleman as my dinner in december with them was so fleeting.
up first, breakfast at captain's grill at YC:
afterwards, despite the rain, we donned our ponchos & headed over to DHS to meet beth. we had a super fun time and rode TOT, TSM, the muppets & star tours!
i really enjoyed my time with the DISladies and so did emme! i look forward to seeing them again in the not so distant future.

our last & final meal of emme's january birthday trip was at pizza planet in DHS. i really like this place...especially for a kids meal. for $5.99, you get a heck of a lot of food for a kid & the pizza is always fresh & tasty. at most TS, the pizza is twice the price and all you get is a pizza with maybe a drink. but here and almost all QS places, the kids meal are a total bargain.
but before we made our way for our final meal, emme wanted to get her face painted.
and then we said hello to some friends:
green army man brushing his hair with punzel's brush...ha ha!
after some more fun, we headed to pizza planet.
for lunch, emme chose:
she wanted a cheese pizza to which she added about 4 packets of parmesean cheese. instead of the cookie, we got a yogurt. you can't order the yogurt when placing your order but when your meal is given to you, you can ask to switch something for the yogurt.
the dough is a little thick but emme really enjoyed the pizza. for $5.99, this is a ton of food for a 4 year old. she didn't finish the carrots so i tucked it away in my back pack for her to have as a snack later.
this is our go to meal for her at DHS. it's a winner, every time. there's nothing gourmet about it but it satisfies her and the meal makes my wallet happy.
for my lunch, i chose:
Antipasto Salad - - tossed to order. Salami, pepperoni, Kalamata olives, mozzarella, tomatoes, chopped Romaine, and Italian vinaigrette $7.99
another view of the salad:
i noticed as we were waiting for our lunch, that each salad is made to order. so therefore, no soggy lettuce! this was a pretty huge salad filled with lots of cured meat. i wish i asked for the salad to be lightly dressed. there was a little too much dressing on it but i was really pleased with the meat to lettuce ratio. the romaine lettuce was nice & crisp and super fresh.
i also had to have a beer with my lunch. emme had her mickey milk and i had a beer.
as i was eating my salad, i realized that i was eating around the salami & pepperoni. it was just too much meat. i wish i had a slab of bread to make me a sammich so that i could finish the entire thing.
see...i need a piece of bread to make me a nice sammich.
and emme was still enjoying her lunch.
i was pleasantly surprised with my salad & thought it was really well priced. emme loved her lunch and with our belly's full & happy, we did a little more exploring and then made our way home.
i was sad that out trip was over but excited that we would be seeing our good DISfriend rachel in march for 9 days & 8 nights of disney fun.
up next,
HELLO AKL JAMBO HOUSE!!
