I didn't go through every thread...but can anyone tell me if they were charged for tix increase if booked before price increase after adding fd?

I guess that particular adr is tough to get but there are many great resteraunts to choose from. Really not interested in try to get one there. Menu looks ok but my 15 year old son would rather go to the trails end Buffett for ribs instead.

Yeah, hoping to eat there for lunch one day.

I was going to stay away, but I'm back... lol

My TA couldn't get through on the phones. She said she'd keep trying but I sort of doubt she'll be able to adjust my booking or change it entirely. Because of that, I went on Disney's site this afternoon and got a free dining room at Wilderness Lodge. No monetary savings--staying at nearly the same price I was going to pay--but a Magic Kingdom deluxe resort is nice.

So I guess all I need to do is transfer the new booking to my TA so she can add my dining from my POR reservation (no free dining) and then cancel the old booking. Assuming she can do that. I don't want to lose my ADRs and will stay where I am if I would lose them.

Just wanted to pop over and say Congrats to everyone that got there FD today! We decided to stay at AoA and do the RO offer because the kids and my dh and me are all really excited to stay there! We will be in a Cars suite which was the kids #1 choice :cool1: I have been following this board for a while and was very disappointed at first when AoA was excluded from FD but like many of you have said Atleast We Are Going To Disney :cheer2: I really appreciate all the wonderful info that has been shared here and how nice everyone is even when the millionth person askes about adding FD to an existing reservation :lmao: But really Thank you!!

I'd like to add my thanks too. Because of this board, we found all the information we needed and we were able to book a great vacation for our 30th anniversary - and saved a lot with FD. :thumbsup2

To book FD your are actually booking a new reservation and anything paid on your former reservation is transferred to the new reservation. With that said, you must pay the new prices.

I booked online this morning at 5:15 or so, and got Coronado Springs because Port Orleans Riverside, the one I really wanted, wasn't available other than the Royal Rooms (and we didn't want those). I figured, something was MUCH better than nothing, and I do like Coronado Springs but we really wanted Port Orleans Riverside this year as we haven't been since the renovation (last time we were there was 1994 or something!). So....I went to the FD offer online just now and looked and lo and behold there were standard rooms at Port Orleans Riverside available! Needless to say, I booked one right away! When the phones finally settle down(they are not working right now; I've tried calling twice), I will call and cancel the Coronado Springs reservation. Gotta make sure they keep all my dining reservations, though. I worked hard for those the last month!

So, anyway, long story short, they've released more rooms! Oh and for those who asked earlier, my confirmation email I got this morning for CSR did show the free dining but that was before the system went nuts. The email confirmation I got for POR just shows the dining plan, but doesn't say free or mention the fall offer like the other one does. However, online under my reservations it does show that the dining is free (and of course even in the confirmation email the price reflects free dining even though it doesn't say it).
Wow! Congrats! Right place, right time!

Well , after 2 hour with hold times and discussions with a great CM..

Heres the result,

Had to do a split stay.

Got nothing but rack rate for 2 nights :( no dining nor RO)
Then 6 nights with deluxe dining.... For about the same I was paying for all 8 nights of regular dining, (same resort)

I am so tired I cannot tell if this actually is a good deal?

We do alot of signature and character dining so I guess it will help there.
Congrats! Sounds like a super deal!

DONE!! :cheer2:

After 2.5hrs on the phone. I switched from POFQ to POP. That way the kids can roam around and eat QS and I'll just pay for what me and my dad want to eat.

Saved 600$ just off the reservation price plus the value of free QS. SWEET. :)
Woohoo!!

Have fun at Disney; those Cars suites look awesome!
I only got through a couple pages, but I am exhausted. Haven't slept much lately and was up by 3AM today. Our total savings for 3 rooms was $4776.97 our share of that savings was $1520.92!!!! Yay!!! I would like to again say my TA was fabulous through this whole experience.

Congrats to all who got it and best of luck to everyone who is still trying! And thanks again to all the wonderful people on this thread!!!! I am off to bed!!!!
Nite Nite! Get some rest! Now that you finally can.:cloud9:

My TA said this was the worst promo he's ever seen. He had 25 people calling and they were all on hold for 3-4 hours, and when they got through they had little to no availability at all of the resorts. So, no FD for me at the CR.
So sorry! My TA said the same thing, especially for families of 5 or more.:worried:

So, was everybody able to get what they wanted? Did everyone get the adrs they wanted?

Yep! We got Pop for Thanksgiving week and are keeping the QS plan. I made ADR's at the 180 day mark in case I had to switch to this week. We're doing 3 sit downs out of pocket- 'Ohana, Be Our Guest, and 50's Prime Time (our Thanksgiving meal).:goodvibes

Let this be a lesson to Disney about not giving DV cardholders an advanced booking window. LOL, J/K. They definitely need to figure out a better way to do this though. Hopefully their solution isn't to just nix the whole offer next year.

AHHHHH, We messed up the system so bad, when I try to go to the online booking page for Magical Express it just goes to Disney's Main Page! It was working yesterday.

They just modify your current reservation they don't cancel & rebook.

Sounds wonderful! Think of all the lovely appetizers and desserts you'll be getting!

Congratulations on your 30th Anniversary!!!! What a magical place to celebrate!

So your saying you don't pay the new price either?

Yes....they just charge you the difference. Any modifications to your original reservation (if made prior to the increase) gets the price increase.

I second that! My parents celebrated their 25th anniversary at Walt Disney World (when I was 20 and my brother 16) and they took us with them. Stayed at the Grand Floridian. Such a magical place to celebrate.

Will the phones be better tomorrow? I need to cancel my RO. I am double booked now, and MDE shows both ressies. They won't randomly cancel out one will they??? I think they used to do that with dining ressies if you made 2 at the same time...now they won't let u make 2 at the same time.

Original booking or since most recent modifiction?

If the reservation number hasn't changed, it would be from the original booking date. You can book a new FD package though with a TA and cancel the original package without penalty as long as you're not within your 45 days to arrival window (or if you bought insurance with the original booking, that can complicate things).

No they won't cancel one. I had three reservations at once because of well issues and it was like that way for 2 weeks. Now I'm back down to two. Will cancel one tomorrow if the wait isn't horrible. :joker:
