Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

I did a split stay in 2005...moving from Poly to BCV on Christmas morning. We left most of our bags with Poly bell services for transfer (minus DH's laptop) and took the monorail to Epcot, walked through it and onto the BC to check in. The BC villa was ready even though it was *well* before check in time. Pretty hassle free. The only issue we had (very minor) was that our bags weren't in the room when we got back from Epcot mid-afternoon. But it was a hugely busy day. We called bell services and they said our bags would be arriving at the villa a little after 5...and they were pretty much on the dot with the timing.

I took Magical Express both there and back...I seem to remember having to call after I made the Poly reservation online to get the return ME voucher changed to my end date at BCV (was renting points, did not rent through Disney). Even that worked fine.

I'm considering a split stay for my next trip, though this time, I think I'll take a cab from resort to resort. These days, I'm willing to pay a little extra to save time, lol.

Thanks for your thoughts! :) We might try one night split at AOA suites... we'll just see how Thursday goes. Major crisis averted though - parents are now going to stay at any value they can get with free dining, and we'll just meet up around the parks. Heart rate dropping.... :teeth:

Parents had never even heard of FD, so it will be a fabulous bonus if they can get it!

I have to :lmao: at some of the posts on Chip & Co. Some very disgruntled people over certain resorts not being included. They don't think that has ever happened before. I understand being upset but really? One of them is going to "raise hell".

Oh the recipes I have!!!! We do Swedish fish ones and orange cream-sicles!

If you can make any cocktail....just find a jello flavor as your base...if all else fails...use Knox plain and flavor with primary alcohol.

I've also made hummingbird, strawberry margaritas, purple m-f ers, blue Hawaiians, dirty banana, piña colada... The possibilities are endless!

I think you are my new best friend. All those yummy drinks. :thumbsup2 Does that make me sound to much like an alcoholic. :lmao:

So Joe Black, wadda you say after the dust settles you and I start doing a podcast on free dining?

I like this idea mostly because I think know what our theme song should be: Heart's "Magic Man."

Not because it's the story of a woman's sexual awakening--not that there's anything wrong with that...

Rather, because of the killer riff, and most of all the refrain: "Try to understand...Try to understand...Try, Try, Try to understand..."!!

I know. Along with the person who said it's like discrimination in the workplace. Yeah, because not getting a discount on your vacation is on *exactly* the same level as that. <eyeroll>

I am not sure why people don't realize that it's all about filling rooms at certain resorts? If the resort is already close to being booked, they obviously don't have to discount anything to get more people in there. They want to fill the hotels that don't have the rooms booked yet.

**anxiously awaiting August 1 so I can save a few hundred bucks on my vacation**

Ok...realistically...how quickly does this kind of thing sell out? To be honest I could care less what room category I have but I want a specific resort.

Where can I go to find out how much free dining will save me?

I am probably late on this and someone has probably already answered you, but what I do is price out my trip with out adding dining... this should show you a ballpark price. So add your tickets, and room preference (make sure you don't pick a room that isn't being offered)
Also remember that if you pick value you are only getting quick service. If you are picking mod or deluxe you are getting regular dining. Good Luck!

added: you should see the price listed as to how much more you would have to pay to get dining, that will show you what your savings would be.

Thanks. I will do that. I will be at a value, but plan to upgrade to the regular dining. I saw the way to figure out that upgrade price previously so I will work that into my calculations. Thanks again.

Looking at your ticker if you want to stay at POP I would think you have a good chance of getting FD especially if you book the first day, it's a pretty big resort.

Good Luck!

Oooh.... What is that???

The most amazing Martini I have ever had. It's not white, its actually pink but tastes just like a white freezie, Here is the recipe:

2 oz. Liqueur, banana
1/2 oz. Sour Raspberry Pucker
Fill with Sprite

My local Martini house also uses Skyy Vodka in it.

And then you can complicate everything even more by doing the RO discount compariason to see if you'll save more by doing FD or RO. :scared: Ahhh!!! The joys of planning a DV!!!! :cool2:

No you're not an alcoholic if you can eat it!

Sadly funny....I'm buying a hat that reads "Rehab is for quitters!"

I just called one last time to look for PINs attached to our names, but no luck. I tried to get the CM on my side by making her laugh, telling her about the automated voice system confirming that my gmail address was xxxx dot "gah-mail", but she was not amused.

I know. I just did the room only vs FD comparison and room discount saves me about $400 more.

For me it's all about FD. So i'm crossing my fingers tight and wishing upon a star...the second star to the right to be exact...that Mr. Black was spot on!
