Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

Yeah I'm not cracking open the bourbon just yet...I'll hang on until Thursday and will then determine if heavy drinking will be involved. Would anyone care to join me?

You both keep doing what you do best! You both have demanding careers in

the real world, so for the both of you to take your valuable time to help us is

beyond gratitude, I am truly appreciative. Dave, you have the best site,

not only for first timers, but for many timers like me, too. I refer everyone to

your site who is going to Disney for the first time.

And Joe, your articles, blog and knowledge of all things Disney is truly

astounding! The time you put in to bringing us the latest info only because

you want everyone to have the greatest Disney experience possible, is

applaudable! Thanks Guys!!!

Ditto!!! Thanks you both for all the great insights and info :)

Do you have to talk to a certain CM do this.....ask if you have a pin. I asked once and she said sometimes Disney sends pins and she didn't ask if there were other names or addresses I may have moved from.

Any CM in reservations should be able to check for you. Ask about your spouse and anyone else if they are traveling with you. I didn't have the PIN when I called to ask but my sister did and the CM applied it to both rooms for us.

I agree! And I haven't had a drop, yet!
I will however celebrate with everyone, sipping some Zaya rum on ice, when the predictions come through for us. Woohoo! OR to numb the pain when I don't get POR for my dates, one way or another. : ).
Come on pixie dust!

So I've read ALL 200 pages and am very hopeful it still comes out. Am hung up on all the reports of cast members saying to keep checking later this week. They wouldn't be saying that just to get you off the phone, would they? Because then we are just going to keep calling and annoying them even more, getting more anxious and I'm sure, more upset. I read so many contradicting posts. One says maybe DV will come out tomorrow, another says they never start offers on a Tuesday. Many say cast members are not the most well informed and you can get conflicting answers from them, yet we (me included) are banking on their encouragement to keep checking!

And if nothing happens Thursday, I'll be drinking my rum and coke in my refillable mug from last years trip!

Put me in for the waiting to see if anything happens on Thursday. If not, not a biggie. We booked in October 2012 and paid off the trip. If we happen to get any type of discount, that will go towards the 4 day "romance" trip hubby and I have planned in February. Course, not sure I will be able to walk, after I run the Princess Half.

I'm with smitch, I don't drink but if I did I think I would dress up like a pirate, get a couple bottles of rum and a musket and jump off the boat in the tortuga part of the Pirates of the Carribean ride. If you just keep repeating the same movements they might not notice you don't belong.pirate:

I really did laugh out loud at this. Not a snort, not a giggle. A full on laugh! Nice!

Confirmed? - You keep using that word. I do not think it means, what you think it means.

Just had to do it, sorry. It is making me laugh.

I want to join the party on Thursday...what time do we crack the bottles? I prefer wine or rum...so if anyone wants to join me...I'll supply!! LOL And here's to hoping it's celebratory drinks all around. But, yes...if no free dining...it's still Disney and still makes me happy! (Just a little more poor!)

You're supplying wine?!
I'm so there! Red, please.

No evidence that the offer has been pulled. It is likely that they just didn't offer it to DV holders first, which also happened for this same discount timeframe in 2010. :goodvibes

I was gonna ask this.... Mind reading now Smitch?

Make that Captain Morgans Reserve and you got yourself a first mate!!
"Why is the Rum gone????"

I did NOT get up at 6am (cdt) to call in for this offer :thumbsup2 and am very happy how that I just slept in.

I can't believe there is 30 pages of whining and OP bashing over this! Come on people - lighten up. This was always speculation and rumor.

If you are a person who has gone to WDW for years, and I am talking decades, you know that discounts at Disney came only after the travel economy tanked after 9-11. Disney was the one hotel company that did not need to offer a room discount to travel industry employees. That started for us after that terrible event and has gone on for all these years. But guess what? They have stopped offering this discount  and I am sorry to see it go because it was a good one.

The point I am trying to make is economy is getting better, people are traveling, and yes, they will go even without a discount. So from a corporate business point of view, should they offer FD? Only if they need it to entice people to book rooms, and maybe they don't need to anymore.

We are going in October, and paying rack rates so FD would be icing. To save money, if FD does not happen, maybe we can stay offsite. I hear the Days Inn is nice.....

So True!!
Deep Discounts after 9/11 and the parks were extremely empty during the slow months. October has become a very busy month! Even the prices of the room rates have gone way up! Miss the old days!

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere in this massive thread but darned if I can find it...so I'm sorry for asking but..

I have a package reservation with a $200 deposit on my Discover. I have a Disney Visa. I don't want to cancel and rebook IF FD comes out to Disney Visa holders - can I just leave my deposit on Discover and apply a certain amount on my Disney Visa towards the reservation? Does this have to be done in $200 increments? I'd really like to put as little as possible on my Disney Visa - so can I throw $50 on the DV to get the discount?

Thanks and GL on this promo everyone - and thanks for all of the inside scoop from those willing to share their time and knowledge.

I doubt it. Last time they credited my 200.00 back , then rebilled it. And that WAS a DVP.
Seemed silly but there it is,

This is very sweet, and is my second favorite post of the day--my first fave being the one that noted that I was not so fat, bald, and old as a reader had imagined...

I'll take an abundance of Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper and/or iced caramel mocha lattes!!!

Oy. I hope we have good news on Thurs!!

Each time I've called (previous to this morning), the CMs have said to keep checking back. Yesterday & today, I was told things wouldn't roll out til the current offer was over (one said "IF there is anything" and others said "There's always something, whether it be RO or FD.")- check back in August.

Here's hoping!!! We booked prior to the FD rumor but were fretting on how to make everything jibe. Between 3 MVMCP tix, at least 1 character meal (we aren't ready to splurge on lots of TS meals) & trying to get from the resort to Give Kids the World for a day, let's just say free dining would be a great bonus b/c we have other places to spend that $! :-)

DH just got a new job & even though he won't be able to telecommute any more, the pay raise is going to help out immensely :-). He hasn't started yet but they already approved his vaca days for WDW in Nov :-).

After getting over my disappointment earlier (we are going either way but would love to schedule a few extra fun things if it happens) I decided this was a good thing. I don't work Thursday so I can celebrate properly! The hard part is going to be trying to explain to the kids why mommy is celebrating! (It's a surprise trip) :)
