I have booked this though it wont be till September 2013 as eveything i read seems to say is a smaller resort be me and my 2 chidren who be 10 and 8 .

Am hoping it is a bit quieter as my son cna get overwhelmed and small as I use a wheelchair.Has anyone seen the adapted rooms at all please

Thank you

Does anyone have an update on the construction? I tried searching the thread but can't find any recent updates. TIA!:)

Apologies if this has been answered before, but I have a question about room layout.

My wife and I will be taking our 15 month old when we (hopefully) go during Thanksgiving week. She sleeps in a pack and play but in times past, we have had more success with putting her in an area where she cannot see us. We noticed that there's a curtain to separate the sink area from the sleeping area, and we are wondering if a pack and play will fit in this area comfortably?

I am giving a calculated guess from memory of the size of the vanity area that it would. You would be a bit pressed for space there if you wanted to get through to the bathroom but I'm pretty sure you could squeeze a pack n play in there if you put it sideways (not lengthways) in that area. As long as she doesn't try a 'crib escape' as there is an ironing board and iron and all kinds of cords and flexes from the hairdryer in that area so it really depends on your baby and whether you feel you are adequately able to make it safe enough to feel comfortable to leave her out of your sight behind the curtain

It appears to be complete, assuming you are talking about the POFQ courtyard construction work. Post #3557 on page 238 of this thread has pics :)

I stayed at POFQ last summer, and I remember there was a little area near/across from the whirlpool that was blocked off by temporary walls with signs that said they were refurbishing. Does anyone know what has been added, or whether those signs are still there?

Any idea on the refurbishment I mentioned? It's not the courtyard area with the palm trees I was referring to, it's actually just at the very end of that path on the right side.

In fact, I just found a photo showing the area! This photo is from July 2011.

Also, I just learned that the room categories have been changed this year and that a GV category has been added. What a sneaky way to add a price hike! It would seem like rates have only changed +$5 for the summer season, but that's only for Standard rooms! Last year our "Standard" had a gorgeous view facing the courtyard - we were in building 4 and facing the walkway dividing the building and the courtyard, so it was absolutely perfect! Do ANY of the remaining Standards have views of the courtyard or similar GV, or are they exclusively parking lot and obstructed views?

Ok POFQ fans, we are thinking of staying there our first time in October. Havent decided between POFQ and CBR. Anyway I have a DGD who loves the pools and a daughter who smokes. We will probably book a garden view and I wanted to know if we requested building 5 first floor, would this be a good location for my pool lover and smoker ?

Anyone have an opinion on this building thanks :confused3

Yes. :thumbsup2

Perfect location from the information you have given. There are plenty smoking areas within spitting distance of most of the rooms in Building 5. If it helps I have been a smoker on all our Disney trips (but no more!) and have always requested building 5. Buildings 2 and 5 are both very central and both right at the pool so either would be a good option for you. If you want any more specific info, please feel free to ask :goodvibes

Just got back today from POR and although we enjoyed it, I booked POQ for DD and I for a long weekend in June! Although both are lovely, I think we prefer POQ (except you just can't beat POR's food court!) - so we're really excited to be going back! This will be I think our 5th(?) stay at POQ!

Love it there! Will be staying for 7 nights from November 5-November 12. It will be my mom's first time staying on site. She hasn't been at WDW since 1991. I am really excited for her!:cheer2:

Awww, that is awesome that you and your Mom are going! She's going to find a whole lot has changed since '91. We took my Mom in 2005 and she hadn't been since 1978!!! She was so surprised by how much more there was!

I love mother/daughter trips - ours in June is just DD and I! So happy and excited for it!

Thank you, I thought it looked like it was a good location with a few smoking areas around and close to everything else. :thumbsup2. If I have any more question I will keep you in mind :)

You are a very lucky lady!! I have never ever received a PIN from Disney and don't ever expect to see one. Yes, I am talking public discounts. Although I think I saw where there was free dining for POFQ. I never get the dining plan so I did not pay attention to that. Anyway, I have always been able to get the AP discount and now nothing.:sad2:

Maybe it has to something to do with Disney knowing we will come back and they are trying to get new visitors to come back again. Because my daughter went with me last September which she hasnt been there since she was little and they sent her a pin in the email for 10% off. Im still waiting for one, I think I have gotten one pin and that was years ago.

Wishing you and your daughter all the best in June! I'm actually treating my mom so it's like pay back for the two trips she took me on when I was 10 and 12. I am now 33 and just as excited as ever!

Ours is also a mother/daughter trip but in this case this will be her first visit ever. It's also her first time overseas! We're going in February 2013 and I'm planing to give her the best experience ever! :wizard:

POFQ seems to be the perfect resort for these kind trips. Its smallish size makes getting around a pleasure, not a chore. And the boat to DTD is a very nice perk!

What do you think about POFQ vs CSR? I have family staying at Riverside, but I just don't like the theming there at all. I've contemplated switching to POFQ to be closer to them. If you've stayed at CSR, how do the two compare? Also, will we be close enough to Riverside to hang out with out it being too inconvenient? Thanks.

I can't answer your CSR questions (wasn't over-impressed with the resort when I last visited, their food court is very odd!) but as far as popping between POFQ and POR, that's very easy. It's a nice ten minute stroll along the river bank, or take a ferry boat if you're feeling really idle.

I've stayed at both POFQ & CSR and I enjoyed my stay at POFQ so much more. The pool at CSR is really nice if you care about that kind of thing, but the resort was so huge, we were always exhausted going back and forth to the main building. Also wasn't crazy about the food court. I've stayed at POFQ twice now, most recently this past Christmas, and with the refurbished rooms, it's my fav moderate resort. It's really small and cozy, the grounds are beautiful, the boat to DTD is wonderful, and you can easily walk over to Riverside if you want. Plus there are fresh beignets every morning at the food court!
