Are you going to DL or WDW? I can't keep everyone straight. ;) I'm going to DL and I got mine by mail last Tuesday. I e-mailed it back to them on Wednesday and received my itinerary on Thursday. DH made me change our flights so I had to send it back Friday morning and haven't heard back from them yet. I just want to get it booked so I know the dates and flights are for sure. :thumbsup2

I emailed our itinerary back Saturday, so hopefully we didn't lose our flights by taking too long to approve them. Our friends are on the same flight, so it would stink to be on different flights. I would hope that Disney has some way of locking down a reservation until it gets booked. Or maybe they book it, and don't have to pay to change it, if necessary.

You will love the SD Zoo. It's been years since I have been, but it was awesome then. If you can swing it, you should try Sea World too. As for beaches, I like Huntington Beach. The Dukes' Restaurant has tasty food, and a good view of the ocean. I can't remember what time of year you are going, but we were last there in late December 2008 and there weren't many people on the beach, the water was cold, but the air wasn't too bad.

Thanks! I live so close to the Sea World in Orlando, FL and we have annual passes so we are going to skip the one in San Diego. It's a lot smaller and from looking at the maps, I can tell that it's all the same stuff. I don't want to spend a day doing something there that I can easily do here anytime. Definitely will hit the beaches and the zoo.

I HAVE to recommend the Blue Bayou inside POTC! It is a little pricey, .ake sure you go for lunch not dinner, but it is delish and the atmosphere is great! We always get the Monte Cristo Sandwich!:)
Thanks! In the very little looking I've done so far I had read that the Monte Cristo is good at Blue Bayou. It was on my list but great idea to go for lunch instead of dinner. :thumbsup2

I agree. Especially since you have the gift cards. For those of you with boys, I recommend Goofy's Kitchen for a character meal. Lots of characters there, long time for interaction, and the food is weirdly good (PB & J pizza, worms and dirt).

Goofy's Kitchen is another one I wanted to do. My boys don't really care about the characters much so we normally don't do character meals, but with the GC we have to do it! I think I like the characters more than they do. ;)

Since you are going before us, you will have to let me know if the SD Zoo is worth the trip. I've heard that it is not to be missed, but I have also heard that it is just so-so. Legoland is a lot of fun; I have never been to the one in Cali but we have AP's to the new one in Florida and I think they have a lot of the same things. Your kids will enjoy it for sure.

I've heard the SD Zoo is awesome so we're definitely going to do it. We were planning on going to Legoland in FL in May but with this trip coming up we're just going to do it in CA. We can get a two day ticket for less than a one day in Florida and they have a waterpark and aquarium as well. We went to the one in Germany before kids and we loved it! We're not telling our boys were doing anything but DL so we can surprise them a little bit. :)

My brother lived in SD for a few years and we loved the zoo! We would go there every trip. Wasn't so impressed with Legoland though. Our DS liked it ok, and he LOVES Legos, but even he was like, "that's all?" I know several families that have enjoyed it though. We also loved Seaworld! The Atlantis ride is great and the DS really liked the animal shows!

We were just in So Cal in January - we visited for a week and then did a 7 day sail on the Wonder. We bought a City Pass so we went to the SD Zoo, SeaWorld and Universal (and DLR of course:). I LOVED LOVED LOVED the zoo! We got there early and were the first ones in. They were doing a "training" session right inside for some newer birds and my DS got to participate - he got to have a toucan (sp?) land on this arm - very cool. I just really loved the atmosphere at the zoo.

I was really disappointed with Seaworld. It is no where near as enjoyable as the one in Orlando. We did pay extra for the Penguin encounter though - that was definately worth it.

I also did not like Universal as compared to IOA & US in Orlando. I found it really boring, although I did enjoy the backlot tour. It was pretty cool.

When you are in San Diego, go to Mission Beach - its great.

Oh yeah, I forgot the one in SD isn't the only Sea World.

I have also heard that Legoland kinda sucks, to put it mildly. I've had friends that have taken their grade school aged kids, who liked it, but the parents weren't so thrilled.

We found legoland to be a waste of time and money when we went last year.

We'll have to check out Mission Beach. We've been to Seaworld in Orlando and DH hates it so I know he won't go to the one in CA.

I'm sad to hear that Legoland sucks. I'm pretty sure my boys will like it but I'm sure to me it will seem kind of lame after being at DL for 5 days! Hmmm, maybe we'll just skip it and go to the one in Florida. Decisions, decisions. ;)

Yes! As in like 6ish weeks from now! I'm not a very patient person lol...I wanted our trip to be like YESTERDAY...lol

Awesome! You'll be the first one to take your trip so you'll have to keep us updated. :thumbsup2

Welcome! :) Goodluck Jannel! Let's hope we are both winners this week! :) By the way, if you have yet to enter other contests for Disney, here is a link to a list of Disney contests. You can enter the contests that you wanna win.

Thank you so much Nick! I am definitely going to enter the other contests! Hopefully I will be lucky with one of them!! :)

Ok! Also, since I live less than 250 miles away, they will either provide a rental car for the week PLUS a 200 dollar HESS gas card, or a 600 dollar HESS gas card and we take our own car. What would y'all do? We're literally an hour away, so I'm thinking the 600 dollar gas card and we'll just take or own car! What do y'all think?

Yeah, I'd take the $600 gas card and your own car, if your car is up to the trip. I take it HESS is an southeast thing?

Yep! Lol. Our car is definitely up for the trip lol. Yes, HESS is a southeast station! I'm soooo excited now! Yay! Just called DH and practically yelled I was so excited lol!

I would take the $600 Hess card since you are so close! That's a really cool deal for winners who live close by. :thumbsup2

Aww, that's so cool. Take the gas card!!!
