We were neighbors, Sara1babe, and didn't know it. We were in 7A as well. I didn't notice your window. But we were a corner room closest to 7B. We had a double window!!

I wanted the Rachos this time (but I requested 7b, 8a or b, or Casitas 4 or 5), we stayed in the Cabanas in March and Casitas in August. So I thought it was awesome to stay in all 3 villages in a year!!

Last night, was the only night we walked to El Centro. All other times, we drove.

Full TR with pictures of the resort and DIS meets to come!

We just got back a week ago and also ended up in a corner room in Ranchos 7B. Even though I'm pretty sure they are the same size, the corner rooms seem slightly larger....probably because of the 2 windows. We had really wanted the Cabanas but 7B worked out just fine for us.:thumbsup2

We said the same thing. If nothing else, it had a "bigger" feel. Maybe it's the perspective of more light in the room?

We were pleased with the room. It was nice and quiet as there was no path in front of our room. I counted 2 guests walking right by the room the entire time. Unlike the waterview upgrade we got last time. There was always someone walking by the window.

I got lots of pics of the Ranchos, but I have to say the prettiest pics I took were last night's sunset at POFQ on the carriage ride.

Weeelllll we've had to make major changes to our upcoming trip and guess where we're going ???
Hoping for the Ranchos again.

My parents and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at CSR 10/10-10/15! We were totally impressed with everything. The resort was so calming. Our room was 3474 in Casitas. I miss walking to Pepper Market for breakfast with the spanish music guiding me there. Loved taking early morning walks around Lago Dorado. The staff was so friendly and inviting. We are booking an 11-day trip for January 2013 as soon as those prices become available. The only complaint we had was the fact that there is no food served after 11 pm. Well, 447 days till the next trip! :thumbsup2

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Glad you are going back.

Thank you for letting us know that you had an enjoyable stay at CSR. Although we didn't stay this year, we passed by and have such fond memories.

I love the music around the resort.

Thinking of booking here next year...I was wondering, is it hard to get a club level room? Or are the CL only the suites?

Club level rooms will be given out when there is not a convention for regular guests. HOWEVER, you do not get the Club Level services -- no food, etc. Convention hosts have to pay for this benefit and it is the only time they put the food out, etc.

We just returned from our stay at Coronado Springs Resort. We were in ranchos 7B and Loved it. We had a view of the quiet pool and the dig site was right around the corner. I was nervous when I heard we had been assigned to Ranchos, but it was just perfect. It was soooo quiet and a quick walk to bus stop 4. We walked to Pepper Market early every morning and despite the distance found it to be a peaceful walk the only bad part was that we did not have our beloved dog to take the walk with us. Also my son loved the dig site pool, if we could have spent the entire vacation just at the pool alone he would have been happy. I will without a doubt stay there again!!

So glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the CSR and that you found Ranchos 7B to be a nice area. And so glad that your son loved the Dig Site pool...it still remains our favorite pool of all the resorts we have stayed at.

I need to read this thread because I just switched my Christmas trip from BWV to CSR and will be my 1st time at CSR since I am trying to stay at all the resorts. I'm kinda bummed :sad1: but I just couldn't fork out the additional $1,987 (along with my resort switching OCD). I'm also hoping for some reassuring that I made the right decision. My dates are December 23-30 :santa:. It does look like a beautiful resort and heck...I loved ASMovies so I know I'll love CSR!

I made room request to be in cabanas, and usually when you make room request you were able to see them when you view them online when you viewed your reservation.

has the disney system changed recently? or do you think the cast member made a mistake?

Approximately how long does it take the average person to walk from the farthest point in the Ranchos to El Centro.

My partner and I are hoping to have a trip to WDW world either next year or 2013, it all depends on her job situation. We want to stay at CSR, it looks beautiful. I think from what I have read I would like to be in either Casitas 4 or 5 or the cabanas. I don't really want a big long walk to get to El Centro.

I'd really like to be in WDW right now but.... I guess I will have to wait.

It took us about 15 minutes at a good clip, stopping occasionally for pics

I have walked it in 10 minutes (sometimes 15 if I take pictures). I had just as long a walk last month at the AKL (Kidiani) to the lobby.

I'm with you...I wish I was in WDW right now too. But I just got hte best news...I'm going back in just three months. :)

I just checked mine for my Nov-Dec trip. The email they sent under Special Requests says: Ground Floor Not Guaranteed and just below that it says Special Request Cabanas 8A. I then went online to check and under Requests it just says: Ground Floor requested (nothing about wanting in the Cabanas).:confused3

I also have a reservation for POFQ in Feb. I checked it and it just says Requests: Ground Floor (nothing about wanting in Buildings 2 or 5).:confused3

I just wanted to give my experience with the room requests. For March, under special requests it said 1st floor and nothing about a building. For August, nothing showed under special requests. For October, nothing showed under special requests. Each time I called the resort 3 days prior and was told that the operator couldn't see what the requests were, but she would add a note.

I had requested buildings 8 A or B, 9 A or B, Casitas 4 or 5 for March and August. For October, I added 7b to my requests.

In March, we got 8A. The room was assigned before we ever got there. I was just handed a packet and sent on my way at check in. The room wasn't ready, but a couple hours later it was.

In August, we got a free upgrade to 5A water front. It was our 20th wedding anniversary and I assume that was the reason for the upgrade! Our room was ready upon arrival, but was assigned on the spot at check in, not already pre-done in a packet.

In October, the packet wasn't ready and she made it there at check-in. This time we didn't get any of the buildings we requested. But we got one beside one of the requested. This time we got 7A. We got a corner room with 2 windows, and were one of the closest rooms to 7B. Looking out our window we saw the laundry room at 7B.

That is the best news ever! :cool1: Are you staying at CSR this time? ;)

Unfortunately, no. Here is the story as revealed on my current TR:

Well, I was going to hold off a day or two, but you all made me feel bad for keeping a secret, that I'm now going to share with you.

I have a friend on Facebook who posted she was doing a Mother/Daughter trip in February. I asked if I could be her "daughter" too. She informed me there was room and I could join. I said, "I don't think Mark would like it if I went on vacation without him; but then again...he's going to Vegas on business so....."

I got home and told Mark about this and he said to me, "go for it." Then the dates got changed to the last week of January and he said, "go with the girls and have fun." I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!!!

So I looked up airfare, got a great fare of $209 with tax, and I leave on January 26 and return home on January 31.

Oh....I suppose you want to know where I am going. I'm going to Disney World with Mary and Cayley and Avery!!!!!

I am so excited that I can't stand it. As it turns out, February 7 is the five year anniversary of my having successful breast cancer surgery and I wanted to do something to celebrate that I have remained cancer free. What better way than hanging with my good friend, Mary, and my adorable adopted "grandgirls"!

We are staying, as of now, at Saratoga Springs for three nights and then moving to BLT for the last two nights (this may change to Boardwalk and/or OKW).

Mary can fill you in on where we might eat. And Mary...just let me know what you need/want me to do. And thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me come and join you on your vacation. And you know I love you guys as this is the FIRST time in over 35 years that I will be getting on a plane by myself and I have NEVER flown in winter.
:scared1:
