Coronado Springs Resort -- New Unofficial FAQ Thread -- October 2010

DH and I love CSR. We were booked there originally from Jan. 23-29 but had to change out trip dates because DH got a new job and started on Jan. 4. Turned out to be a blessing that we didn't go in January because DH's mom was in ICU. Thankfully she is home and doing well now. So we rebooked for March 1-7 at CSR. Had to change again, family conflict. Now we are going from Feb. 27-Mar. 5. We were told CSR was not available, and we moved to POR. Today, on a whim I checked the WDW site and found a room for our new dates at CSR. I called, we made the change and now have a king room, hopefully in Cabanas, our favorite location. We are THRILLED! Disney magic at its best! Yay!

We were asked if we wanted a preferred room, I declined. Where are the preferred rooms? Did I read right that they are Casitas?
Thanks!

We just booked our stay at CSR for 10/16-10/23! This is my husband and children's first trip to Disney. We are so excited to stay at this beautiful resort! Now we're just hoping for some discount codes for October.

:cool1:

I have finally read this entire thread! About halfway through, all of you had me convinced to switch from CBR to CSR. Now, we (Me, DH, DD 7, and DS 4) will be visiting April 1-3 as a stop on our way down to Ft. Myers Beach. Sounds like we will wish we were staying longer. I originally thought that CSR would be "too grown up" for my kids, but thanks to this thread and all of the photos and videos online, I found out that I was wrong! Another concern that I had was that my daughter is tall and I was afraid that she would not be allowed to play at the pirate ship splash pad at CBR if it was crowded. If her brother can and she can't, I know that will bum her out. I was thrilled to find that CSR has such a kid friendly play area and pool slide. We plan to arrive early on April 1 and enjoy the Dig Site and relax for the day before heading over to HDDR for the second showing. I can't wait to grab some lunch by the main pool and enjoy an adult beverage while my children swim to their hearts content. Thanks to all of you for convincing me to switch. I am sure that CBR is great, but CSR's pool just seems less busy and it will be very relaxing!

We had the same problem as you a month ago and we chose CSR over CBR.

Let us know how you liked it when you get back. We will be there in May.

Did you make the reservation through a travel agent? If so, CSO is correct. Your travel agent can make the request

If you made the reservation directly with Disney, call again and see if another CM can help you.

I called again today, got same response, that it's too early, I can't make a room request until less than 10 days out. I booked through the website. How is everyone else able to make these requests so far in advance?

I loved this view. DS and I would take a walk in the evening, leave our building Cabanas 8A and head towards the main building. This is just before you cross the bridge! Beautiful!

Thanks for the picture we're gong to be there three weeks from today (holed up in a snowstorm today), and I can't wait!

I put in my room request with my original ressie and it was the first time that I ever got my request granted. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not, but I will do it that way from now on!! Hey, whatever works, right???

It may make a difference in how you ask. All you need to do is ask them to put a note on your reservation that you'd prefer X and so. Don't call it a "room request" - just a note.

Hi all, first of all, I'm sure this question has been asked before but I can't seem to find a definite answer. I wanted to know about shipping water and other things to CSR. In some posts I read it says to make sure its being shipped by UPS not fed ex and the package will be held at the front desk (no extra charge). Others say there is a charge regardless. I want to order a case of a bottled water to be shipped there and I want to ship some essentials out there myself. Does anyone know the current policy and any advice of where to order the water from?

TIA
Bicki

If you ship via USPS it will go directly to the front desk and there won't be an extra charge. Shipping via FedEx or UPS doesn't get the package to the front desk of the hotel and will require a charge for each day it's held before your arrival. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know if the convience store at CSR sells honey?

DH eats some everyday but he is afraid to bring it in our luggage because he has read somehwere that drug-sniffing dogs will think it is drugs?! I have no idea about that, but I'm researching our options! :)

I don't recall ever seeing it. I do think, however, that they have the packets by the drinks for those who take it in their tea.

Just wanted to post that my parents and I have booked a POSSIBLE trip in May and we will be staying at CSR :goodvibes

103 days to go (hopefully!) :cloud9:
